Abstract

The agricultural potential in East Rasanae District is also supported by plantation potential, one of which is palm trees. Palm sap produced is still sold in logs, so the shelf life is very low, resulting in damage and the product is wasted, resulting in low economic value. Based on observation visits and interviews with the Chair of KWT Mekar Sari, it was found that problems included a lack of quantity of chemical fertilizer and a lack of knowledge and skills of women farmers in processing and utilizing palm sap natural resources. Beginner Community Empowerment Program (PMP) which involves farmers, especially women farmers who are members of KWT Mekar Sari with a total of 30 members with an organic plant cultivation business that uses the home yard as business land and agricultural extension officers with support academic community as the initiator of agricultural transformation in Bima City by utilizing the potential of sap processing so that it is not wasted. The main objective of implementing Beginner Community Service with KWT Mekar Sari Partners is to achieve one of the MBKM programs at IKU2, IKU3, IKU5 & as a vehicle for mentoring women farmers. Abstract

Solid waste in the form of garbage is one of the problems that occurs in various big cities in Indonesia. TPS 3R Migunani Plalangan, Pandowoharjo Sleman Yogyakarta, using the need and assessment method, found problems that cover two aspects, namely production and marketing. Through the development of an integrated waste management ecosystem for TPS 3R Migunani, it is hoped that it can support the 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) with a priority on waste management, namely through waste processing by implementing Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle by optimizing production and increasing the selling value of TPS 3R Migunani commodities, namely compost, maggots, bricks and superior Balitbangtan chickens to encourage sustainable development. The stages in implementing the method are procuring goods to sort/enrich waste. Furthermore, for the aspect of improving marketing by creating product packaging designs and also making digital marketing videos to reach a wide market so that waste management can run effectively, efficiently and sustainably. The empowerment program by providing assistance in waste management at TPS 3R Migunani, Plalangan has succeeded in helping develop a waste management ecosystem by increasing the economic value of waste and reducing waste residue disposed of at the TPA. It has also succeeded in increasing the volume of waste processing production which has boosted the production of fresh maggots and compost. The advice from the devotee for the sustainability of a sustainable waste management ecosystem in order to realize a circular economy in the Plalangan Village environment is to strengthen collaboration with various stakeholders, each of whom plays a role in waste management. Not just relying on social network approaches. Thus, slowly but surely it will be able to realize zero waste in the Plalangan Village environment and its surroundings.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition of stunted physical growth in children due to malnutrition, a serious problem that can have a long-term impact on the health, education and development of school-age children. In addition, the incidence of stunting is also related to the health condition of the gastrointestinal tract, especially the balance of the normal flora population. When a child's digestive tract is healthy and nutrient absorption is maximized, it indirectly reduces the risk of nutritional problems, especially stunting. This PKM activity aims to provide education, training and assistance to teachers, students and parents regarding stunting prevention so that they can contribute to realizing the Golden Generation 2045.  Community Development is the method used in PKM, technically the activities are carried out by socialization, education, training, mentoring and monitoring. This PKM activity targets 5th and 6th grade students of SDN 11 Sanur who are early adolescents who need to get education and knowledge related to stunting. Based on the activities that have been carried out, an increase in understanding related to stunting is 76,63%. The increase in understanding related to gastrointestinal health has also increased by 84,09%. This community service program is very beneficial for the partner community and is able to increase the partner community's understanding of things to improve health status in an effort to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Premarital pregnancy is a pregnancy that is generally unplanned and gives rise to feelings of guilt, sin and shame in teenagers who experience it, coupled with social sanctions from society against pregnancy and the birth of children without marriage. Early pregnancy increases the mortality rate for babies and mothers under 18 years of age. The reason is, a young teenager is at greater risk of dying during pregnancy and childbirth than women aged 20 years and over. The aim of this community service is to form a "Temanta" group to accompany peers as an effort to prevent teenage premarital pregnancy. Conduct a pretest first on students to find out students' knowledge, then conduct counseling with material about efforts to prevent premarital pregnancy in teenagers and after that carry out a posttest. The next activity is to conduct peer mentoring training for students by improving students' skills in communication and peer counseling. And the final activity is the formation of a peer mentoring group called "TEMANTA". The results of the Wilcoxon test showed that there were differences in students' knowledge and skills before and after treatment with a p value of 0.001<0.005, and the formation of the "TEMANTA" group at Satap Salusimbuang Middle School, Luwu Regency. The formation of the "TEMANTA" group can be useful in peer mentoring students in efforts to prevent premarital pregnancy in teenagers.

Abstract

Education is the foundation for shaping a quality and competitive generation. One of the main elements of the learning process is educational innovation, which can refine the quality of learning practices and actively engage students. One such innovation is project-based learning (PjBL). Therefore, this community service activity was organized to provide training for teachers at SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Pontianak in designing innovative learning methods. Through the implementation of PjBL, teachers are expected to develop students' critical thinking skills and prepare them to face real-world challenges. The objective of this community service activity is to conduct training for teachers to enhance their ability to develop integrative thematic project-based learning that focuses on critical thinking skills, thus creating enjoyable and meaningful learning experiences for students. The training methods include delivering material, demonstrations, and interactive discussions. The training is divided into three main sessions: theoretical presentations, practical demonstrations, and a dialogue and Q&A session to deepen participants' understanding of the material presented. The results of the activity showed an improvement in teachers' knowledge, especially through the interactive delivery of theory, demonstrations, and discussions. Teachers not only gained a deep understanding of the PjBL concept but also became more capable of designing and implementing projects in the classroom, despite challenges such as limited time and resources. The increase in the average score from 50 in the pretest to 80 in the posttest reflects an enhanced understanding, with teachers becoming more skilled in designing projects that meet students' needs. Additionally, the understanding of the fundamental differences between PjBL and problem-based learning (PBL) became clearer, with teachers now able to differentiate the focus of these two approaches. The training activity successfully improved teachers' understanding of project-based learning to support the development of 21st-century skills in students. Through the delivery of theory, demonstrations, and discussions, teachers were able to grasp strategies for implementing project-based learning, even with the constraints of time and resources.

Abstract

Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) occurs in 6 to 8 out of every 1,000 live births. CHD is one of the most common congenital anomalies, with a mortality rate of up to 25% in the first year of life. CHD is a structural and functional abnormalities that develop during embryogenesis. Delayed diagnosis of CHD leads to increased morbidity and mortality. A community service activity was conducted in Kediri, East Java, to raise awareness among medical personnel about early detection of CHD, followed by examinations using pulse oximetry and echocardiography. The education method included seminars and training sessions covering early detection, diagnosis, and management of CHD. The examinations were performed by pediatric cardiology consultants. Pre-test and post-test evaluations were conducted to assess the knowledge level of medical personnel. The activity involved 100 participants, including specialists, general practitioners, midwives, and nurses. The average pre-test score was 58.57/100, with 7 participants achieving a perfect score. By the end of the training, the average post-test score increased to 72.06/100, with 25 participants obtaining perfect scores. A total of 27 children underwent echocardiography; 20 were diagnosed with acyanotic CHD, 2 with cyanotic CHD, and 5 were normal. In the pulse oximetry examinations, all infants had oxygen saturation levels of 95% or higher, with no difference greater than 3% between pre- and post-ductal locations. The conclusion is that education through seminars and training can improve medical personnel's knowledge of early detection of CHD in children.
