Abstract

Zero waste-based product differentiation training as a solution to improve the competitiveness of the Naminasang Farm & Co. fish farming group (POKDAKAN). Zero waste is an approach that optimizes the use of resources and reduces waste, resulting in environmentally friendly and more economically valuable products. This training aims to provide understanding and skills to POKDAKAN members in developing varied, innovative, and sustainable processed catfish products by utilizing waste from fish farming and processing. Through the zero waste approach, POKDAKAN Naminasang Farm & Co can create various new products such as animal feed from fish waste, organic fertilizer from fish farming waste, and healthy snacks from fish skin or bones. The results of this training are expected to improve operational efficiency, reduce production costs, and expand market share through sustainability-based product innovation. Thus, zero waste-based product differentiation is expected to be an effective strategy to improve the competitiveness of POKDAKAN Naminasang Farm & Co in local and global markets, as well as contribute to the circular economy and sustainable development.

Abstract

The recent increase in cases of bullying and violence committed by elementary school students is very concerning. Cases of bullying and violence against students also occurred at SDN Kejambon 2, Ngemplak. To overcome this problem, education was carried out to prevent bullying and violence through a behavioristic approach. The aim is to provide education and assistance to students in grades 4, 5 and 6 so that they better understand bullying and violence, recognize types of bullying, provide an understanding of the impacts of bullying, and provide an understanding of things that can be done to avoid bullying behavior. The method used is through a campaign in the form of training related to the ins and outs of bullying and violence by starting with a pre-test to determine students' knowledge, then continuing with training while inviting students to do a sharing session, ending with a post-test so that after the training students can have awareness and mindset that bullying behavior should not be done. The results of the paired sample correlation test showed a correlation coefficient value of 0.609 with a significance value (Sig.) of <0.001. While the Paired Samples Test showed a Sig. (2-tailed) value of <0.001, with an average pre-test value of 60.00 and a post-test result value of 82.39. These results mean that there is an influence of education in increasing the prevention of bullying and violent behavior in students of Kejambon 2 Elementary School. The recommendation for Kejambon 2 Elementary School is to immediately form a task force, have counselors and build synergy with student guardians in order to optimize the handling of bullying in the Kejambon 2 Elementary School environment.

Abstract

One of the agricultural sectors that has commodity potential is seaweed. Seaweed is a plant that is classified as benthic macroalgae which generally lives in brackish waters or uses coastal areas. Tirowali Village, Ponrang District, Luwu Regency is a coastal area that cultivates seaweed of the Eucheuma cottonii type. However, seaweed farmers often experience losses due to several factors including air quality and pest disturbances, partners' limited knowledge in using technology such as measuring air quality in the form of unstable water salt levels on cultivated land due to the rainy season, and partners' expertise in handling seaweed. After harvest, we still use soil as a medium to dry the harvest. This causes the quality of the dried seaweed to be poor and some of the harvest tends to rot due to direct contact with the soil. Apart from that, the time needed to dry seaweed takes 2-3 days. Indirectly affects market prices. The solution to this problem is to provide training and assistance in seaweed cultivation, the harvesting process at the ideal age, and the handling of seaweed that is attacked by pests and diseases. Furthermore, providing training and assistance by utilizing appropriate technology such as the Fluval Sea Hydrometer Salt Water air temperature detector to increase the growth and quality of seaweed production, providing training on the use of post-harvest Rotary Dryer seaweed drying technology, especially to help farmers if the weather is cloudy or rain, provide training related to digital marketing-based marketing strategies to widely market products using online and offline methods.

Abstract

Urban farming activities carried out by the Genitri 09 Farmers Group in Pisang Candi Village, Malang City, show that this group has succeeded in utilizing limited land for vegetable and fruit cultivation, including innovations in processing pakcoy mustard greens into ice cream (Sajiwi) as a value-added strategy. However, the main challenge faced is the low production capacity due to limited labor and manual production methods. To overcome this problem, the community service team offers a solution in the form of appropriate technology, namely ice cream maker, which is expected to be able to increase the efficiency and production capacity of Sajiwi. In addition to the procurement of machines, the service team also provides training to partners and ensures mutual understanding through focused discussion activities (FGD), in order to avoid misunderstandings and increase the success of the program.

Abstract

This community service activity is based on the fact that many teachers feel confused when trying to create educational videos, even though creating educational videos is a prerequisite for teacher certification in today's professional landscape. The community service activity began with an observation, followed by a discussion forum to map out the issues found, which then served as the basis for determining the material to be delivered. The next phase involved training for the teachers, which was concluded with an evaluation. This training was held on December 16, 2023, in the computer lab at MTs Nurul Huda. The training was attended by 20 teachers from MTs Nurul Huda. The results indicated that teachers' competencies have improved, as evidenced by 10 out of 20 participants being able to independently create educational videos related to their subjects at MTs Nurul Huda.

Abstract

KISUCI (Cikeas River Climate Community) is a community group that focuses on environmental issues, especially on the preservation of the Cikeas River, climate change mitigation, advocacy and public awareness of Cipambuan Village, Babakan Madang District, Bogor Regency, West Java. Economically, the Cipambuan community depends on the agricultural sector. In this sector, the community has fluctuating work periods and generally the densest work period is during the planting and harvest seasons. Outside of that season, work intensity decreases drastically, so that in this season, farmers are vulnerable to seasonal unemployment. Low income in the agricultural sector and minimal farming profits have resulted in a lack of interest among the younger generation in becoming farmers. The potential of Cipambuan Village to become a tourist city is greatly felt by the community, but the limitations of community knowledge about the concept of Agrotourism and the potential for welfare are very minimal. The main objective of this PKM is to empower Partners so that it is expected to increase community income, especially unemployed youth, and make Cipambuan Village, Bogor a superior tourist village through the implementation of ecological technology, educational tourism attractions and promotional content through social media. The method of implementing the activities carried out is the Socialization Stage, Training Method, Technology Application, Mentoring and Evaluation. The results of the PKM activities show that partner members can create educational attraction programs, animation-based learning modules and promotional content are available through social media and information boards. With the development of agrotourism, Cipambua Village becomes a tourist village and unemployed youth get jobs as tour guides

Abstract

Bukit Merdeka Village has great potential for the development of pineapple commodities; however, the utilization of pineapple peel waste remains suboptimal and is often regarded as mere waste. The management of food waste has become a critical issue due to its negative impact on health and the environment, where food waste is often discarded without further utilization. The objective of this community service activity is to educate the public about the dangers and potential benefits of food waste, with the hope of reducing waste, increasing economic welfare through innovation, and encouraging the people of Bukit Merdeka Village to better understand and optimize the use of food waste creatively and productively. This activity was conducted through lectures and interactive discussions involving all members of the PKK in Bukit Merdeka Village. Participants were also asked to take pre-tests and post-tests to measure their understanding before and after the education. There was a significant increase in the post-test results compared to the pre-test, with the average score of participants rising from 56.0 ± 3.2 to 84.6 ± 1.7. These results indicate that the education provided successfully improved participants' understanding of the dangers of food waste and how to utilize it. This educational activity successfully raised awareness and improved community skills in managing food waste, as well as opened economic opportunities through the utilization of pineapple peel waste.

Abstract

The active participation of all community members in managing waste in the RW 17 neighborhood of Jariendah Village, Cilengkrang District, Bandung Regency, is like an "oasis" of community-based waste management in 2010. It has become an inspiration for all levels of society to gain experience in waste management. However, one of the partners' problems includes data and recording problems that have not been properly structured. For this reason, the dedication to the partners we appoint is the need to improve the efficiency of digital-based waste management. Digitalization in waste management is important for partners to increase effectiveness in recording transactions, reporting changes in the price of waste commodities, and increasing customer data. The method chosen for implementing Community Service to solve this institutional problem is the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method and mentoring, which consists of five stages of activities. At the end of this service activity, UPK has a waste management application. Users can already use waste management applications that benefit from data and information for community-based waste management activity programs.

Abstract

People with mental disorders (ODGJ) who are accompanied by their own families either at home or as outpatients need support to improve medication adherence during their rehabilitation. One of the things that can hinder efforts to improve medication adherence in ODGJ patients (MEDA ODGJ) is non-compliance in taking medication. Based on data from the Yogyakarta City Health Office, the Integrated Service Unit (UPT) of the Tegalrejo Health Center was recorded as having the highest number of visits for patients with mental disorders compared to other health centers. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve medication adherence in ODGJ patients through a smartphone application-based program. The method in this community service activity begins with a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with health cadres, distribution of initial questionnaires (pre-test), initial socialization about mental disorders and how to handle them, counseling and training in using the application, monitoring and evaluation through distribution of the final questionnaire (post-test) to determine the level of success. The targets of this community service are members of health cadres and patients or families of patients who experience mental disorders. From the activities that have been carried out, it shows an increase in medication adherence which is marked by the post-test results of 90.56% compared to the pre-test results of 76.26%. These results indicate the achievement of program implementation where the minimum expected post-test value of 80% of participants understand the importance of medication adherence for ODGJ patients. It can be concluded that this community service activity can be carried out as planned and has succeeded in increasing medication adherence for ODGJ patients through a smartphone application-based program.
