Abstract

This community service activity is grounded in the challenge that teachers face when teaching civics education in the classroom, given the students' circumstances and confronted with the necessity to adjust to education in the twenty-first century, which is based on technology and information aligning with the Merdeka curriculum. Engaging in enjoyable learning activities can facilitate students' comprehension and retention of academic material. This service activity intends to enable teachers to utilize interactive learning media in the classroom using the Mentimeter application. The community service is conducted by implementing service learning at SMA Negeri 3 Palu in collaboration with the service team. The attendees comprised representatives from both the teaching and student communities. The implementation phase comprises the coordination phase, the program implementation phase (preceded by a pre-test), material provision, teacher and student trial, and the evaluation phase (post-test). The results of the service indicated that both teachers and students were unfamiliar with the Mentimeter application prior to the activity. Following the instruction, teachers and students engaged in practical exercises. Teachers are intrigued by the prospect of incorporating this application into their lessons due to the enthusiasm of students and their fondness for the media.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilakukan bertujuan memberikan pelatihan kepada guru kimia SMA untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berbasis game edukasi dengan menggunakan web Quick Ninja. Web Quick Ninja merupakan platform berbasis web yang memberikan kesempatan kepada penggunanya untuk membuat suatu game yang sederhana. Pengabdian dilakukan di SMAN 1 Kota Bengkulu dan di SMAN 9 Kota Bengkulu pada tanggal 18, 24, dan 27 Juli 2023. Peserta dari kegiatan ini sebanyak 20 guru kimia. Tahapan kegiatan pelatihan yang dilakukan adalah tahap pra-pengabdian, tahap pengabdian, dan tahap monitoring. Tahap pra-pengabdian terdiri dari perizinan, observasi awal, dan persiapan materi pelatihan. Tahap pelaksanaan terdiri dari kegiatan merancang pembelajaran berbasis game edukasi, dan mengembangkan game edukasi berbantuan Quick Ninja. Tahap monitoring terdiri dari presentasi hasil. Hasil yang dicapai dalam kegiatan pelatihan ini adalah peserta pelatihan memiliki kemampuan untuk mengembangkan game edukasi secara mandiri dan mendorong guru untuk memanfaatkan teknologi dalam pembelajaran. Produk yang dihasilkan sebanyak 9 game edukasi dengan berbeda materi. This community service aims to provide training to high school chemistry teachers to develop educational game-based learning media using the Quick Ninja website. The Web Quick Ninja is a web-based platform allowing its users to create simple games. The service was conducted at SMAN 1 Bengkulu and SMAN 9 Bengkulu on July 18, 24, and 27, 2023. Participants in this activity were 20 chemistry teachers. The stages of training activities carried out are the pre-service stage, service stage, and monitoring stage. The pre-service stage consists of permits, initial observations, and preparation of training materials. The implementation stage consists of designing educational game-based learning activities and developing educational games with the help of Quick Ninja. The monitoring stage consists of presenting the results. The results achieved in this training activity are that training participants can develop educational games independently and encourage teachers to utilize technology in learning. The products produced are nine educational games with different materials.

Abstract

Technology-based learning has been widely applied at various levels because it offers benefits and convenience for teachers and students. One example is a combination of offline and online learning called blended learning. It's just that teachers, both the concept and how to apply it, do not fully know this application; therefore, it is necessary to conduct training on the concepts and steps of application and supporting technology for blended learning for teachers. Mastery of applications in the Google Suite environment (Google Classroom, Google Forms, Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets) is important to manage blended learning optimally. This community service program aims to help teachers improve their competence in mastering IT for learning through training activities and mentoring in blended learning management utilizing Google Suite. The Participatory Action Research (PAR) method used in this activity provides space for participants to be active in learning the concepts and supporting technologies of blended learning. SMP Negeri 3 Banjarmasin is willing to be a partner in this activity. The needs of participants are the main foundation for the implementation of this training. Participants consisted of 24 people who came from various service periods and fields. The evaluation results of this activity revealed that 100% of participants believed it was easy to apply blended learning with the help of Google Suite. In addition, 92% of participants thought using Google Suite would make asynchronous classes more interesting. This activity succeeded in increasing the competence of participants in mastering IT, which was integrated into learning.

Abstract

Proyek GEMMES (Gerakan Memilah dan Mengolah Sampah) merupakan sebuah pengabdian masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk membentuk kepedulian lingkungan di TPQ Al Falah. Tujuan utama proyek ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan peserta TPQ tentang pemilahan dan pengolahan sampah anorganik dan organik. Metode yang digunakan dalam proyek ini meliputi sosialisasi, edukasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan. Pelaksanaan dilakukan pada 17-25 Mei 2023, dimulai dengan tahap sosialisasi, peserta diperkenalkan dengan konsep pemilahan sampah anorganik dan organik serta manfaatnya bagi lingkungan. Selanjutnya, peserta mendapatkan edukasi mendalam mengenai cara mengolah sampah organik menjadi kompos yang bermanfaat dan sampah anorganik menjadi Eco curtain (eccur) yang kreatif. Tahap pelatihan, peserta diberikan panduan praktis dalam pembuatan kompos dan eccur serta dilakukan praktik pemilahan sampah dengan tong sampah yang dicat warna-warni. Pendampingan dilakukan secara berkelanjutan untuk membentuk kebiasaan positif dalam memilah sampah dan mengolahnya. Hasil proyek ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan peserta TPQ tentang pemilahan sampah anorganik dan organik. Target sasaran mampu mengolah sampah menjadi kompos yang berkualitas dan menciptakan karya seni dari sampah anorganik. Proyek ini memberikan kontribusi yang positif dalam membentuk kesadaran dan kepedulian lingkungan di TPQ Al Falah. Kesimpulannya yaitu proyek GEMMES dengan metode sosialisasi, edukasi, pelatihan, dan pendampingan berhasil mencapai tujuan utamanya dalam membentuk kepedulian lingkungan di TPQ Al Falah, kerja sama dan dukungan yang baik dari pengurus dan ustazah TPQ merupakan faktor penting dalam kesuksesan proyek ini.The GEMMES project (Gerakan Memilah dan Mengolah Sampah) is a community service to form environmental awareness at TPQ Al Falah. The main objective of this project is to increase TPQ participants' knowledge about sorting and processing inorganic and organic waste. The methods used in this project include socialization, education, training, and mentoring. The implementation was carried out on May 17-25, 2023; starting with the socialization stage, participants were introduced to sorting inorganic and organic waste and its environmental benefits. Furthermore, participants received in-depth education on processing organic waste into useful compost and inorganic waste into creative Eco curtain (eccur). In the training phase, participants were given practical guidance in making compost and eccur and practiced sorting waste with colorfully painted trash cans. Mentoring is carried out continuously to form positive habits in sorting and processing waste. The results of this project showed a significant increase in TPQ participants' knowledge of sorting inorganic and organic waste. The target audience can process waste into quality compost and create artwork from inorganic waste. The project positively contributed to shaping environmental awareness and care at TPQ Al Falah. The conclusion is that the GEMMES project, with socialization, education, training, and mentoring methods, has achieved its main objective of shaping environmental awareness at TPQ Al Falah. Good cooperation and support from TPQ administrators and ustazah are important factors in the success of this project.

Abstract

The community in Habaring Hurung Urban Village, Bukit Batu District, Palangka Raya City, is grappling with the issue of accumulating household waste, primarily composed of organic waste. The prevalent practices of managing this waste, such as landfilling, burning, or haphazardly piling it around residential areas and roadsides, pose environmental and health risks. In response to this challenge, an initiative was undertaken to empower families in Habaring Hurung Urban Village through training sessions on creating disinfectants using eco enzymes derived from fermented organic waste. The method of implementing community service consists of the preparation stage, namely digging up information on training needs, and preparing materials and teaching aids; the implementation stage in the form of pre-final tests and training; and the last stage in the form of evaluation and reporting, took place on September 4, 2023, at the office hall of Habaring Hurung Urban Village. A total of 39 participants actively engaged in the training, displaying enthusiasm and a positive response. The results of the questionnaire also showed a fairly good level of satisfaction of all participants regarding the theme of the activity, the presentation was easy to understand, the participants' knowledge increased, and this activity should be continued by all participants where the percentage of participants who agreed showed a value of 56.4%. 51.3%, 66.7%, and 53% respectively. The ultimate goal of this initiative is to educate the local community on transforming organic waste into multifunction products for everyday use.

Abstract

Sekolah penggerak adalah program yang dicanangkan oleh pemerintah yang bertujuan untuk transformasi peningkatan kualitas pendidikan melalui pemerataan mutu dan peningkatan kualitas SDM. Salah satu bagian dari upaya peningkatan kualitas guru adalah peningkatan profesionalisme guru. Tujuan dilaksanakannya kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yaitu memberikan keterampilan serta pengetahuan mengenai penyusunan artikel ilmiah untuk publikasi ilmiah pada jurnal nasional maupun jurnal internasional. Manfaat langsung dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yaitu menambah kemampuan, pengetahuan serta pengalaman untuk guru sekolah penggerak di Kabupaten Grobogan dalam penyusunan artikel untuk publikasi ilmiah. Manfaat turunan yang diharapkan yaitu meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam penyusunan artikel ilmiah untuk publikasi sehingga kualitas serta kuantitas publikasi ilmiah guru pada sekolah penggerak di Kabupaten Grobogan meningkat. Bentuk pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat yaitu dalam bentuk pelatihan dengan memberikan materi serta praktik penyusunan artikel ilmiah untuk publikasi pada jurnal ilmiah. Sebanyak 30 orang guru sekolah penggerak sebagai khalayak sasaran dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Kabupaten Grobogan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat menggunakan tiga metode kegiatan yaitu metode ceramah, diskusi, dan praktik. Evaluasi kegiatan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini meliputi aspek pengetahuan, keterampilan, keaktifan peserta dan tingkat kehadiran. Hasil kegiatan ini yaitu peserta mampu dalam mempraktekkan materi terkait dengan penyusunan artikel ilmiah untuk publikasi pada jurnal nasional maupun jurnal internasional sehingga menambah pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru sekolah penggerak di Kabupaten Grobogan.Driving school is a program launched by the government that aims to transform the quality of education through equalizing quality and improving the quality of human resources. One part of efforts to enhance teacher quality is increasing teacher professionalism. Community service activities aim to provide skills and knowledge regarding preparing scientific articles for scientific publications in national and international journals. The direct benefit of community service activities is increasing the skills, knowledge, and experience of Sekolah Penggerak teachers in Grobogan Regency in preparing articles for scientific publications. The expected derivative benefits are increasing teachers' abilities to prepare scientific articles for publication so that the quality and quantity of teachers' scientific publications at driving schools in the Grobogan Regency increases. Implementing community service activities is training by providing material and practice in preparing scientific articles for publication in scientific journals. A total of 30 school teachers were the target audience for community service activities in Grobogan Regency. Implementing community service activities uses three activity methods: lecture, discussion, and practice. Evaluation of community service activities includes knowledge, skills, participant activity, and attendance level. The result of this activity is that participants can practice material related to preparing scientific articles for publication in national and international journals, thereby increasing the knowledge and skills of Sekolah Penggerak teachers in Grobogan Regency.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to assist chemistry teachers in the Banjar Regency Chemistry Teachers Working Group (MGMP) in developing learning evaluation materials. This training aims to improve the quality of learning in the Independent Curriculum for chemistry teachers in creating learning evaluations using Wordwall. Based on the questionnaire results filled out by MGMP chemistry teachers in the Banjar Regency, it was found that 50% of teachers stated that they were skilled enough in using technology in preparing learning evaluation materials. The methods in this activity are divided into three stages: pre-implementation, implementation, and post-implementation. Considering this condition, the community service team needs to address the problems teachers face by conducting training on preparing IT-based teaching materials held at SMAN 1 Martapura with two offline meetings attended by 21 teachers. Based on the training results, there was an improvement in teachers' understanding of creating interactive evaluation materials using Wordwall, and teachers' responses to the activity showed a good category. The interactive evaluation products produced can be used to assist the chemistry learning process.

Abstract

Kasus stunting di Kalimantan Selatan merupakan salah satu masalah yang kini dihadapi masyarakat terutama untuk anak-anak, bahkan di tahun 2022 masuk dalam tiga besar provinsi yang terbanyak ditemukan kasusnya. Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada masyarakat (PkM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman masyarakat terkait wawasan tentang stunting dan pencegahannya sejak dini. Mitra adalah warga masyarakat desa Purwosari II, Kecamatan Tamban, Kabupaten Barito Kuala Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan. Jumlah peserta mitra sebanyak 30 orang yang terdiri dari aparatur Desa, perempuan dan ibu-ibu. Tanggal Pelaksanaan pengabdian adalah 30 juli 2023. Masalah mitra adalah tingginya angka kejadian stunting di Kabupaten barito kuala dikarenakan faktor ekonomi dan minimnya pengetahuan masyarakat. Berdasarkan permasalahan mitra, metode untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah metode penyuluhan dan sosialisasi terkait peran perempuan dan ibu dalam melakukan pencegahan stunting secara Bersama.  Hasil kegiatan ini adalah terbentuknya pemahaman masyarakat penyebab dan cara pencegahan dan penanggulangan stunting dalam lini keluarga, hal ini terlihat dari persentase pemahaman masyarakat sebelum kegiatan pengabdian yang hanya sekitar 58,7% dan kemudian mengalami peningkatan menjadi 85,7% setelah diberikan pemahaman mendalam terkait informasi dan pencegahannya. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat mengenai stunting, penyebab stunting, bahaya stunting dan bagaimana pencegahan terhadap stunting.Stunting cases in South Kalimantan are one of the problems currently faced by the community, especially for children; even in 2022, they are among the top three provinces with the most cases. This Community Service (PkM) activity aims to increase public knowledge and understanding regarding insights about stunting and its prevention from an early age. Mitra resides in Purwosari II village, Tamban District, Barito Kuala Regency, South Kalimantan Province. The number of partner participants was 30 people, consisting of village officials, women, and mothers. The date of service is July 30, 2023. The problem of partners is the high incidence of stunting in Barito Kuala Regency due to economic factors and lack of public knowledge. Based on partner problems, the method to overcome these problems is counseling and socialization related to the role of women and mothers in preventing studying together. The result of this activity is the formation of community understanding of the causes and ways of preventing and overcoming stunting in the family line; this can be seen from the percentage of community understanding before service activities, which was only around 58.7% and then increased to 85.7% after being given a deep understanding of information and prevention. The conclusion of this activity is to increase public knowledge about stunting, its causes, its dangers, and how to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Cassava is one of the food commodities grown in Suka Menang Village. The people of Suka Menang Village only sell fresh cassava and process it into daily foods such as boiled and fried cassava. Cassava also has the potential to be used as raw material for steamed brownies. Steamed cassava brownies do not use wheat flour, which is the advantage of steamed cassava brownies. This activity aimed to introduce steamed cassava brownies and to increase the Suka Menang Village community's knowledge of the processing technology of steamed cassava brownies. The target audience was the community of Suka Menang Village. The method used was Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR). The activity consisted of 2 stages: 1) a hedonic test of steamed brownies products, and 2)socialization of the potential of cassava and cassava steamed brownies processing and the practice of cassava steamed brownies processing. The results showed that cassava could be processed into steamed brownies. Based on the sensory properties test, the steamed cassava brownies were preferred and acceptable. In addition, there was an increase in the target audience's understanding of the material presented, which was 12.87%. Through this activity, the people of Suka Menang Village had skills in processing cassava-steamed brownies.

Abstract

The improvement of education quality can be supported by the utilization of technology such as Augmented Reality (AR) as a learning media that can help teachers visualize the material. Prospective teachers need to understand the benefits of using AR as a learning media and be motivated to realize it. This education activity aims to increase the knowledge of prospective science teachers regarding the utilization of AR as a learning media and how to create it. The target participants in this education activity are prospective science teacher students from various universities in Indonesia. The participants who attended this education activity were 115 prospective science teacher students from several universities in Indonesia. Data collection of participant responses used a questionnaire consisting of 10 statements and one open-ended question regarding the participants' messages and impressions of this education activity. Participants gave very good responses, averaging 82% towards this activity. These response results indicate that this education activity achieved its goals in terms of the number of participants and the types of responses from participants. Participants are interested in this activity and motivated to practice creating AR media.
