Abstract

The implementation of deep learning in Indonesian junior high schools remains challenging due to teachers’ limited understanding and practical readiness. This community service program aimed to enhance teachers’ knowledge of deep learning principles within the Merdeka Curriculum and to support them in developing deep learning-based teaching materials. The program involved training and mentoring 46 teachers from two public junior high schools in Yogyakarta using workshops, guided practice, and follow-up support. Data were collected through a knowledge quiz, a participant satisfaction questionnaire, and document analysis of the developed learning modules. The results show that teachers achieved a good level of understanding of deep learning concepts (mean score = 8.1), expressed high satisfaction with the program, and successfully produced learning modules that reflected key characteristics of deep learning and were ready for classroom use. These findings indicate that structured professional development can effectively support teachers in implementing deep learning within the Merdeka Curriculum and may serve as a practical model for similar school-based training programs.

Abstract

Taxes are one of the main sources of state revenue to support development and public services. However, cases of tax abuse in Bondowoso are still common. To address this issue, the SIMPARI application was developed to improve transparency, efficiency, and accountability in tax collection in Wonosari District, Bondowoso Regency. This activity aims to improve transparency, efficiency, and accountability in tax collection through a technology-based application and to provide adaptive technological solutions for areas with limited internet access. The community service activity was carried out using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which was analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods, by maximizing Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with the target group of the activity, namely 75 tax collectors in Wonosari District and 75 community respondents or taxpayers. The results of the community empowerment activities show that the SIMPARI application can be used and utilized by tax officers and the community. In addition, the impact of the activities shows that the community and tax officers also have a high level of satisfaction after the implementation of the SIMPARI application and are committed to using the SIMPARI application as a process for collecting and monitoring PBB-P2 and PBHTB taxes.

Abstract

Tourism villages that are inclusive, adaptive, and sustainable Wanurejo Tourism Village, located near Borobudur Temple in Magelang, Central Java, possesses remarkable potential in culture, nature, creative economy, and community-based tourism. However, challenges remain, including limited digital literacy, suboptimal tourism promotion, and manual village administration services. This community service program aimed to implement digital transformation by developing the “Smart Desa” (DEWI—Desa Wisata Wanurejo) Android application, which integrates public services, local MSME promotion, and tourism information. The service method used in the digitalization program for Wanurejo Tourism Village can be categorized as Participatory Action Research (PAR), as the entire process emphasizes active community involvement—from problem identification and planning to action and evaluation. A training module and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) were developed to strengthen digital literacy and ensure sustainability. The results indicate that the Smart Desa application successfully digitalized at least five administrative services, engaged over 500 active users, and facilitated the participation of 20 MSMEs within six months. Digital literacy training improved community competence, with 70% of participants demonstrating enhanced skills. Digital promotion on social media increased the village account's followers by 5,000, boosting tourist visits and MSME transactions. Additionally, supporting infrastructure, such as Wi-Fi access points and digital information boards, was provided, while youth forums were established to manage digital content and tourism packages. This program demonstrates that digital transformation not only enhances service efficiency and transparency but also empowers communities, strengthens economic competitiveness, and fosters sustainable tourism development. The initiative aligns with SDGs 8, 9, and 11 and supports higher education performance indicators by involving lecturers, students, and the local community. Overall, Wanurejo Tourism Village has become a model for smart tourism pratices.

Abstract

Craftsmen in Madara Sasirangan lack skills in producing and marketing natural Sasirangan products. To address this, training on natural color Sasirangan technology will be provided in Sasirangan Village, enhancing their production and marketing knowledge and skills. The method used is four stages, namely the 1) Socialization, 2) Training, 3) Monitoring and Evaluation, and 4) Program Continuation stages. Community service was attended by 15 participants/craftsmen for eight meetings from October to November 2025. Lectures and discussions on natural dye extraction techniques, Sasirangan production, and marketing media were held in three meetings. Demonstrations/practices of making natural color Sasirangan from plants were held in three meetings. Furthermore, monitoring and evaluation were held in two meetings. The evaluation results are that (1) There are various types of colors produced from natural dye sources. The suitability between pigment compounds and materials, extraction processes, mordanting, and dyeing can produce good coloring. (2) Participants have an understanding and skills in making Sasirangan natural dyes and marketing them of 80% (good category). Training enhances participants' empowerment in natural Sasirangan product production and marketing, with a focus on natural dye extraction, biomordants for durability, consumer education, and support for sustainable businesses.

Abstract

Human resource development is a key focus in the development of the Indonesian capital city. Elementary and secondary schools in Sepaku Regency, Penajam Paser Utara Regency, are the closest buffer zone to the New Capital City. Therefore, the quality of these schools is crucial in facilitating the development of the younger generation around the New Capital City. Adjustments to curriculum documents serve as guidelines for school administration, ensuring the quality of educational services provided. Therefore, training and mentoring in school curriculum development are crucial and have become the aim of this program. The method of this mentoring program was implemented through five phases from 2024 to 2025, with 12 elementary schools and two junior high schools in Sepaku District participating. The mentoring result demonstrated that each school was able to create comprehensive and aligned curriculum documents with a focus on in-depth learning. Challenges encountered during the training process included changes in the number of school representatives present at the training and mentoring activities. In early 2025, there was a shift in the curriculum guidelines toward in-depth learning. The finalization process for mentoring, incorporating key elements of in-depth learning into the curriculum documents, has been completed. It can be concluded that mentoring could support schools to re-focus their curriculum.

Abstract

The implementation of TPACK-P faces several challenges, including limitations in utilizing technology that aligns with the science curriculum based on scientific literacy, a lack of continuous professional training for teachers, and the need to adapt teaching methods to accommodate students’ multicultural backgrounds. Therefore, efforts are needed to strengthen TPACK-P through intensive training and research-based practice to enhance Science Literacy 2025 and improve the effectiveness of science learning. The method in this study used training or workshops. The implementation mechanism of this community service program consists of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The training activities were conducted through direct workshops with participants from Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and science teachers in Yogyakarta. Data on teachers’ experiences in using TPACK-P were collected using instruments distributed via Google Forms and analyzed using a descriptive qualitative approach. The results showed that 96% of teachers possessed knowledge related to TPACK-P, while only 88% had classroom experience applying it. This indicates that the training provided teachers with valuable hands-on experience in using TPACK-P to design science learning

Abstract

Village-owned drinking water enterprises in Indonesia have required better tools for metering, billing, and payment to replace fragmented paper-based workflows. This work aimed to design, implement, and evaluate a web-based information system (PAMDESKU) for a village water enterprise, while strengthening local capacity through the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach. A web-based application was developed and deployed with modules for customer data, tariffs, meter readings, billing, payments, and reporting, alongside safeguards for authorization, logging, and backup, which was named PAMDESKU. Baseline usability had been poor; after implementation and mentoring, the SUS score increased to the “Good to Use” range, with concurrent reductions in data entry errors and reporting time and improved transparency of billing information. The coupling of ABCD with end-to-end digitalization enabled a locally owned and sustainable service transformation. The approach yielded measurable usability and efficiency improvements and offers a replicable pathway for other village enterprises pursuing Smart Village objectives.

Abstract

This report presents an analysis of e-commerce performance as a result of the community service program (Pengabdian Masyarakat/PkM) at the Myna Gawosa Fish Cultivators Group (Pokdakan), Banjarnegara. The objective of this community service program is to address the limitations of conventional marketing through the implementation of e-commerce-based digital marketing technology to expand market reach and improve the welfare of fish farmers. The PkM implementation method is carried out in stages, including program socialization, digital literacy and content creation training, e-commerce technology application, as well as mentoring and periodic evaluation. The target of the PkM activities is the Myna Gawosa Farmers Group, which cultivates ornamental and consumption fish. Overall, the digital platform shows a positive impact on business volume: Total Revenue grew significantly by 36.8%, driven by a sharp increase in the Number of Orders by 120.0%. However, this success is offset by a drastic decrease in the Average Order Value (AOV) by -37.8%. In conclusion, the business successfully drove transaction volume but faces three major strategic issues: daily revenue volatility, declining AOV, and a customer base that is too small. Strategic recommendations include the development of upselling and cross-selling techniques, as well as more intensive digital marketing campaigns for acquiring new customers.
