Abstract

Caffeine is the most widely consumed psychoactive substance in the world and has stimulating effects on the central nervous system. It is commonly used to enhance alertness and performance. However, excessive consumption may lead to negative effects such as sleep disturbances, anxiety, and dependence. This study aims to analyze the effect of caffeine consumption on human physiological responses, particularly stimulation and dependence.This study used a quantitative cross-sectional design with 60 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires and analyzed using Chi-Square and logistic regression tests.The results showed that 58.3% of respondents had high caffeine consumption, 63.3% experienced high stimulation, and 56.7% showed dependence. There was a significant relationship between caffeine consumption and stimulation (p=0.002) as well as dependence (p=0.001). Logistic regression analysis revealed that caffeine consumption was the most dominant factor influencing dependence (OR=5.21).In conclusion, caffeine has beneficial stimulatory effects but excessive consumption increases the risk of dependence.

Abstract

Early childhood character development is a crucial focus in modern education because social changes and the learning environment shape children's moral values and social behavior. The school environment is viewed as a key factor in character formation through social interactions, the instilling of values, and the role models of teachers. This study aims to analyze the role of the school environment in early childhood character development within the context of religious-based elementary education. The study employed a quantitative, descriptive-correlational design with early elementary school students as participants. The research instrument used a teacher observation scale to assess character dimensions, including discipline, responsibility, empathy, cooperation, honesty, and independence. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and linear regression to identify the relationship between the quality of the school environment and student character development. The results indicate that a positive school environment contributes significantly to children's character development through a school culture that supports the instilling of moral values ​​and constructive social interactions. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening the school climate as a primary strategy in character education for early childhood.

Abstract

Ship seaworthiness is a vital aspect of shipping safety that relies heavily on the integrity of the ship's structure, where corrosion poses a primary threat. To mitigate this risk, the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) is implemented as a planned maintenance standard in accordance with the ISM Code and international regulations. This study aims to analyze the mitigation of the corrosion rate in the implementation of the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) on MV. Bukit Raya to ensure ship seaworthiness. Using descriptive qualitative methods and Gap Analysis, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the implementation of PMS is not yet optimal due to tight operational schedules and short port stays, leading to improvisational maintenance. Non-compliance with surface preparation standards (ISO 8501-1) was found, often prioritized for aesthetic targets. This results in coating failures (blistering) and recurring corrosion, necessitating stricter supervision of technical maintenance standards.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model assisted by animated videos in IPAS learning on the learning outcomes of third-grade elementary school students. This research employed a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The research subjects consisted of students from classes III A and III B at the selected elementary school, with a total of 35 students. Based on the results obtained from the pre-test and post-test instruments, it was found that the class taught using the Project-Based Learning model assisted by animated videos achieved higher learning outcomes compared to the class that relied solely on textbooks during the learning process. This finding was supported by the results of the Independent Samples Test, which showed a significance value (2-tailed) of < 0.001, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. Therefore, the implementation of the Project-Based Learning model assisted by animated videos has a significant effect on the IPAS learning result of elementary school students in Phase A.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of building students' religious character through religious activities at school. One effort undertaken is through the dawn prayer activities at MI Al-Hikmah Palembang. This study aims to determine the implementation of dawn prayer activities, their role in improving students' religious character, as well as supporting and inhibiting factors in their implementation. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The research subjects consisted of supervising teachers, homeroom teachers, and students. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, while data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that dawn prayer activities are carried out routinely with a series of activities such as opening, reading the Qur'an, memorizing the pillars of faith and Islam, practicing the call to prayer and iqamah, reading prayer readings, collective dhikr, and delivering a sermon. This activity plays a role in improving students' religious character through habituating worship, instilling religious values, and training discipline, courage, and responsibility. Supporting factors include support from the school, teachers, and parents, while inhibiting factors include suboptimal student discipline and differences in student abilities. Thus, dawn prayer activities are effective in shaping the religious character of students in the madrasah environment.

Abstract

Disharmonious family conditions are often a factor hindering students' learning success at school. This study aims to analyze the learning challenges experienced by elementary school students from broken homes and the mentoring strategies implemented by homeroom teachers and principals. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study method at SDN 08 Biau, Buol Regency, with a student from a broken home, the homeroom teacher, and the principal as subjects. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that students from broken homes face challenges such as decreased learning motivation, difficulty concentrating, emotional instability, and vulnerability to peer teasing. Lack of parental support and unfavorable home conditions also impact students' academic development. The strategies implemented include individual guidance, adjusted evaluations, motivation, study groups, and supporting activities such as watching educational films together. This mentoring has been proven to help increase students' enthusiasm for learning, participation, and self-confidence. This research is expected to serve as a reference for teachers and schools in designing learning strategies that are friendly to students from broken homes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of gross motor development among early-grade students in the Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) subject at SD Negeri 1 Banyuning. The study employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. The research subjects consisted of 115 students in grades 1–3. The instrument used was the MOBAK (Motorische Basiskompetenzen), which covers two domains: objective motor skills (object movement) and self-motor skills (self movement). Data collection was conducted through performance tests, which were then analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean, standard deviation, and percentage. The results showed that in the objective motor skills domain, students’ abilities fell into the low to adequate categories, with catching as the highest achievement (62%) and throwing as the lowest (41.5%). Meanwhile, in the self-movement domain, students’ abilities fell into the adequate to good categories, with balance as the highest achievement (73%) and jumping as the lowest (54%). Overall, students’ gross motor development level was in the adequate category. The conclusion of this study indicates that students’ gross motor skills have developed, but not uniformly across all skill aspects. Therefore, more varied and structured physical education instruction is needed to optimally enhance students’ motor development. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat perkembangan motorik kasar siswa kelas awal pada mata pelajaran Pendidikan Jasmani, Olahraga, dan Kesehatan (PJOK) di SD Negeri 1 Banyuning. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Subjek penelitian berjumlah 115 siswa kelas I–III. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah MOBAK (Motorische Basiskompetenzen) yang mencakup dua domain, yaitu motorik objektif (object movement) dan motorik diri (self movement). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes kinerja, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif berupa rata-rata, standar deviasi, dan persentase. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada domain motorik objektif, kemampuan siswa berada pada kategori kurang hingga cukup, dengan aspek menangkap sebagai capaian tertinggi (62%) dan melempar sebagai capaian terendah (41,5%). Sementara itu, pada domain motorik diri, kemampuan siswa berada pada kategori cukup hingga baik, dengan keseimbangan sebagai capaian tertinggi (73%) dan melompat sebagai capaian terendah (54%). Secara keseluruhan, tingkat perkembangan motorik kasar siswa berada pada kategori cukup. Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan motorik kasar siswa telah berkembang, namun belum merata pada setiap aspek keterampilan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pembelajaran PJOK yang lebih variatif dan terstruktur untuk meningkatkan perkembangan motorik siswa secara optimal.

Abstract

Various student learning styles make student learning styles a preferred habit during the learning process. This study aims to analyze the learning styles of class IVA students in the differentiated learning program at SDN Sendangmulyo 02 Semarang. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews, and questionnaires given to students to obtain accurate data. The results reveal that teachers can better cope with the diversity of learning styles by gaining a deep understanding of their students' learning styles and adapting their teaching strategies accordingly. This study shows that among the 28 students of SD Negeri Sendangmulyo 02 Semarang studied, 54% showed a visual learning style, 29% had an auditory learning style, and 18% had a kinesthetic learning style. Differentiated learning was found to be an effective approach to accommodate these varied learning styles.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of learning music arts based on local culture as an effort to foster an attitude of respect for national culture and improve the quality of student learning outcomes in elementary schools. This study aims to determine the relationship between students' appreciation of traditional music performances and student learning outcomes in the Music Arts subject for fifth grade at SDN Sukasari 2, Sukasari Village, Cisaat District, Sukabumi Regency. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research type. The sample in this study was all 25 fifth grade students, using a cluster sampling technique. The research instruments used consisted of a student appreciation questionnaire compiled using a Likert scale with five alternative answers, as well as a music arts learning outcome test. The data obtained were then analyzed using descriptive statistics and the Pearson Product Moment correlation test. The results showed that the level of student appreciation for traditional music performances was in the high category. This was indicated by the dominance of student answers in the agree and strongly agree categories on the appreciation questionnaire. Student learning outcomes also showed good achievements, with 92% of students obtaining scores above the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM) set by the school. Furthermore, the correlation analysis revealed a positive relationship between students' appreciation of traditional music performances and their musical arts learning outcomes. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that students' appreciation of traditional music performances plays a crucial role in supporting successful musical arts learning. Therefore, local culture-based musical arts learning needs to be continuously developed to enhance students' appreciative attitudes and their learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' numeracy skills in fractions. The study used a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The subjects were 20 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 106205 Pasar Baru who were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The research instrument was a test in the form of six essay numeracy questions, which covered three cognitive processes of numeracy: understanding, application, and reasoning. Before being used, the instrument was first tested for validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminatory power of the questions. The trial resulted in all questions being categorized as valid, having very high reliability, moderate difficulty level, and having good discriminatory power. The results showed that students' numeracy abilities were most dominant in the application category, with a percentage of 87.5%, followed by understanding at 47.5% and reasoning at 15%. Thus, it was obtained that fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 106205 Pasar Baru were more able to apply the concept of fractions in routine situations, but still had difficulty in understanding the concept in depth and reasoning in numeracy. Common mistakes students make when solving numeracy problems include rushing to determine the answer, not understanding the question's intent, and not following the steps correctly.
