Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing phenomenon of online game usage among elementary Islamic school students, which potentially affects language politeness in social interactions. The purpose of this study is to determine the intensity level and types of online games played by students, describe the forms of students' language politeness in social interactions, and analyze the influence of online gaming on students' language politeness at MI Ma'ariful Ulum Palembang. The method used is a quantitative method with a simple linear regression approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by distributing questionnaires to 125 respondents selected using simple random sampling technique. The research instrument consisted of 50 Likert-scale statements that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was performed using IBM SPSS version 26 through validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, linearity tests, simple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination. The results showed that the intensity level of students' online gaming was in the moderately intensive category with a mean score of 79.00, dominated by MOBA and FPS type games. Students' language politeness was generally in the polite category with a mean score of 93.39. Based on the regression analysis, the equation Y = 28.440 – 0.191X was obtained with a t-value of -3.839 and a significance of 0.000 < 0.05, proving that online games have a negative and significant effect on students' language politeness. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.202 indicates that online games contribute 20.2% to the variation in students' language politeness, while the remaining 79.8% is influenced by other factors outside this study.

Abstract

Physics instruction at a private high school in Medan still focuses on lectures, which results in students being less active in class and their critical thinking skills needing improvement. Additionally, instructional models and media that engage students in problem-solving have not been successful. The conditions of physics instruction, students’ critical thinking skills, and the need to implement a problem-based learning (PBL) model supported by worksheets in physics instruction are the objectives of this study. This study was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method and a preliminary survey (pre-study). The research subjects consisted of 25 eleventh-grade students and one physics teacher. Data were collected through interviews and questionnaires. Qualitative descriptive analysis was performed on the interview data, and percentage analysis was performed on the questionnaire data. The results of the study indicate that students require more active and engaging learning that involves direct problem-solving; their interest in the use of learning media increased by 85% and fell into the high category, the problem-based learning model increased by 82% and fell into the high category, and their critical thinking skills increased by 78% and fell into the fairly high category. This study found that the implementation of a problem-based learning model supported by worksheets can help improve students’ learning activities and critical thinking skills in physics learning.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum requires teachers to create student-centered learning and meaningful learning experiences. One of the approaches that supports the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum is deep learning, which emphasizes deep understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This study aims to describe the use of deep learning methods in geography learning within the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in senior high schools in West Sumatra. This study employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 30 geography teachers from the Darek and Pasisia regions of West Sumatra. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using descriptive percentage analysis. The results showed that the use of deep learning methods in geography learning was categorized as ready with a percentage of 75%. Teachers' understanding of deep learning concepts reached 78%, project-based learning implementation reached 76%, and the ability to encourage students' critical thinking reached 79%. The findings indicate that geography teachers have attempted to implement meaningful learning through contextual learning, project-based activities, and environmental phenomena analysis. However, challenges remain in the form of limited learning technology utilization and uneven supporting facilities. Therefore, the use of deep learning methods can support the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and improve the quality of geography learning in senior high schools in West Sumatra.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of AI-based chatbots raises a fundamental psychological question: why do users develop genuine emotional attachments to systems that lack consciousness? This article systematically examines the role of anthropomorphism, the human tendency to attribute human-like characteristics to AI, as the primary psychological mechanism driving emotional attachment formation in chatbot users. Using a narrative-thematic literature review of twelve empirical sources published between 2021 and 2026, the findings reveal that empathic and responsive language design consistently triggers anthropomorphic perception, which in turn reinforces emotional closeness, self-disclosure, and affective dependency toward AI. This attachment is bidirectional: it provides short-term psychological benefits while carrying risks of emotional dependency that may supplant authentic social relationships. Implications include the need for transparent AI design regulation, digital-emotional literacy programs, and systematic psychological input in chatbot development.

Abstract

Epistemology is the study of the sources, nature, and methods of acquiring knowledge. From an Islamic perspective, knowledge is acquired not only through reason and empirical experience, but also through revelation and intuition, which are related to the spiritual dimension of humankind. Understanding these sources of knowledge is crucial in building a foundation for knowledge within the Islamic intellectual tradition. This study aims to examine the construction of the foundation for knowledge in Islam through an epistemological perspective, examining revelation as a source of knowledge and the role of reason and intuition as instruments in understanding and developing knowledge. This study employed a qualitative method with library research. Data were obtained through documentation studies of various relevant literature and analyzed using descriptive-analytical methods. The results show that in Islamic epistemology, revelation serves as a divine source of truth and is the primary foundation for knowledge, while reason and intuition serve as instruments used by humans to understand, develop, and internalize that knowledge. The integration of these three forms a comprehensive and balanced Islamic epistemological system in building a foundation for knowledge.

Abstract

Although humanistic counseling in school settings has received increasing attention in prior studies, research specifically addressing its role in developing the self-potential of Indonesian adolescents remains limited. This study aims to examine the role of Carl Rogers' person-centered humanistic counseling approach in supporting adolescent self-potential development in school settings through a systematic literature review. A qualitative approach was employed using a systematic literature review (SLR) design following the PRISMA protocol, involving 25 scientific literatures published between 2014 and 2024, selected from Google Scholar, ERIC, and Garuda databases. Data were collected through systematic searches using Boolean operators and analyzed thematically across six main themes. The findings indicate that Rogers' three core facilitative conditions, namely congruence, unconditional positive regard, and accurate empathy, create a psychologically safe environment that enables adolescents to explore and develop their potential. These results contribute to the theoretical development of person-centered counseling in educational psychology. The study concludes that humanistic counseling plays a crucial role in shifting school counseling from a problem-based to a growth-oriented paradigm, and recommends that school counselors receive comprehensive training in humanistic approaches. The implications include theoretical contributions to the literature on self-actualization in adolescent development and practical recommendations for school counseling policy in Indonesia.

Abstract

Indonesia's macroeconomic stability over the past few decades has been characterized by dynamics influenced by fluctuations in inflation and interest rate changes, two key indicators that are the primary focus of monetary policy. However, previous studies have shown inconsistent results regarding how these two variables affect economic growth, necessitating updated analyses with longer data sets. This study aims to analyze the influence of inflation and interest rates on Indonesia's economic growth based on time series data from 1990 to 2024. This study is associative, using secondary data obtained from Statistics Indonesia and the World Bank. The analysis was conducted using stationarity tests and multiple linear regression. The results indicate that inflation has a significant and negative effect on economic growth, while interest rates have no significant effect. This finding indicates that inflation stabilization plays a more dominant role in supporting economic growth than interest rate management during the study period. This study provides an empirical contribution to the Indonesian macroeconomic literature by emphasizing the importance of long-term inflation control policies to maintain sustainable national economic growth.

Abstract

Islamic education in the contemporary era faces significant challenges in aligning religious traditions with the rapid development of digital technology. This study aims to analyze the design of an Islamic education curriculum that integrates moral values with technological competencies to shape a superior generation. The research method used is a qualitative approach with library research, where data is collected from various scientific literature related to digital transformation in Islamic educational institutions. The results show that effective curriculum integration must encompass three main aspects: 1) a pedagogical aspect that emphasizes the internalization of the values of honesty, responsibility, and cooperation in digital activities; 2) a content aspect that aligns the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith with the needs of 21st-century skills; and 3) a technological aspect through the use of online learning platforms, the digitization of teaching materials, and the use of interactive media. Curriculum strengthening strategies are implemented through increasing the digital capacity of educators, the use of adaptive technology for personalized learning, and a project-based assessment system. This study concludes that the synergy between technological competency and Islamic ethical foundations is the main key

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) cooperative learning model in improving the learning outcomes of sixth-grade elementary school students in Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK). This study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 13 sixth-grade students. Data were collected through learning outcome tests, affective observations, and psychomotor assessments. Data analysis techniques included descriptive analysis, N-Gain testing, and hypothesis testing using a paired sample t-test. The results showed an increase in students’ average scores from 85.38 on the pretest to 93.08 on the posttest. The paired sample t-test results indicated that the calculated t-value of 6.50 was higher than the t-table value of 2.18 at a 5% significance level, meaning that H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. These findings indicate that the STAD model was effective in improving PJOK learning outcomes and creating a more active, collaborative, and participatory learning environment. In addition, the STAD model positively influenced students’ cooperation, responsibility, and self-confidence during the learning process. Keywords: keyword 1, keyword 2, keyword 3
