Abstract

The development of the digital economy has transformed business models and consumer behaviour, thereby prompting Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs) to adapt in order to ensure the sustainability of their businesses. This study aims to analyse the survival strategies employed by MSMEs in the face of the digital economy’s development, as well as to identify the factors that support and hinder the adaptation process. The research employs a qualitative approach using the case study method. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with two MSME operators in the vicinity of Jakarta State University and supported by a literature review. Data analysis utilised Talcott Parsons’ Theory of Adaptation, William F. Ogburn’s Theory of Social Change, and Max Weber’s Theory of Social Action. The results indicate that MSME operators utilise social media as a promotional tool and QRIS as a digital payment method to support their business activities. The utilisation of these technologies facilitates transactions, improves service quality, and expands market reach. However, the adaptation process still faces obstacles in the form of limited digital literacy, internet connectivity issues, and sub-optimal technological skills. Furthermore, good service, communication with customers, and the ability to build consumer loyalty are key factors in sustaining the business. This study concludes that the combined use of digital technology and high-quality service is a key strategy for MSMEs to survive and thrive in the digital economy.

Abstract

The background of this research is the low cognitive ability of Group B children at Al Fikri Kindergarten, North Bengkulu, particularly in recognizing the concept of number symbols. This study aims to improve children's ability to recognize number symbols from 1 to 10 through the implementation of constructive play utilizing waste materials, specifically plastic bottle caps. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), adapting Kurt Lewin's model. The study was conducted in two cycles, with each cycle comprising the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were 14 students of Group B (8 boys and 6 girls) aged 5–6 years at Al Fikri Kindergarten in Tebat Pacur Village, North Bengkulu Regency. Data collection techniques were carried out through observations using checklist sheets, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using qualitative-reflective and descriptive-quantitative methods to determine the percentage of children's classical mastery. The results showed a constant and significant increase in children's cognitive abilities in each cycle. In the initial condition (Pre-Cycle), the average percentage of classical mastery for children achieving the minimum criteria of Developing as Expected (BSH) was only 19.1%. After the constructive play intervention was implemented, the children's classical mastery increased to 42.9% in Cycle I, and jumped drastically to reach 88.1% at the end of Cycle II. This final achievement successfully exceeded the predetermined classical success indicator of ≥ 75%.

Abstract

The acceleration of digital technology stimulates a fundamental transformation in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), requiring madrasahs to optimize technological utility without reducing Islamic values. This study analyzes the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation in PAI learning at MTs Hang Nadim Batam. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative method, data were gathered through observations and interviews with the headmaster, teachers, and students, then analyzed using an interactive model. The findings indicate that digitalization successfully expands access to learning resources, enriches instructional media, enhances flexibility, and escalates students' digital literacy. Nevertheless, implementation encounters determinant obstacles, including a disparity in teachers' digital competence, challenges in students' self-regulation, internet connectivity limitations, and the urgency of digital supervision. Ultimately, the success of this digital transformation heavily depends on the integrated readiness of human resources, mature supporting infrastructure, firm institutional policies, and the collaborative synergy of all school stakeholders.

Abstract

Epistemology is a branch of philosophy that examines the nature, sources, validity, and limitations of human knowledge. In education, epistemology provides a philosophical foundation for the development and validation of educational knowledge. This study aims to analyze the role of epistemology in educational knowledge development, identify the sources and criteria of scientific knowledge, explore major epistemological paradigms, and examine their relevance to Deep Learning and educational research. Using a library research approach, data were collected from books, scientific journals, and other relevant academic sources and analyzed through descriptive qualitative methods. The findings show that educational knowledge originates from empirical experience, reason, intuition, authority, and revelation. Scientific knowledge in education must meet the criteria of rationality, objectivity, empiricism, systematic organization, verifiability, and communicability. Furthermore, epistemological paradigms, including empiricism, rationalism, criticism, and constructivism, have significantly influenced learning theories and research methodologies. The study also reveals that Deep Learning aligns closely with constructivist epistemology, emphasizing learners’ active role in constructing knowledge through meaningful, mindful, and joyful learning experiences. Therefore, understanding epistemology is essential for educators and researchers in producing valid, relevant, and accountable educational knowledge and supporting the implementation of Deep Learning in contemporary education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Smart Snakes and Ladders (UTAR) media on the tolerance attitude of fifth-grade students on the subject of ethnic diversity at SD Negeri 51 Pekanbaru. The research is motivated by the still low tolerance and cooperation attitudes of students and the use of learning media that has not been able to increase learning participation optimally. The study used a quantitative approach with a Pre-Experimental One Group Pre-test–Post-test design. The research sample consisted of 20 fifth-grade A students selected using saturated sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation, while data analysis included the Shapiro–Wilk normality test, Paired Sample t-Test, simple linear regression, Effect Size Cohen's d, and descriptive analysis. The results showed that UTAR media had a positive and significant effect on students' tolerance attitudes with a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (<0.05), an effect size Cohen's d value of 2.76 (very large effect category), and a coefficient of determination (R Square) value of 0.450. The average tolerance score increased from 78.50 to 91.62, with a change in the category from 75% of students in the good category to 100% in the good category. Thus, the Smart Snakes and Ladders (UTAR) media effectively increases tolerance through interactive, collaborative, contextual, and student-centered learning.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the conformity of sports facilities and infrastructure at SD Negeri 207 Lemo Lemo with the standards established by the Minister of National Education Regulation and national sports organization provisions. The main problem addressed is the gap between the factual condition of sports facilities in elementary schools in remote areas and the minimum standards that should be met to support the learning process of Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK). The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a field survey approach. Data collection techniques include direct observation, documentation, interviews with the principal, PJOK teachers, and students, as well as filling in checklist instruments based on Permendiknas Number 24 of 2007. The results show that most sports facilities and infrastructure at SD Negeri 207 Lemo Lemo do not meet the established standards, both in terms of quantity and quality. The main sports field does not have appropriate dimensions, PJOK learning equipment is in unusable condition, and there are no changing rooms or sports equipment storage facilities. This condition hampers the achievement of students' basic competencies in PJOK subjects. This study recommends that local governments and schools prioritize the procurement and maintenance of sports facilities as a long-term investment in improving the quality of physical education.

Abstract

This research seeks to investigate how Islamic Education (PAI) teachers put professional ethics into practice when interacting with tenth-grade students at SMK Jaifaq. The ethical conduct of teachers is essential for establishing a supportive learning atmosphere and influencing the moral development and character of students. A descriptive qualitative method was used for this study, gathering data through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The participants included the PAI teacher along with the tenth-grade students. Results show that the PAI teacher has worked to incorporate professional ethics during lessons. This is evident in the teacher's respectful communication, patience, fairness, and initiatives to inspire students. Moreover, the teacher exemplifies strong role modeling through everyday actions. Nonetheless, some challenges emerged, such as varying student characteristics and a lack of discipline exhibited by certain students during lessons. In summary, the role of PAI teachers in applying professional ethics is vital for enhancing positive interactions in the classroom and aiding in the development of students’ character. Therefore, continuous efforts are needed to maintain and enhance teachers’ consistency in applying professional ethics

Abstract

A culture of literacy in schools requires a supportive environment consciously built by the entire school community. This study aims to describe the condition of the literacy ecosystem at SMPN 02 Paninggaran, identify challenges faced, and map potential development opportunities. The research used a descriptive qualitative approach using observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results indicate that the school has a regular reading program, an active library, and strong leadership support. However, literacy development still faces obstacles such as low student interest in reading, the lack of a School Literacy Team, limited variety of reading materials, and minimal parental involvement. On the other hand, the principal's commitment, teacher dedication, available facilities, and openness to digital innovation represent potential opportunities that can be optimized. With program strengthening and collaboration between various parties, SMPN 02 Paninggaran has the opportunity to build a stronger and more sustainable literacy ecosystem.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of entrepreneurship-based Social Studies (IPS) learning in improving students’ independence. Social Studies learning plays a strategic role in developing students’ character and life skills, particularly independence, which is essential in facing social and economic challenges. This research employed a qualitative approach using a literature study method. Data were collected from national and international journal articles published within the last ten years that are relevant to entrepreneurship-based learning, Social Studies education, and students’ independence. The data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing to obtain a comprehensive understanding of the research focus. The findings indicate that the implementation of entrepreneurship-based Social Studies learning can be effectively carried out through contextual learning strategies, project-based learning, and problem-based learning. These learning activities encourage students to actively participate in identifying social and economic problems, making decisions, managing resources, and taking responsibility for their learning processes and outcomes. As a result, students demonstrate increased independence, creativity, and self-confidence in learning. In conclusion, entrepreneurship-based Social Studies learning has a positive impact on enhancing students’ independence and can be used as an alternative learning strategy to support the achievement of Social Studies learning objectives in schools.
