Abstract

Personal letter writing skills are one of the competencies that elementary school students need to master. However, the results of observations indicate that the personal letter writing skills of third-grade students of SD 1 Wergu Wetan are still low, especially in the aspects of letter structure, letter content, language use, and neatness of writing. This study aims to improve personal letter writing skills through the implementation of the Project Based Learning model assisted by KESAPRI (Personal Letter Paper) media. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) carried out in two cycles using the Kemmis and McTaggart model which includes the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 19 third-grade students of SD 1 Wergu Wetan. Data collection techniques used included observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the Project Based Learning model assisted by KESAPRI media can improve students' personal letter writing skills. The average score of students' writing skills increased from 64 in cycle I to 79.2 in cycle II. The learning completion percentage also increased from 36.84% in cycle I to 63.16% in cycle II. Improvements occurred in the structure of personal letters, content, language use, and neatness of writing. Therefore, the implementation of the Project Based Learning model assisted by KESAPRI media can be an effective learning alternative to improve elementary school students' personal letter writing skills.

Abstract

This study was motivated by students’ low learning comprehension in Economics, particularly on taxation material, at SMA Negeri 12 Kota Jambi, as well as the use of conventional learning media that made the learning process less interactive and engaging. Therefore, this study aimed to develop Gimkit-based learning media, examine its feasibility, and determine its effectiveness in improving students’ learning comprehension. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 12 Kota Jambi. Data were collected through media expert and material expert validation sheets, as well as students’ learning comprehension tests using a one-group Pre-Test and Post-Test design. The validation data were analyzed using descriptive quantitative analysis, while the effectiveness data were analyzed using the N-Gain score. The results showed that the Gimkit-based learning media was highly feasible, obtaining validation scores of 98.75% from the media expert and 87.50% from the material expert. Students’ average score increased from 58.37 in the Pre-Test to 91.49 in the post-test, with an N-Gain score of 0.79 in the high category. These findings indicate that Gimkit-based learning media is both feasible and effective in improving students’ learning comprehension of taxation material while promoting a more interactive and enjoyable learning experience.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how teachers at Rumah Al-Qur'an At-Taisir, Veteran, East Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City, are motivating students to learn to read the Qur'an. The low level of students' interest in learning to read the Al-Qur'an, despite the Ummi method being used in the learning process, is the background of this study. This study employs a field research design and a qualitative methodology. Teachers and students who served as research subjects were observed, interviewed, and documented in order to gather the data. Data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing make up the data analysis technique. According to the study's findings, teachers can boost students' interest in learning to read the Al-Qur'an by motivating them, using the Ummi method, praising and rewarding them, employing suitable teaching techniques, and creating a welcoming classroom. Adequate learning facilities and certified Ummi teachers are examples of supporting factors; student ability differences, a lack of parental supervision, and poor focus during learning activities are examples of inhibiting factors. According to the study's findings, teachers have a significant impact on students' motivation to learn how to read the Al-Qur'an in non-formal Islamic educational environments.

Abstract

Residual-waste accumulation and open burning remain problems in areas with limited treatment services. This study reviews 26 sources to assess a simple incinerator concept for Nagari Koto Gadang Anam Koto. Nine studies with original input and residue data reported batch mass or volume reductions of 62.88% to 96.94%. A material-flow evaluation showed that incineration handled 25% to 30% of total waste input within an integrated system. Waste type, moisture, chamber loading, temperature, residence time, air supply, and flue-gas control affected residue and smoke. Smoke colour alone did not demonstrate emission safety. All numerical findings are secondary data, not local measurements. The concept requires waste sorting, trained operators, mass recording, and emission testing before field implementation.

Abstract

This study examines the reorientation and reconstruction of Islamic Religious Education (IRE/PAI) thought in the era of technological disruption, with a research locus at SDN 053 Cisitu, Bandung City. The disruption era has brought fundamental changes to the educational landscape, demanding a paradigmatic transformation in the approaches, methods, and learning media of PAI, which has long been dominated by conventional lecture-based methods. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach following Lexy J. Moleong. Data were collected through document analysis of Grade VI PAI lesson plans (RPP), classroom observations, and in-depth interviews with teachers and students. Data analysis techniques encompassed data reduction, data presentation, and data verification. The findings reveal that the reorientation of PAI at SDN 053 Cisitu is characterized by the reinforcement of digital literacy, the application of Problem Based Learning (PBL), interactive discussions, and the integration of moral values including humility, discipline, and responsibility. The reconstruction of PAI thought is manifested through a shift from traditional lecture methods to the use of interactive multimedia such as PowerPoint, YouTube videos, Google Meet, and WhatsApp Group, as well as the contextualization of subject matter through empirical examples such as natural disasters as illustrations of the minor apocalypse (kiamat sugra) and faith reinforcement through case-based reflection. The study concludes that the adaptive reconstruction and reorientation of PAI in the disruption era can enhance the relevance, meaningfulness, and effectiveness of PAI learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Power and political authority are key elements in modern government, determining the direction of public policy and the stability of the political system. Power is understood as the ability to influence decisions and behaviour within the political realm, while authority refers to the legitimacy that accompanies the use of power based on laws and norms. This study aims to analyse the relationship between power and authority, identify the causes of power abuse, and examine the mechanisms of governance oversight. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach through a literature review of relevant books and academic journals. The results of the analysis show that imbalances between power and authority can lead to abuse of power, reduced accountability, and decreased public trust in the government. Faktor-faktor seperti lemahnya pengawasan, rendahnya integritas aparatur, dan dominasi kepentingan politik berkontribusi terhadap penyimpangan ini. The implementation of good governance principles such as transparency, accountability, and public participation is necessary to maintain balance in the use of power. Strengthening the oversight mechanism and consistent law enforcement is expected to create a more effective, fair and people-oriented governance system.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze magical realism in the novel The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew by C. S. Lewis. The method used to analyze the data in this study is a descriptive method with a qualitative research form. The data source analyzed in this research is the novel The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew by C. S. Lewis. The data in this study consists of quotes or sentences in the novel that contain characteristics of magical realism, including irreducible element, phenomenal world, unsettling doubts, merging realms, and disruptions of time, space, and identity. The theory used as the main reference in this research is the theory of magical realism by Wendy B. Faris. The results of this study show that in the novel The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew by C. S. Lewis, there are characteristics of magical realism in the form of an unreduced element consisting of magical characters, magical sounds, and magical events, a phenomenal world in the form of places or locations that exist in the real world, the unsettling doubt of the characters, the unification of the magical and the real in the form of objects, and also the disruption of time, space, and identity. Based on these five characteristics, the dominant data results in this study are the characteristics of the unreduced elements with indicators of magical events categorized into teleportation events, the characters' magic, and the magically formed new world called Narnia.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinants of teacher performance based on principals' leadership, organizational communication, and teachers' work motivation in public elementary schools in Dramaga District. The study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The research population consisted of 328 teachers, with a sample of 180 teachers. The results showed that principals' leadership had a positive and significant relationship with teacher performance (r = 0.616; R² = 0.379; p = 0.004). Organizational communication also had a positive and significant relationship with teacher performance (r = 0.456; R² = 0.208; p = 0.036). Teachers' work motivation demonstrated a positive and significant relationship with teacher performance and emerged as the most dominant variable (r = 0.634; R² = 0.402; p < 0.001). Simultaneously, principals' leadership, organizational communication, and teachers' work motivation had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance (F = 8.203; p < 0.001), with a coefficient of determination of R² = 0.423, indicating that the three variables jointly explained 42.3% of the variance in teacher performance. These findings suggest that strengthening teachers' work motivation, enhancing principals' leadership, and improving organizational communication are essential factors in improving teacher performance.
