Abstract

This research aims to find out the effectiveness of using English kids' songs to teach vocabulary. It was conducted in a private elementary school located in Jombang area in the academic year of 2023-2024. The population of this research was the fourth-grade students, consisting of three classes with a total of 62 students. The sample, selected using purposive sampling, included 18 students of class IV B. This study used a pre-experimental design with pre-tests and post-tests to measure students' vocabulary improvement before and after learning using English kids' songs. The pre-test checked their initial vocabulary while the post-test measured their progress. The results were analyzed by descriptive statistics and a-paired sample t-test. The results showed that vocabulary before being treatment was still "fairly sufficient" with the mean score of 59,44.  After being taught using English kids’ songs, the students’ vocabulary mean score increased from 59.44 to 88.89. The mean score, which was initially categorized as "fairly sufficient," has now risen to the "excellent" category, reflecting a notable enhancement in the student's vocabulary mastery. The paired sample t- test results showed a significance value of 0.000, which is less than 0.05, meaning the improvement was statistically significant. It means that English kids' songs as the media is effective for teaching vocabulary at an elementary school. This research provides strong evidence that innovative media such as English kids' songs can be a concrete solution to the challenges of vocabulary learning in school especially at an elementary level.

Abstract

Starting from the assumption that mathematics is identical to calculating numbers, complicated formulas, working on questions that are difficult to understand, making mathematics uninteresting to the point of having an impact on the low mastery of mathematics in students not only at the higher education level but also secondary education feels the same thing. This situation inspired researchers to change students' thinking patterns so that they consider mathematics not only about calculating numbers but more about unique learning that is definitely used and useful in everyday life so that it is fun to learn. This study aims to describe the collaboration of mathematical concepts with aquaponics to become mathematical aquaponics which can later be used in mathematics learning. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The data collection method used is documentation with the data analysis method using literature study. Furthermore, the results obtained from this study indicate that mathematics is still quite relevant if collaborated with aquaponics to become mathematical aquaponics. Furthermore, mathematical aquaponics are worthy of being developed as an innovative mathematics learning medium in the future. Then, for the suggestions that can be conveyed, through this research, mathematics should be collaborated with various disciplines so that it does not only focus on calculations and numbers which are considered boring for most students, so that later mathematics will feel fun and be liked by many people.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan menerapkan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi konten berbasis masalah pada materi transformasi geometri di kelas XI A SMAS 02 Diponegoro.  Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) adalah jenis penelitian ini.  Proses penelitian menggunakan dua siklus yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi.  Tes, observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi adalah metode pengumpulan data.  Asesmen formatif digunakan untuk latihan belajar siswa, tetapi hasil belajar sumatif dimaksudkan dalam penelitian ini.  Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat keberhasilan dalam meningkatkan  hasil belajar siswa.  Pada siklus pertama, 60% siswa mencapai KKM; namun, pada siklus kedua, jumlah ini meningkat menjadi 85%. Siswa juga menunjukkan peningkatan minat belajar, terbukti dari inisiatif mereka mengeksplorasi Geogebra secara mandiri. Dengan demikian, strategi pembelajaran ini efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas hubungan antara kecerdasan buatan (AI), khususnya dalam konteks pembelajaran mendalam (deep learning), dan perspektif epistemologi. Seiring dengan berkembangnya AI yang berbasis data dan ateoretis, pendekatan ini menantang paradigma epistemologi tradisional yang berfokus pada teori dan justifikasi pengetahuan universal. AI, dengan kemampuannya untuk memberikan personalisasi berdasarkan data yang kontekstual, membawa perubahan signifikan terhadap cara kita memahami dan menghasilkan pengetahuan. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi bagaimana AI menggeser fokus epistemologi dari pencarian kebenaran universal menuju pengetahuan yang lebih dinamis dan terfokus pada kebutuhan individu, serta implikasi filsafat ilmu dalam mengevaluasi konsep-konsep dasar seperti kebenaran, justifikasi, dan teori pengetahuan. Penelitian ini mengajak pembaca untuk merenungkan peran AI sebagai agen epistemik yang tidak hanya memengaruhi teknologi, tetapi juga pemahaman kita tentang pengetahuan di era modern. Abstract

Arabic language learning in elementary schools in Indonesia has an important role in creating a generation that understands Islam and Arabic culture. Although considered difficult and boring, PAIKEM (Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, and Fun Learning) strategies provide an effective solution by making learning more interesting through word games, songs, and others that can increase student motivation. This study used a qualitative research method with a Narrative research design. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed thematically. The interviews were conducted with 2 Arabic teachers and 10 students. This study found that the implementation of PAIKEM successfully increased academic knowledge as well as developed students' critical thinking, communication, and cooperation skills. The implementation of PAIKEM was also effective in increasing students' learning motivation and creating a more interactive and interesting classroom environment. The results of the analysis show that despite some challenges, PAIKEM has great potential to be implemented more widely and sustainably with further improvement and development. This research provides strong evidence that PAIKEM can be an effective model for improving the quality of Arabic language learning at SDS Sunan Kalijogo Jabung.

Abstract

The success or failure of a learning process is determined by the teacher. Teachers need to understand educational psychology so that learning can be achieved optimally. Teachers need to understand how each student learns. By understanding how each student learns, you will be able to provide appropriate treatments in learning. In this way the learning process will be successful. For example, there are students who like to learn with visual media or there are also those who use audio-visual and even apply kinesthetic learning methods and so on. All the different ways of learning must all be facilitated by the teacher. The research method in this research is Library Research, namely collecting library sources that are relevant to theoretical studies. Relevant theories are analyzed and synthesized so that in the end they can be used as references by readers. This research aims to serve as a reference for teachers and learners so that they can carry out the teaching process well, optimally and achieve the expected learning objectives. Abstract

This study aims to analyze students' understanding of derivatives of functions through independent exploration, where students were asked to create examples of functions, calculate their derivatives using differentiation theorems, and prove the results using the definition of derivatives. The subjects of the study were 35 first-semester students from the mathematics education program. Data was collected through exploratory tasks, interviews, and observations. The results showed that all students were able to determine the derivatives of the functions they created, although proving the derivative using the definition was more challenging as it involved the concept of limits previously studied. Five students demonstrated a deeper understanding by creating more complex examples, such as root and rational functions, which required manipulation techniques and the application of the quotient rule for derivatives. Interviews revealed that proving the derivative with the definition provided a deeper understanding of the fundamental concepts of derivatives. This study suggests using varied exploratory tasks and reflection sessions to enhance students' conceptual understanding of derivatives.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital yang pesat telah membawa dampak signifikan terhadap berbagai aspek kehidupan, termasuk pola pengasuhan anak dan pembentukan karakter moral mereka. Kemajuan ini menuntut orang tua untuk menerapkan pengasuhan yang sesuai dengan era digital atau dikenal sebagai digital parenting. Salah satu alat yang dapat mendukung digital parenting adalah Google Parental Control, yang memungkinkan orang tua memantau dan mengelola aktivitas digital anak-anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara penerapan digital parenting menggunakan Google Parental Control dengan moral siswa di sekolah dasar. Fokus penelitian ini meliputi aspek kejujuran, empati, tanggung jawab, dan kontrol diri siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif korelasional dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket, wawancara, dan observasi terhadap siswa dan orang tua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan digital parenting yang efektif memiliki hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan pembentukan moral siswa. Uji korelasi Spearman menghasilkan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,622 dengan nilai signifikansi p < 0,05, yang menunjukkan hubungan yang kuat antara kedua variabel tersebut. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya peran orang tua dalam mengawasi dan membimbing anak-anak dalam penggunaan teknologi digital. Dengan pengasuhan yang tepat, anak dapat memanfaatkan teknologi secara positif dan menghindari dampak negatifnya. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi referensi bagi orang tua, pendidik, dan pembuat kebijakan dalam mengembangkan strategi pengasuhan yang adaptif di era digital. Abstract

This study explores the urgency of the chain of knowledge transmission (sanad) in Islamic education in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). Sanad, as an authoritative mechanism for transmitting knowledge, remains relevant and essential in preserving the authenticity and integrity of Islamic teachings. The integration of AI in Islamic education offers opportunities to enhance accessibility and personalized learning but also presents challenges related to potential misinformation and the degradation of human interaction. This research employs a qualitative approach with a focus on a comprehensive literature review to analyze and synthesize relevant sources. The findings indicate that AI can be utilized to strengthen rather than replace the role of teachers and the sanad system. Therefore, this study recommends the development of a comprehensive framework to guide the integration of AI in Islamic education, emphasizing ethics, transparency, and accountability. This framework should also include guidelines for curriculum development, teacher training, and students’ digital literacy. By doing so, Islamic education can bridge the gap between tradition and technology, preparing young Muslim generations to face global challenges without compromising the core values of the sanad system.

Abstract

Biology students often face difficulties in understanding basic mathematical concepts, which can impact their comprehension of advanced science courses. This study aims to identify the key mathematical topics that pose challenges for first-year biology students to facilitate instructional improvements before the final exam. The research involved an analysis of midterm exam results from 90 students enrolled in a Basic Mathematics course. The data examined included completion time and accuracy rates across six key topics: equations and inequalities, matrices, absolute value, real numbers, probability, and sets. The results indicated that probability had the longest average completion time (4 minutes 36 seconds), while absolute value had the highest error rate, with only 13.19% correct responses. Further interviews revealed that students struggled with understanding the formal concept of absolute value and often misapplied probability rules for independent events. These findings highlight the need for improved teaching strategies, particularly for topics with high error rates, such as concept-based approaches and more structured problem-solving exercises. Enhancing students' mathematical proficiency through targeted interventions is expected to better prepare them for future academic challenges.
