Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI)--based learning models has made significant progress alongside the abundance of data. This enables the creation of complex deep-learning models to tackle increasingly intricate tasks. Evolving machine learning algorithms become a key factor in enhancing AI model capabilities. The demand for smart and efficient solutions from the business sector drives the adoption of AI technology, supported by advances in sensor technology, the Internet of Things (IoT), natural language processing (NLP), and image recognition. This article highlights the potential impact of AI model development on the learning experience, especially at the Elementary (SD), Junior High (SMP), and Senior High School (SMA) levels. Implementing AI models in elementary and secondary schools can support student progress assessment, provide material recommendations based on student understanding, and develop skills. The study discusses a teacher training initiative using ChatGPT to understand and utilize artificial intelligence in education. Training results show that teachers can effectively create varied and engaging learning materials using ChatGPT. Despite AI's benefits, cultural and social values remain irreplaceable, such as ethics towards teachers and social interactions among students. In conclusion, digital literacy training for teachers is essential to enhance their ability to develop modern and effective learning models, with AI as a valuable tool in creating dynamic and interactive learning environments.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) competency among teachers who are members of the Indonesian Digital School Network (JSDI) in East Aceh. Through a series of stages that include planning, implementing education and workshops, as well as evaluation, the results show a significant increase in teachers' understanding and skills regarding the TPACK concept. Teachers are able to integrate technology in learning effectively, supporting the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. Evaluation shows an increase in the average score from pre-test to post-test by 41.6%. Collaboration between the service team from Samudra University and JSDI East Aceh partners strengthens the effectiveness of this program. Despite facing challenges such as technological skills gaps and limited facilities, the solution implemented is in the form of individual assistance and the provision of simple but effective technological alternatives. Sustainability of this program is sought through regular mentoring and additional training. This activity emphasizes the importance of a needs-based approach, ongoing support, and effective collaboration to improve the quality of education. With strong commitment from all parties, it is hoped that the Smart Teacher concept can be realized, creating a learning environment that is more innovative, inclusive and adaptive to changing times.

Abstract

Stunting is still one of the priorities for a maternal and child health in Indonesia. The stunting prevalence rate in Boyolali Regency in 2023 reached 6,86%, relatively lower compared to the national level. However, the focus on handling stunting is still specifically for pregnant women and toddlers. There is a need to optimize the role of Family Support Team cadres to be able to supervise the prospective bride, as an effort to prevent stunting. This service was carried out in the Department of Population Control Service, Family Planning, Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (DP2KBP3A) Boyolali Regency with a target of 20 family support team cadres’, who represent rom each sub-district in Boyolali Regency. The aim of this service was to increase cadres knowledge on stunting, including factors that cause stunting, pregnancy planning, and family assistance for prospective brides. The majority of cadres have completed high school education (70%), have been cadres for more than 10 years (60%), and have 1-3 jobs (60%). There was an increase in cadres’ knowledge before and after being given training (p<0,05). Result shows that activities carried out were the provision of training as an effort to complement the knowledge and understanding of family support team cadres, especially for prospective brides, was effective, demonstrated by an increase in cadres knowledge before and after training.

Abstract

The background to this community service activity began with the discovery of the low writing skills of class I students at Kanisius Sorowajan Elementary School. The aim of this activity was to improve initial writing skills by applying the Montessori method. Initial writing skills refered to a person's basic ability to organize and express ideas, ideas, or information in writing including an understanding of written structure, grammar, spelling, and the ability to convey messages clearly. This activity used the Participatory Learning and Action method which included the teacher and 17 students. The results showed, 1) an increase in children's initial writing skills scored of 77.47% which included letter writing, cohesiveness, accuracy, completeness and proportionality; 2) training using the Montessori method had a significant effect on children's initial writing skills (p < 0.05) which was included in the large effect category (r = 62.39%); and 3) the effectiveness of implementing the Montessori method was in the large category (n-gain score = 89.24%).

Abstract

Ecoprint techniques have shifted to dyeing and patterning textiles. Ecoprint is a dyeing process that forms an image on fabric using leaf structures and produces patterns. This community empowerment activity aims to increase the knowledge and competence of mothers in Tanah Merah Subdistrict, Samarinda City, by using new Ecoprint technology to protect the environment and increase community income, implementing the activity through persuasive teaching methods with stages of preparation, coordination, implementation and assessment. The activity results show that 1) the knowledge of housewives in Tanah Merah Subdistrict, Samarinda City, has increased about using natural dyes in plants that are good to buy through ecoprint. 2) Increasing the awareness of housewives in Tanah Marah Subdistrict, Samarinda City, about transforming plants into natural dyes using primissima mori cloth as a creative project. 3) Increasing the knowledge and work of housewives in Tanah Merah Subdistrict, Samarinda City, regarding the processing and production environment using natural dyes. With the results of this activity, it is hoped that it can protect the environment and increase community income.

Abstract

The Community Association 02 area of Kelurahan Gisikdrono has 1,097 residents with 353 households. The number of female residents is 531 people, most of whom are housewives who work at home and are active in PKK activities. Through the PKK movement, housewives can strengthen the family to improve welfare. One of the reasons women work is to support the family economy. The weakness of the family economy makes housewives involved in increasing family income by looking for additional income by working for wages. In the context of efforts to improve the family economy, housewives must improve their ability to help the family economy. Given this condition, the service team tried to encourage housewives who have a lot of unproductive time in RW 02 Gisikdrono Village to be creative to make products that have economic value. She is supported again by the Waste Bank activities that have long been carried out by housewives in RW 02 Gisikdrono Village. This macrame art can be an alternative for housewives of Community Association 02 Gisikdrono Village in producing bags, wallets, key chains, brooches, etc. to get a high selling value of goods by combining the utilization of used goods in Waste Bank activities.

Abstract

Stunting is the condition of toddlers who experience failure to grow or have a body condition that is shorter than their age standard due to malnutrition, inadequate recurrent infections in the first 1,000 days of life. Bakipandeyan Village, Baki, Sukoharjo is one of the assisted villages that pays attention to the prevention and control of stunting. This encourages the holding of community service activities aimed at preventing and controlling stunting in children aged 0-24 months. This activity program uses seminar and workshop methods directly to mothers with children aged 0-24 months, health workers, and PKK cadres by considering the status of stunting and malnutrition in the Bakipandeyan village area, Baki, Sukoharjo. The results of community service showed an increase in participants' knowledge which was evaluated through an average increase in pretest scores from 79.77 to 93.86 at posttest as well as an increase in participants' skills in workshop activities. The results of the partner satisfaction questionnaire showed that people who gave good to very good appreciation reached 95%, so this activity was appropriate, satisfying and accepted by the people of Bakipandeyan Village, Baki, Sukoharjo.

Abstract

SLBN Semarang, an inclusive school in Semarang City, faces challenges in teaching Javanese script to visually impaired students. The available braille learning media is unable to visualize the original form of Javanese script, resulting in a lack of student motivation. The Aksawatra PKM-PM program offers an innovative solution by introducing Javanese Braille teaching aids based on touchpad technology and 3D models. This innovation allows visually impaired students to experience the script shapes in real time and get audio feedback that helps them understand and remember the script shapes more effectively. The implementation method of this program involves thorough preparation, intensive training for teachers, and implementation of Aksawatra technology learning to blind students. Evaluation results showed significant improvement in students' ability to recognize Javanese script forms and their increased interest in learning. In addition, teachers found it easy to teach Javanese script with this new tool. The Aksawatra PKM-PM program proves that interactive technology can be an effective solution to overcome learning obstacles for visually impaired students, improve literacy skills, and preserve cultural heritage. This success provides a sustainable positive impact for inclusive education and can serve as a model for future learning innovations.

Abstract

Residents of Tundan, RT 04, Tamantirto, Kasihan, Bantul still often marry their sons and daughters under the age of 19 due to various considerations, for example, the bride who must be married immediately or because of the strong will of the parents. This service aims to solve the problem of underage marriage so that an intensive study is carried out in the form of material presentation, analysis, discussion, and case studies on the negative impacts of underage marriage. The method applied in this community service program is to organize studies and discussions at partner locations in Tundan, RT 04, Tamantirto, with 52 participants. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, the participants experienced an increased understanding of Law Number 16 of 2019 concerning Amendments to Law No. 1 of 1974 concerning marriage by 50%, an increased understanding of the minimum age for marriage by 25%, an increased understanding of the factors that cause underage marriages by 26%, understanding of the negative impact of underage marriages has increased by 21%, and increased understanding of legal procedures that must be followed if underage marriages are forced to be carried out by 40%. Hopefully, this increased understanding can suppress underage marriage.
