Abstract

Thematic learning is an educational approach that integrates multiple subjects under a unified theme to enhance student engagement and comprehension. This study focuses on evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of thematic learning at SDN 158 Palembang, specifically in grade 2. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Findings reveal that teachers utilize diverse strategies, including active group learning and IT-based media, to enhance students' motivation and focus. However, challenges persist, particularly in managing group activities and addressing varying levels of student literacy. Teachers also face difficulties in teaching specific subjects like citizenship due to limited thematic book content, prompting the use of supplementary materials. Evaluation of thematic learning is conducted through regular assessments, including daily tests, midterms, and final exams, focusing on knowledge, skills, and attitudes. While thematic learning shows potential in fostering critical thinking and active participation, it also requires continuous teacher training and better resource allocation to address implementation challenges. The study concludes that thematic learning is effective in promoting holistic student development but necessitates improvements in evaluation methods and instructional resources for optimal results.

Abstract

Religious moderation is the practice of understanding and implementing religious teachings in a fair and balanced manner, aiming to prevent excessive and extreme behavior. It emphasizes the principles of wasatiyah (moderation), justice, and balance, aligning with the teachings of Islam that advocate for peace, tolerance, and unity. This study explores the integration of religious moderation values within Malay Islamic civilization, which is characterized by inclusivity, compassion, and adaptability. The spread of Islam in the Malay region was historically marked by its moderate, egalitarian approach, which facilitated its acceptance among diverse religious communities. Indonesia, as a nation built on Pancasila, embraces pluralism and multiculturalism, striving to maintain harmony and unity amidst its diverse cultural, ethnic, and religious landscape. This research employs a library research method, examining literature, journals, and scholarly works to analyze the principles of religious moderation and their application in education and social life. Key values such as tawassuth (middle path), tawazun (balance), i'tidal (justice), and tasamuh (tolerance) are identified as fundamental components of religious moderation. These values not only foster social cohesion but also align with the national ideals of unity and harmony. The study concludes that promoting religious moderation in education and daily life is essential for preventing conflict and fostering a peaceful, multicultural society, especially in the context of the diverse Indonesian nation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of moral learning at MTS Tarbyatul Qurro with a dogmatic and scientific approach. The main focus of this study is to explore the application of moral values based on Islamic teachings and evaluate the effectiveness of learning methods used in the school context. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, where data is collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that moral learning at MTS Tarbyatul Qurro is based on strong Islamic teaching principles and is supported by interactive teaching methods that are relevant to students' lives. However, several challenges were found in its implementation, especially in terms of internalizing moral values by students outside the school environment. This finding indicates the importance of synergy between formal education and the habituation of moral behavior in the family and society. In conclusion, the dogmatic and scientific approaches to moral learning at MTS Tarbyatul Qurro have been successfully implemented, although it requires more effort in implementing morals holistically in students' lives.
