Abstract

The role of press education is crucial in introducing and educating the public about feminist issues through in-depth and critical reporting. Online media serve as agents of change by promoting gender equality and challenging stereotypes. Women have long been subjects in mass media, yet discussions surrounding gender equality, the feminist movement, and its dynamics persist. Feminist campaigns often find the portrayal of women in media problematic. This study, titled Framing of Feminism Reporting in Online Media: The Perspective of the Educational Function of the Press, employs qualitative research using Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing analysis model, which includes syntax, script, thematic, and rhetoric elements. The research analyzes how feminism is framed in the online media outlet Wongkito.co and links it to the educational function of the press. Framing feminism in this context reflects the media’s dual role: disseminating information and educating the public on values such as gender equality, courage, and female leadership. The educational function of the press emphasizes its role in raising awareness, challenging stereotypes, and fostering positive social change. The study finds that Wongkito.co portrays women as equals to men in social, political, and economic spheres. By highlighting women’s courage and leadership, it effectively challenges gender stereotypes, fulfilling the press's educational function and advancing the discourse on gender equality. This demonstrates how media can shape societal perceptions and advocate for progressive change.

In this study, the researcher adopts a descriptive approach in qualitative research, where data is collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study show that the implementation of character education at SMA Negeri 2 Labuapi begins with the school principal organizing a meeting to establish an organization responsible for carrying out tasks related to education and character development. Character education activities start during the School Environment Introduction (PLS), with external speakers such as the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the police, the prosecutor's office, and the military (TNI). Character education is also applied in the classroom to develop positive attitudes such as cooperation, discipline, and mutual respect. Various activities are also carried out to support character education, such as Duha prayer, congregational Zuhr prayer, religious activities (imtaq), Friday charity, flag ceremonies, scouting, environmental cleanliness, and the 5S culture. In conclusion, the implementation of character education for Generation Z is seen to be effective. The program is integrated into the school’s organizational structure, covering the curriculum, student affairs, public relations, and infrastructure. With a holistic approach, SMA Negeri 2 Labuapi successfully shapes positive character traits in Generation Z students through a well-structured and integrated character education program in their daily school life.

Abstract

Psychomotor assessment is an important aspect of education that focuses on students' physical abilities and motor skills. This study aims to examine the development of psychomotor research strategies, techniques and instruments that are valid, reliable, and in accordance with learning needs. The research method used was a literature study with descriptive analysis techniques from various related literature sources. The results showed that psychomotor assessment requires a comprehensive approach involving various techniques, such as tests, observations, performance assessments, portfolios, and products. The development of standardized and accurate assessment instruments such as assessment rubrics is an important step to ensure the validity and reliability of the assessment. Although there are challenges in assessing the psychomotor domain such as limited instruments and difficulties in objective assessment. The limitations of this study lie in the use of the literature study method which limits the scope of the study only to the available literature without involving data in the field or direct interviews with educators. For further research, it is hoped that it can conduct trials of psychomotor assessment instruments in real conditions in various types of education and involve more diverse respondents to increase the validity and reliability of the instrument.

Abstract

This study addresses environmental degradation and declining ecological awareness in modern religious and social life. Within the Minangkabau context, the integration of Islamic values and customary traditions continues to reflect a harmonious relationship between humans, nature, and God. This research analyzes how Islamic ecotheological values are embedded in the leadership of niniak mamak (traditional leaders) and the social practices of the Salingka Nagari community in Tilatang Kamang, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation, with Tamsir Dt. Pado Batuah and Mutaqim Malin Pamuncak serving as key informants. The findings show that Islamic ecotheological values are practiced through an indigenous leadership system grounded in mizan (ecological balance), amanah (responsibility for God’s creation), and ukhuwah kauniyyah (universal brotherhood among all beings). Ecological governance is reflected in the management of customary forests (Rimbo Manduang), collective farming (batanam basamo), and community deliberation, all rooted in the principle of adat basandi syarak, syarak basandi Kitabullah (custom founded upon Islamic law, and Islamic law founded upon the Qur’an). Non-formal educational spaces such as surau and lapau also function as channels for transmitting ecotheological values across generations. This study concludes that the leadership of niniak mamak in Tilatang Kamang embodies a living model of Islamic social ecology, integrating Islamic teachings, local wisdom, and ecological consciousness within a sustainable governance system. The findings contribute to developing a faith-based ecological leadership framework within Islamic education and sustainable development discourse.
