Abstract

The mental health of students in Islamic boarding schools is often neglected due to stigma, low literacy, and misunderstandings linking it to supernatural factors such as possession. This condition makes students reluctant to seek medical help and prefer a purely spiritual approach. This community service program aims to improve mental health literacy by integrating medical approaches and Islamic spirituality, which students and caregivers find more easily acceptable. The activity was carried out at Hidayatullah Al-Muhajirin Bangkalan Islamic Boarding Schools involved 30 students in counseling sessions, 48 students, and 15 caregivers in free health check-ups. The activity methods included an initial survey, interactive counseling, discussions, pre- and post-test questionnaires, and basic health services. Results showed an average increase in students' knowledge scores of 13 points after the counseling, indicating the program's effectiveness in improving mental health awareness. This increased insight also encouraged students to discuss psychological issues without stigma. The material was delivered by integrating Islamic values such as dhikr (remembrance of God), prayer, and meditation (contemplation). The free health check-ups also emphasized the importance of physical and mental balance from an Islamic perspective. This activity has implications for ongoing educational forums, caregiver training in early detection of mental disorders, and the development of medical-spiritual-based counseling services. This program has proven effective as an intervention model that can be replicated in other Islamic boarding schools, while also strengthening community involvement in creating a more caring and supportive environment for students' mental health.

Abstract

The Rejoarum Women Farmers Group (KWT) in Pandowoharjo, Sleman, faces challenges in cultivating California papaya due to its dependence on an inefficient traditional irrigation system. The main problems include water wastage, high operational costs, and dependence on weather conditions, which affect the group's productivity and income. This community service program aims to improve irrigation efficiency and partner capacity through the participatory application of drip irrigation technology. The method used is participatory action, which actively involves group members in all stages of the program, from planning and installation to system evaluation. The results show that the drip irrigation system was successfully installed on 1,000 m² of land and is operating optimally. Pre-test and post-test analyses reveal a 14% increase in the group members' understanding and technical skills in operating and maintaining the system. The participatory approach has proven effective in building the group's independence, increasing water use efficiency, and reducing operational costs. This program not only solved technical irrigation problems but also empowered partners through direct learning processes and local capacity building. The sustainability of the program is ensured through the commitment and sense of ownership of the partners towards the technology applied, as well as plans for replication in other farmer groups.

Abstract

Access to clean water in Indonesia remains a challenge, especially in rural areas and educational environments such as Islamic boarding schools. Consuming contaminated air in the long term from shallow wells can cause damage to organs, such as the kidneys, liver, and digestive tract. Therefore, the availability of sufficient and affordable clean water is very important for the survival and well-being of society. The approach in the Islamic boarding school environment, through community service activities and conducting counseling related to clean water processing and its relationship to preventing organ damage, is very important to create collective awareness in maintaining the availability of clean water. The implementation was carried out on May 17, 2025, at the Al-Jihad Islamic Boarding School in Surabaya. The series of activities began with filling out a pre-test, counseling through interactive lectures, and then continued with filling out a post-test to transmit the students' understanding after participating in this activity. The activity showed an increase in students' knowledge about water quality (management) and its impact on health (p0.05). Providing counseling to students at the Al Jihad Islamic Boarding School in Surabaya was able to increase students' knowledge about water quality (management) and its impact on health.

Abstract

Inclusive education requires teachers who are able to identify diverse learning needs, design adaptive instruction, and utilize engaging learning media that support all students, including those with special educational needs. The needs assessment conducted in the Sigi district showed that most teachers had not previously received comprehensive training on inclusive practices, and more than seventy percent lacked access to simple educational media such as story-based materials and animations. This community engagement program aimed to strengthen teacher competence through training on the development and classroom application of biblioeducation and educational animation grounded in local Kaili cultural values. Using a participatory training and mentoring approach, the program included workshops, hands-on media production, classroom implementation, and structured evaluation. Quantitative findings indicated substantial improvement in teacher competence, with the average pre-test score increasing from 64.67 to 90.50 in the post-test. More than eighty percent of teachers achieved medium to high gain scores, and sixty percent reported high levels of perceived competence after the training. Classroom observations also showed that the stories and animations developed effectively supported the delivery of empathy, cooperation, and anti-bullying values. These results demonstrate that integrating culturally grounded biblioeducation and educational animation is an effective strategy for enhancing inclusive teaching practices, especially in schools with limited resources. Abstrak. Pendidikan inklusif membutuhkan guru yang mampu mengidentifikasi kebutuhan belajar yang beragam, merancang pembelajaran yang adaptif, serta memanfaatkan media pembelajaran yang menarik untuk mendukung semua siswa, termasuk mereka yang memiliki kebutuhan pendidikan khusus. Penilaian kebutuhan yang dilakukan di Kabupaten Sigi menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar guru belum pernah menerima pelatihan komprehensif tentang praktik inklusif, dan lebih dari tujuh puluh persen tidak memiliki akses ke media edukasi sederhana seperti materi berbasis cerita dan animasi. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat kompetensi guru melalui pelatihan pengembangan dan penerapan biblioedukasi serta animasi edukasi yang berlandaskan nilai budaya lokal Kaili. Dengan pendekatan pelatihan partisipatif dan pendampingan, program ini meliputi lokakarya, produksi media secara langsung, penerapan di kelas, dan evaluasi terstruktur. Temuan kuantitatif menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kompetensi guru, dengan rata-rata skor pre-test meningkat dari 64,67 menjadi 90,50 pada post-test. Lebih dari delapan puluh persen guru mencapai skor peningkatan sedang hingga tinggi, dan enam puluh persen melaporkan tingkat kompetensi yang tinggi setelah pelatihan. Observasi kelas juga menunjukkan bahwa cerita dan animasi yang dikembangkan efektif mendukung penyampaian nilai empati, kerja sama, dan anti-perundungan. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi biblioedukasi dan animasi edukasi yang berlandaskan budaya lokal merupakan strategi efektif untuk meningkatkan praktik pengajaran inklusif, terutama di sekolah dengan sumber daya terbatas.

Abstract

Food security is one of the key strategic issues in sustainable development, particularly at the local community level, which is vulnerable to food crises and climate change. To address this challenge, this community service activity was conducted with the aim of improving knowledge and skills among community members, especially local farmer groups in cultivating herbal plants as a strategy for local food resilience and the implementation of a circular economy at Kebun Dakwah Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The cultivated commodities include ginger, aromatic ginger (kencur), turmeric, temulawak, and lemongrass, all of which have high potential as raw materials for value-added herbal products. The educational program was designed using a participatory approach, involving lectures, hands-on training, and mentoring by a multidisciplinary team of lecturers and students from Universitas Ahmad Dahlan’s KKN (Community Service Program). The training covered land preparation, seed selection, eco-friendly cultivation techniques, and post-harvest product processing education to support the circular economy concept. Evaluation results showed a significant increase in participants’ understanding of the benefits of herbal plants (increasing 29%) and cultivation techniques (increasing 30%). This initiative also supports the optimization of existing post-harvest technologies such as solar dryers, while strengthening the circular economy ecosystem in the area. Abstrak. Ketahanan pangan merupakan salah satu isu strategis dalam pembangunan berkelanjutan, khususnya di tingkat komunitas lokal yang rentan terhadap krisis pangan dan perubahan iklim. Untuk menjawab tantangan ini, kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat khususnya kelompok petani komunitas dalam membudidayakan tanaman herbal sebagai bagian dari strategi ketahanan pangan lokal dan implementasi ekonomi sirkular di Kebun Dakwah Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Komoditas yang dibudidayakan meliputi jahe, kencur, kunyit, temulawak, dan sereh wangi yang memiliki potensi tinggi sebagai bahan baku produk olahan herbal bernilai tambah. Program edukasi dirancang melalui pendekatan partisipatif dengan metode penyuluhan, pelatihan praktik langsung, dan pendampingan oleh tim dosen lintas disiplin dan mahasiswa Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Universitas Ahmad Dahlan. Edukasi dilakukan mulai dari penyiapan lahan, pemilihan bibit, teknik budidaya ramah lingkungan, hingga edukasi pengolahan produk pascapanen sebagai implementasi konsep ekonomi sirkular. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta terhadap manfaat tanaman herbal sebanyak 29% dan teknik budidayanya sebesar 30%. Kegiatan ini juga mendukung optimalisasi teknologi fasilitas pascapanen yang telah ada di lokasi pengabdian seperti rumah pengering, sekaligus memperkuat ekosistem ekonomi sirkular di kawasan tersebut.

Abstract

State revenue from taxes has not yet reached its full potential due to non-compliance among taxpayers. Taxpayer compliance can be influenced by the low level of public understanding regarding tax obligations and tax information systems. To create a tax-conscious generation, tax counseling activities are necessary. The purpose of this Community Service Program (PKM) is to improve the understanding of students at SMAN 1 Bangsal regarding tax obligations and tax information systems in order to increase their awareness of their tax responsibilities. The PKM activities were carried out using a counseling method for 11th-grade students of SMAN 1 Bangsal by the PKM team from the Accounting Study Program of UNUSA. The implementation method consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results after the counseling show an increase in students’ knowledge about taxation. The conclusion of this PKM activity is that tax socialization can enhance the understanding of SMAN 1 Bangsal students about tax obligations and tax information systems, thereby helping to create a tax-conscious generation. Abstrak. Penerimaan negara berasal dari pajak belum maksimal akibat wajib pajak yang tidak patuh. Kepatuhan  wajib  pajak dapat disebabkan oleh tingkat pemahaman masyarakat tentang kewajiban perpajakan dan system informasi perpajakan rendah. Untuk menciptakan generasi sadar pajak perlu diadakan penyuluhan. Tujuan PKM adalah meningkatkan pemahaman siswa SMAN 1 Bangsal terhadap kewajiban perpajakan dan system informasi perpajakan agar meningkatkan kesadaran tentang kewajiban perpajakan mereka.  Kegiatan  PKM dilakukan  dengan  metode penyuluhan kepada  siswa  kelas XI SMAN 1 Bangsal oleh tim PKM prodi Akuntansi UNUSA. Metode  pelaksanaan  yang  digunakan  terdiri dari tiga tahap, yaitu: tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap evaluasi. Hasil yang didapat setelah penyuluhan adalah pengetahuan siswa tentang pajak meningkat. Kesimpulan dari    kegiatan  PKM ini adalah sosialisasi pajak dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa SMAN 1 Bangsal tentang kewajiban perpajakan dan system informasi perpajakan sehingga dapat menciptakan  generasi sadar pajak.

Abstract

Vitamin D (VitD) has been studied for its role in the immune system, particularly in regulating the body's inflammatory response. Vitamin D deficiency can increase the risk of respiratory tract infections, which can trigger asthma exacerbations. In asthma patients, VitD can act as an immunomodulator in respiratory epithelial cells. The objective of this community service program is to increase students' knowledge about the benefits of vitamin D supplementation in the recognition and management of asthma among students at the Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic boarding school in Probolinggo. This community service project used an observational analytical method to process questionnaire data. The participants were 40 male and female students at Zainul Hasan Genggong Islamic boarding school. This activity was conducted using a lecture, discussion, and question-and-answer approach. The results of the Wilcoxon signed-rank test showed an increase in the students' knowledge, with a pre-test average score of 30 and a post-test average score of 65, indicating a significant increase (p-value 0.001). The conclusion drawn is that students can understand asthma and the role of vitamin D supplementation in asthma management after receiving counseling, and it is hoped this education will encourage students to adopt healthy lifestyles, recognize asthma symptoms early, and take appropriate action.

Abstract

Pain is a complex health issue that significantly affects quality of life. This community service activity aimed to enhance the knowledge of health cadres in Alat Village regarding pain through education using leaflets and interactive discussions. A total of 24 health cadres participated in the program, which included a pre-test, the delivery of materials, discussion, and a post-test. The evaluation results showed a significant improvement in cadres’ understanding of pain concepts, types, symptoms, causes, and management and prevention strategies. Leaflets proved to be an effective medium for delivering comprehensible and straightforward health information. This activity is expected to strengthen the role of health cadres in disseminating pain education to the broader community. Abstrak. Nyeri adalah masalah kesehatan yang kompleks dan sangat memengaruhi kualitas hidup. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan kader kesehatan di Desa Alat mengenai nyeri melalui edukasi menggunakan leaflet dan diskusi interaktif. Sebanyak 24 kader kesehatan mengikuti program yang meliputi pre-test, penyampaian materi, diskusi, dan post-test. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman kader tentang konsep nyeri, jenis, gejala, penyebab, serta strategi pengelolaan dan pencegahan. Leaflet terbukti menjadi media yang efektif untuk menyampaikan informasi kesehatan yang mudah dipahami dan sederhana. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat peran kader kesehatan dalam menyebarkan edukasi tentang nyeri kepada masyarakat luas.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to conduct outreach and mentoring on the use of the New Student Admissions website (PPDB website) at the Busyri Al Ali Foundation. This website was built to help smooth the process of admitting new students and make it easier for prospective parents to complete the registration process. In the current student admissions system, the committee must enter the data of registered students along with the identities of their parents one by one in the school ledger. Another problem is that prospective parents have difficulty in obtaining new student registration information, causing the number of new students to tend to decrease every year. Website outreach was conducted to introduce the PPDB website to the entire academic community within the Busyri Al Ali Foundation. This can make it easier for the entire academic community to introduce the school and help prospective parents to register independently. The results of the outreach showed an increase in participant understanding from the results of the outreach activities. This is indicated by an increase in posttest results of 100% from the pretest results conducted before the outreach activities of 78%. In addition, mentoring activities were also carried out to ensure the PPDB Team can operate the system optimally. Mentoring was carried out for one month in a hybrid manner to ensure the admin can operate the system. During the mentoring activities, several evaluations were carried out regarding obstacles in using the system at the school and the difficulties faced by prospective parents in making online payments. Abstrak. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk melakukan sosialisasi dan pendampingan penggunaan website Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru  (PPDB) di lingkungan  Yayasan Busyri Al Ali. Website ini dibangun untuk membantu kelancaran proses penerimaan siswa baru dan mempermudah calon orang tua siswa dalam melakukan proses pendaftaran. Sistem penerimaan siswa saat ini  masih menggunakan metode konvensional sehingga panitia PPDB harus memasukkan data siswa yang mendaftar beserta identitas orang tua wali satu-persatu pada buku besar sekolah. Selain itu, kesulitan dalam mendapatkan informasi PPDB pada sekolah di lingkungan Yayasan Busyri Al Ali juga menyebabkan jumlah siswa baru cenderung menurun setiap tahun.  Sosialisasi website  dilakukan untuk memperkenalkan website PPDB kepada seluruh civitas akademik di lingkungan Yayasan Busyri Al Ali. Hal ini dapat mempermudah seluruh sivitas akademik dalam memperkenalkan sekolah dan membantu para calon orang tua murid untuk melakukan pendaftaran secara mandiri. Hasil sosialisasi menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman peserta dari hasil kegiatan sosialisasi. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan hasil posttest sebesar 100% dari hasil prestest yang dilakukan sebelum kegiatan sosialisasi sebesar 78%. Selain itu, Kegiatan pendampingan juga dilakukan untuk memastikan Tim PPDB dapat mengoperasikan sistem secara optimal . Pendampingan dilaksanakan selama satu bulan secara hybrid untuk memastikan admin dapat mengoperasikan sistem. Selama kegiatan pendampingan dilaksanakan terdapat beberapa evaluasi terkait kendala penggunaan sistem di sekolah dan kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh calon orang tua siswa dalam melakukan pembayaran secara online.

Abstract

Low back pain (LBP) is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders worldwide, with a global prevalence of 60–80% among adults. This condition results in limitations of daily activities, decreased productivity, and reduced quality of life. In Indonesia, LBP is frequently reported among both productive and elderly age groups, with major risk factors including non-ergonomic working postures, insufficient physical activity, and degenerative processes. In Kendari Barat District, LBP cases are often encountered at community health centers , particularly among individuals with diverse occupations such as office workers, traders, and laborers. These jobs often involve repetitive physical activity or prolonged static postures, highlighting the need for stronger promotive and preventive interventions at the community level.The purpose of this community service program is to strengthen the capacity of health fasilitators in understanding, preventing, and managing LBP through education, ergonomic training, and stretching exercises. The methods applied include interactive counseling, practical simulations, and cadre mentoring at the Kendari Barat Community Health Center. A total of 60 health cadres participating in this activity are expected to contribute by providing education to the community in their respective environments.                                                              Abstrak. Low back pain (LBP) merupakan salah satu gangguan muskuloskeletal dengan prevalensi global tinggi, yaitu 60–80% pada orang dewasa, dan berdampak pada keterbatasan aktivitas, penurunan produktivitas, serta kualitas hidup. Di Indonesia, keluhan LBP banyak dijumpai pada kelompok usia produktif maupun lanjut usia, dengan faktor risiko utama berupa postur kerja tidak ergonomis, kurangnya aktivitas fisik, serta proses degeneratif. Di Kecamatan Kendari Barat, kasus LBP sering ditemukan di Puskesmas, terutama pada masyarakat dengan variasi pekerjaan seperti pegawai kantoran, pedagang, dan buruh. Kondisi ini menegaskan perlunya intervensi promotif dan preventif yang lebih kuat di tingkat komunitas. Tujuan dari program pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah meningkatkan kapasitas kader kesehatan dalam memahami, mencegah, dan menangani LBP secara sederhana melalui edukasi, pelatihan ergonomi, serta latihan peregangan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi penyuluhan interaktif, simulasi praktik, dan pendampingan kader di Puskesmas Kecamatan Kendari Barat. Sebanyak 60 kader kesehatan yang mengikuti kegiatan ini diharapkan mampu memberikan berkontribureka dalam memberikan edukasi kepada Masyarakat dilingkungan mereka masing-masing.
