Abstract

Every HIV/AIDS sufferer is expected not to forget to take medication more than 3 times a month with the number of ARV drugs that must be taken is 60 times. Non-adherence in taking ARV drugs can cause resistance effects so that the drugs will not work or will fail, so it is hoped that PLWHA will comply with taking ARV drugs. There are several factors that affect patient compliance in undergoing antiretroviral therapy (ARV). The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinants of adherence to taking ARV drugs in patients with HIV/AIDS in Jambi City. This study is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling using purposive sampling. The sample in this study were 235 people with HIV/AIDS who were taking ARV therapy. The results of this study indicate that there is a relationship between respondents' knowledge and adherence to ARV drugs, there is no relationship between attitudes and adherence to taking ARV drugs, there is a relationship between actions and adherence to taking ARV drugs, there is no relationship between age and adherence to taking ARV drugs, there is no relationship between sex and adherence to ARV drugs. adherence to taking ARV drugs, there was no relationship between education and adherence to taking ARV drugs, there was a relationship between family support and adherence to taking ARV drugs, and there was no relationship between length of treatment and adherence to taking ARV drugs. Health facilities are confounding in the relationship between attitudes, knowledge and actions with ARV drug adherence in PLWHA. A sustainable HIV/AIDS control program is needed for public awareness or socialization about the need for support for PLWHA to comply with ARV consumption.

Abstract

Contraceptive use is the best effort for birth control in a family regulation program. Long-Acting Contraceptive Methods (LACMs) is a contraceptive known to be successful because it provides guarantees from the risk of pregnancy in the long term. However, there is a stagnation in the birth rate because couples of childbearing age (PUS) using non-LACM often experience drops out; therefore, they need to be informed to use LACM. This research aimed to identify factors related to LACM use in the work area of the Noebeba Health Center. This research was quantitative with a cross-sectional design. This research was conducted in the work area of the Noebeba Health Center with a sample of 74 PUS using contraception. Based on the Chi-square test results, variables related to LACM use at the Noebeba Health Center were maternal age (p=0.005), mother's knowledge and husband's support (p=0.000). The variables that had no relationship were parity (p=0,336) and distance to family planning services (p=0.147). Primary health care (puskesmas) should increase promotive efforts by using informational media in language that PUS easily understands at each health integrated post (posyandu) to increase PUS' knowledge about LACM.

Abstract

From July 2021 to March 2022, cases of COVID-19 were reported increasing every day. The SARS-CoV2 virus infects the human body via the ACE2 receptor, the expression level of ACE2 is highest in adipose tissue. This causes obese patients to show more severe symptoms of COVID-19. During the independent isolation period, patients really need help from other parties in order to be able to meet their needs, especially in terms of providing consumption and medicine as well as motivation to obtain recovery, especially from the closest people, namely the family. The general aim of this study is to describe the correlation between body mass index and family support for COVID-19 recovery in self-isolation patients. This research is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design and a sampling technique using simple random sampling. The research instrument used medical records and family support questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed using bivariate analysis, namely the chi-square test. The results of the study explained that there was a significant relationship between body mass index and family support for COVID-19 recovery in self-isolated patients in the work area of the Brebes Health Center. COVID-19 patients who have an obese body mass index are advised to seek treatment at the hospital if they already have symptoms of COVID-19 in the moderate category. Families are advised to increase family support, especially when caring for COVID-19 patients who are carrying out independent isolation. It is hoped that the government can become an evaluation and input to better monitor the health of patients who are conducting independent isolation, especially patients who have an obese body mass index.

Abstract

The emergency room is the main gateway for the spread of viruses and diseases, both between patients and between patients and medical personnel. WHO said that in the era of the COVID-19 pandemic, the highest risk of spreading COVID-19 was in the emergency room due to the high mobility of the emergency room, but the patient's disease had not been fully detected, so that the prevention of this disease was carried out through efforts to change the management of the hospital's emergency room. This research was conducted in order to find out the efforts made by the government through a comparison was made between the policy settings for hospital emergency rooms before during the COVID-19 pandemic which included entry flows, service procedures, zone mapping, and the distribution of health human resources in hospital emergency rooms. The new regulations for hospital emergency rooms during the COVID-19 pandemic regulate facilities and infrastructure in the emergency room as well as management of health human resources that adapt to the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. The new regulation also requires health screening and the application of health protocols, supporting examinations (swab tests), and the flow of patient examinations in the emergency room which refers to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia and guidelines from the CDC. The implementation of the new regulations is a form of responsive and adaptive attitude of hospitals in Indonesia to the conditions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
