Abstract

The pervasive use of social media has exacerbated the issue of cyberbullying, with bystanders (cyberbystanders) playing a critical role in its dynamics. This study examines the relationship between self-efficacy and cyberbystander behaviour among adolescents.  A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 256 active social media users aged 18 to 21 years. Data were collected using the Cyberbullying Bystander Scale and the Defender Self-Efficacy Scale. Spearman's correlation analysis revealed a significant positive relationship between self-efficacy and cyberbystander behaviour (r = 0.556, p < 0.001). Adolescents with higher self-efficacy were more likely to act as defenders of cybervictims, whereas those with lower self-efficacy tended to remain passive outsiders.Furthermore, self-efficacy accounted for 34.1% of the variance in defender behaviour and 15.1% of the variance in passive outsider behaviour. The findings underscore the pivotal role of self-efficacy in promoting proactive defender interventions among adolescents in cyberbullying contexts. Enhancing self-efficacy could be a key component in interventions aimed at encouraging positive bystander behaviour online. Keywords: self-efficacy, cyberbystander, cyberbullying, adolescent, defender behaviour

Abstract

Academic procrastination often becomes an obstacle that affects student achievement. This study aims to examine the effect of time management on academic procrastination among 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 3 Demak. Using quantitative regression analysis within a correlational design, this study included all 11th-grade students from 12 classes (n=428) via total sampling. The results showed a strong negative correlation (r = -0.704, p < 0.001), with the regression equation Y = 103.887 – 0.911X indicating that each one-point increase in time management reduces procrastination by 0.911 points. Time management explains 49.6% of the variance in procrastination (R² = 0.496). In practice, these findings highlight the importance of equipping students with structured time management skills, which can improve learning outcomes, reduce stress, and prepare them to meet the increasing academic demands at higher levels of education. Given the urgency of academic procrastination as a widespread problem affecting students globally, this study emphasizes the need for schools to implement prevention strategies through guidance and counseling services. Abstract

Stunting is commonly perceived as a physical issue in children, yet it also affects their psychological growth, particularly socio-emotional development. This study aims to construct a valid and reliable socio-emotional inventory for stunted children aged 4–5 years. Employing a cross-sectional quantitative design, the study involved 311 participants observed by early childhood teachers, primary school teachers, and parents, selected through convenience sampling. Data were analyzed descriptively using the Rasch model in Winstep 3.73. Findings revealed 24 valid statement items for assessing the socio-emotional aspects of stunted children. Reliability was established through person–item interaction, with a Cronbach’s Alpha of 0.73, categorized as “good”. The inventory covers dimensions of self-awareness, responsibility toward self and others, and prosocial behavior. Results suggest that the socio-emotional inventory for stunting cases demonstrates strong psychometric qualities, making it suitable for evaluating socio-emotional conditions of stunted children, and offering a useful tool for early intervention and educational planning. Keywords: stunting, socio-emotional development, inventory validation, rasch model, early childhood education

Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of Catur Murti Counseling in improving self-esteem among university students. The researcher employed a quantitative method with a pre-experimental design, specifically the one-shot case study. The researcher used the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) as the data collection instrument. This instrument demonstrated item-total validity with R values above 0.32 and a reliability coefficient of 0.983, indicating that the self-esteem inventory is reliable and suitable for research purposes. The researcher analyzed the data using the non-parametric Two Independent Sample Test: Mann-Whitney U. The hypothesis testing yielded a Z value of -2.242 and an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.025 (< 0.05), which led to the rejection of Ho. This result indicates that cognitive behavioral group counseling effectively improves students' self-esteem. Furthermore, the paired-samples t-test analysis yielded a t-value of -11.534 and a p-value of 0.000. Since 0.000 < 0.05, the researcher accepted Ha, confirming that Catur Murti Counseling effectively enhances university students’ self-esteem. Counseling practitioners and teachers are expected to pay attention to Catur Murti Counseling, which is scientific and practical in addressing various problems, especially those related to university students' self-esteem. Abstract

Not all students remain focused during classroom learning. Some engage in other activities that divert their attention from the learning process. This behavior is known as off-task behavior. This study examines six aspects of off-task behavior in classrooms: inattention, out of seat, noncompletion of task, talking without permission, unmotivated to learn, and unprepared for class, among high school and vocational school students in Salatiga. This research employs a quantitative comparative method with an Independent Sample t-test for statistical analysis. The participants are 500 students, including 250 high school students and 250 vocational school students, selected through purposive sampling. Results indicate no significant difference in off-task behavior between high school and vocational school students (p = 0.451). Both high school and vocational school students predominantly fall into the moderate category. This study provides insights into differences in behavioral tendencies and aspects of off-task behavior in the classroom. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to conduct a systematic review of the literature for the last 5 years (2019–2024) related to the use of empathy-based approaches for character education in faith-based organizations. The method used is a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, consisting of four primary stages: identification, screening, eligibility screening, and synthesis of the final 14 selected studies per the inclusion criteria. The review concludes by identifying four main themes: (1) models and practices of empathy-driven character education; (2) spiritual and affective values’ incorporation; (3) challenges and barriers to implementation; and (4) an empirical understanding of whether empathy contributes to forming holistic religious character. The results suggest that empathy can be enhanced through pedagogical techniques including religious telling, interfaith dialogue, service learning, and spiritual reflection. However, barriers such as lack of teacher training, resistance from the system and inconsistency of values still present major challenges. The study suggests a shift in pedagogic and policy focus to the nurturing of empathy in religious education systems. Its theoretical and practical contributions should further inform thinking about 21st-century character education as more human centred, reflective and situated. Introduction Character education is now perhaps more vital than ever before to schools but its definition and implementation is still open to interpretation and debate

Abstract

This research is important because the increasing cases of cyberbullying among adolescents, particularly vocational high school students in wetland communities, pose serious risks to their psychological Well-being and social relationships. The study aims to map the characteristics, influencing factors, and interaction patterns within adolescents’ social systems in cases of cyberbullying, using Bronfenbrenner’s ecological theory. A total of 798 vocational students in South Kalimantan participated in the study. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire grounded in five ecological systems, validated through expert review and Exploratory Factor Analysis (KMO > 0.5; factor loading > 0.5), with Cronbach’s Alpha > 0.70. Data were analysed using SPSS 25 with descriptive, correlation, and factor analyses. The findings reveal that the microsystem, particularly peer relationships and social media interactions, is the most dominant determinant of cyberbullying behaviour in wetland communities. Abstract

This study aims to map and analyze the scientific landscape of online gender-based violence (OGBV) comprehensively through a bibliometric approach, utilizing the Scopus database and the VOSviewer visualization tool. The goal is to identify trends in topic evolution, key research focus clusters, and prospective research gaps. This method quantifies and visualizes the research structure of OGBV from 2016 to 2025. The results of the Co-Keyword analysis show that the scientific literature is very focused on two main concepts: "cyber violence" and "cyber-bullying". Research has shifted from an initial focus on adolescent cyber-bullying to more gender-specific contemporary and social issues, such as "hate speech" and "online harassment" on "social media". The cluster analysis grouped the research into three main areas: 1) Studies on Victims and Their Impacts (focusing on psychology and quantitative methodologies), 2) Digital Contexts and Forms of Violence (focusing on social media and specific violence), and 3) Gender-Based Violence Relationships and Aspects (focusing on perpetrators, prevention, and online-offline relationships). The main research gap identified in the prevention area, where the term density remains low, underscores the urgency of developing effective interventions and strategies for OGBV. Keywords: bibliometrics, online gender-based violence, vosviewer, cyber violence
