Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between growth mindset and academic self-efficacy in students. The hypothesis in this research is that a positive relationship exists between growth mindset and academic self-efficacy in students. This research method uses quantitative research. The type of research used is descriptive. The primary data source used is students. The data collection technique uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale. The data analysis used a correlation between variables. The research results obtained a correlation coefficient (rxy) = 0.507 (p = 0.000), meaning a positive relationship exists between growth mindset and academic self-efficacy in students. The coefficient of determination (R2) is 0.257, which shows that work enthusiasm contributes to work discipline only 25.7%. At the same time, the rest is influenced by other factors not examined in this research.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine how the media pop up in learning biology sub-material utilization of biodiversity based on the results of ethnobotany high blood pressure reduction drugs in the village of Mekar Main district of Ketapang. The technique used is with interviews, observations, and documentation which is a combination of triangulation techniques. The media validation of the pop-up book with a validator of five people, including a professor of Biology Education at FKIP University tanjungpura consisted of two people, and a teacher of biology subjects consisting of three people from different high schools/MAs. Validation analysis of pop up book media using Lawshe's formula, with 12 evaluation criteria, obtained a CVI score of 0.96 and considered valid. This means that the pop-up book media is worthy and can be used as a biology learning medium on biodiversity exploitation sub-materials.

Abstract

At the beginning of independence, in 1945-1949, Indonesia experienced a shortage of teachers which resulted in low educational standards. Plus the security conditions where the Dutch tried to thwart Indonesian independence. This research aims to determine teacher development during the 1945-1949 revolution, existing teacher education schools, and obstacles to teacher education. The historical method used through the stages of heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography obtained the following results. First, changes to the education sector to replace the colonial system were formulated through several formulations, one of which was to meet the teacher shortage. The Education Congress of 1947 determined that education was oriented towards cultivating a spirit of patriotism and willingness to sacrifice. Second, to immediately overcome the teacher shortage, the government established Teacher School C (2 years), Teacher School B (4 years), and Teacher School A (3 years). Vocational teacher schools were also established, such as the Technical Teachers School (KGST), the Women's Skills Teachers School (SGKP), and the Islamic Religious Teachers and Judges School (SGHAI). Third, obstacles to teacher education in this era are not only caused by domestic security conditions, but also due to limited teacher educators and a lack of facilities and teaching materials. For secondary and vocational school teaching, only MO A and B Diploma courses are available. In addition, many teachers' school students choose to join the national defense effort.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the factors that support and hinder classroom management strategies and evaluate the effectiveness of these strategies in enhancing the quality of learning. The research methodology employed is descriptive in nature and adopts a qualitative approach. The primary data sources consist of interviews, observations, and documentation obtained from school principals, teachers, and staff members. Secondary data sources include relevant journals, books, and websites. The data analysis entails data display, data reduction, and drawing conclusions. The findings of the study reveal the following: 1) Teachers employ various strategies in classroom management such as maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere, adopting personal approaches towards students, organizing seating arrangements, providing individual attention, and offering constructive warnings. These efforts significantly contribute to improving the learning process and outcomes. 2) The supporting factors for effective classroom management strategies encompass the availability of adequate facilities, a relevant school curriculum, teachers' abilities and competencies, a conducive learning environment, collaborative interactions among teachers, school administrators, and principals, an efficient school management system, and a strong teacher-student rapport. 3) Teachers also employ strategic initiatives in classroom management, including the provision of school facilities, the inclusion of Quranic reading prior to lessons, the enhancement of teacher competence, self-evaluation by teachers throughout the planning and implementation stages of teaching, including lesson planning, and efforts to assess the students' circumstances. In conclusion, enhancing the quality of learning is contingent not only upon the efforts of teachers but also necessitates support from various factors, such as teacher competence, adequate facilities and infrastructure, and a conducive learning environment.

Abstract

The background of this research is the low thinking ability of students in storing memories of Al-Qur'an tahfizh like a computer, even though the human brain is more powerful than a computer. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of the brain based teaching model to improve the computational thinking skills of tahfizh Al-Qur'an students in class X MAN 5 Agam. This research method is classroom action research (PTK). The instruments used in this research were tests in the form of pre-test and post-test questions, observations of teacher performance and student performance during the implementation of learning and documentation in the form of lesson plans and photos of activities. This research was carried out in 2 cycles. The data analysis used is quantitative data analysis and qualitative data analysis. Quantitative data analysis is used to analyze average test results using a brain-based teaching model to improve computational thinking skills in understanding the Al-Qur'an. The steps to determine the average test result score are the number obtained by students (∑×) divided by the number of students (n). Meanwhile, qualitative data analysis is used to provide information that describes the improvement in teacher performance results and student activities using the brain based teaching model which is applied during the implementation of learning using observation sheets. Data collected from observation sheets was analyzed qualitatively in the form of percentages (%). This shows that the results of cycle I are 68%, which means it is in the "sufficient" category and has not yet reached classical completion. Meanwhile, in cycle II the results were 86%, which means it was in the "very good" category and had achieved classical completion.

Abstract

This study describes the history of Islam in Australia, highlighting the influx of Muslims and depicting the development of Islam in the country. This research employs the historical method, comprising four stages: heuristics for source collection, source verification or criticism, interpretation or analysis, and historiography for historical writing. The results of this study demonstrate that Islam began to spread to Australia in the early 17th century, primarily due to the regular presence of Makassar fishermen and traders searching for tripang. The next wave of Muslims who came and settled in Australia were Afghan Muslims, Malay Muslims, Indians, Albanians, Lebanese, Indonesians, and so on. The presence of Islam encourages Islamic education in the country, starting with non-formal Islamic education centered in mosques, homes, or offices of Islamic organizations. Various Muslim communities conduct studies and seminars on weekends, commonly known as 'Saturday or Sunday School.' The 1970s saw the establishment of formal Islamic schools in response to the growing Muslim population. The development of Islamic education in Australia gained momentum in the mid-1990s. Privately run Islamic schools adopt the entire local education system, with an additional six hours per week for religious content. As Islamic schools have developed, they have expanded to various states in Australia. The attitude of tolerance and openness that Islamic schools in Australia cultivate supports this

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop and evaluate the efficacy of the student worksheet based on discovery learning and a scientific approach to the material structure and function of plants. The employed research method is Borg and Gall development research, which consists of five stages: research and information gathering, planning, product development, product testing, and product revision. The instruments for research were LKPD validation sheets and multiple-choice tests. CVR and CVI values of 1.00 indicated that discovery-based learning worksheets with a scientific approach were valid and suitable for use as instructional materials. Based on the results of the effect size test calculation, a student worksheet based on discovery learning and a scientific approach developed has an effectiveness value of 3.60 in the strong category. This demonstrates the use of discovery-based learning worksheets with a scientific approach contributing 99.98% of the learning outcomes of 34 students in class VIII E at SMPN 14 Pontianak regarding the structure and function of plants
