Abstract

Presentation is not easy to do. This is because many students experience anxiety during presentation performance. This research aimed to investigate various types of EFL students' speaking anxiety and to know the possible factors that influence EFL students' speaking anxiety in Language Center during presentation performance. The researcher used quantitative research with a survey design. A questionnaire was used to collect the data. The participants were 50 students at the Language Center Kampung Inggris Pare who took the intensive program for one month in class B. This study found that there were three types of speaking anxiety related to presentation performance in EFL students at the language center: communication apprehension, test anxiety, and fear of negative evaluation. In addition, internal and external factors influence speaking anxiety, including shyness, embarrassment, lack of self-confidence, fear of making mistakes, motivation, limited vocabulary, lack of preparation, grammatical errors, and friends/classmates. It is recommended that teachers pay attention to the students’ anxiety in doing presentations because controlling the anxiety will make the presentation successful

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of education costs at the Daarut Tauhiid Islamic Boarding School by examining financing policies, budget planning, implementation and use of funds, financial organization, supervision and its contribution to the quality of education. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the Islamic boarding school financing policy is based on sharia principles, accountability, and participation. Budget planning is carried out systematically through identification of needs, analysis of funding sources, and determination of program priorities. The implementation of the use of funds is carried out according to plan, with transparent and flexible recording of the dynamics of needs. The organization of funds is carried out through a clear and professional structure, while supervision is carried out periodically through internal and external audits. Financing support has been proven to contribute to improving the quality of education through improving facilities and infrastructure, improving teacher welfare, and strengthening the character education program for students. This study recommends increasing public participation in financial supervision and diversifying financing sources through productive waqf and Islamic boarding school business units.

Abstract

Moral and character education is an urgent necessity in responding to the moral crisis among the younger generation in the modern era. This study aims to describe the character education model for students (santri) through the BAKU Program (Baik dan Kuat – Good and Strong) at Daarut Tauhiid Islamic Boarding School. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation study. The findings reveal that the BAKU Program is implemented in an integrated manner through value habituation, exemplary behavior, and continuous supervision. The core character values developed include honesty, responsibility, discipline, independence, and manners. Supporting factors of the program’s success include the strong pesantren culture, active role of mentors, and consistent caregiving system. The BAKU Program has proven effective in shaping students’ character holistically in spiritual, social, and emotional aspects. This study recommends that similar models be replicated in other Islamic educational institutions with adjustments to local contexts.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the ability of chemistry teachers in understanding integrated assessments. The study used a mixed method Embedded Design Experimental. The ability of chemistry teachers to design and implement integrated assessments with innovative learning models, problem-solving thinking skills, and technological skills is still a challenge, especially abstract materials such as the laws of Thermodynamics (energy and its changes). Previously, observations were conducted based on questionnaires distributed to participants to determine the level of understanding of participants in making integrated assessments. Participants' responses to ignorance on integrated assessments reached 80%. Therefore, the MER approach was carried out to improve the quality of knowledge on integrated assessments. Based on the results of the implementation, the average N-gain was in the medium and high categories (conceptual understanding 0.69, problem-solving thinking skills 0.62, and PhET skills 0.71), this indicates an increase in quality. Through the ANOVA test, the acquisition of conceptual understanding scores with (p <0.001) showed a significant difference in participants who obtained the medium and high categories. Meanwhile, there were no significant differences in problem-solving thinking skills (p = 0.024) and PhET technology skills (p = 0.071) across all participants. This study involved 20 chemistry teachers from Maluku and Papua. Participants' responses to the assessment implementation were 80% good and 20% very good.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an Program on the Memorization Quality of fourth-grade students at MI Darul Amanah Kalianda. The research employed a quantitative method with causal theory. Hypothesis testing was conducted using the t-test and simple linear regression analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation. The study population consisted of 26 fourth-grade students, using a total population approach. Data analysis using SPSS software resulted in the regression equation Y = 31.182 + 0.587X, where the Tahfidz Program significantly influenced Memorization Quality with a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05). The t-test results showed tcount = 6.927, greater than ttable = 1.711, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. Thus, the Tahfidz Al-Qur'an Program has been proven to have a positive and significant impact on improving students' memorization quality. This study emphasizes the importance of structured tahfidz program implementation, parental support, and student motivation to optimize tahfidz learning outcomes in schools

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the ability of first-grade elementary school students to express apology and gratitude through the development of a lesson based on the traditional Indonesian game, Batun Bageq. Batun Bageq, a popular game in Indonesia, was used as a medium to enhance students' communication skills. The developed lesson included materials, methods, and media tailored to the needs and characteristics of first-grade students. The results showed that the game-based lesson significantly improved students' ability to express apology and gratitude in a more effective and interactive manner. Therefore, this lesson can serve as an effective alternative for enhancing students' communication skills in first-grade elementary school settings

Abstract

Educational financial management plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of educational services provided in schools. Effective management of school funds ensures that resources are utilized efficiently, supports the achievement of educational goals, and fosters trust among stakeholders. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of school fund management through a comprehensive literature review, focusing on key aspects such as transparency, accountability, and good governance. Using a qualitative approach, this study reviews previous research on school fund management and its impact on educational outcomes. The findings indicate that the effectiveness of school fund management is strongly influenced by the managerial competence of school principals, active community involvement, and the consistent application of principles of good governance. Furthermore, accountable and transparent reporting mechanisms are essential in preventing fund misuse, enhancing stakeholder confidence, and promoting sustainable educational development. This study recommends strengthening financial management capacity in schools through regular training, technical assistance, and continuous supervision. The insights gained from this research are expected to provide guidance for policymakers and school administrators to improve the management and utilization of education funds at the school level.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of the philosophy of science as a foundation in the transformation of Christian Religious Education in the digital era. Using a qualitative research method through literature review, this study analyzes various literatures related to the philosophy of science, educational technology, and the development of Christian Religious Education in the context of digitalization. The results show that the philosophy of science is an important foundation for understanding and integrating digital technology without neglecting Christian faith values. This educational transformation brings a paradigm shift that demands the adaptation of methods and learning media to be more relevant and effective in addressing the challenges of the digital era. Furthermore, the study identifies various challenges such as digital ethics and the risk of individualism that educators and learners must face. However, the digital era also opens great opportunities for the development of innovative learning media that can enhance the quality and attractiveness of Christian Religious Education. The philosophical implications of this transformation emphasize the importance of maintaining spiritual and moral integrity in educational practice, so that the younger generation is not only intellectually intelligent but also strong in faith and character. In conclusion, the transformation of Christian Religious Education in the digital era must be based on the philosophy of science to create an adaptive education rooted in Christian values

Abstract

Learning using the Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) approach integrated with the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) approach is considered to be quite influential not only on the development of students' knowledge but also on the formation of students' cultural identity. This research is based on the decline in cultural understanding of the nation's generations because education has so far only been oriented toward students' cognitive development, so there is a need for learning that can integrate understanding of culture as national identity and students' cognitive development. This research will reveal how the TaRL-integrated CRT approach is implemented in teachers' efforts to provide meaningful learning to students. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive approach by conducting interviews with teachers who apply both approaches. Apart from interviews with teachers, this research was also carried out by giving questionnaires to students. The results of this research show the importance of preparing a Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) as a teacher's effort to realize learning that is by these two approaches. After that, the teacher prepares a diagnostic assessment to analyze students' learning needs. At the diagnostic assessment stage, it shows that some teachers still feel confused about the diagnostic assessment instruments and some students are not ready to learn so the results of the diagnostic assessment are less effective. Next, namely the student grouping stage, the teacher provides differentiated tasks based on the results of the student diagnostic assessment analysis. The next stage is the learning stage, where the teacher will provide learning that is appropriate to local culture to provide meaningful learning. The result is that learning is more effective and enjoyable because it is to the students' local culture. The benefit is that students can also take positive values ​​to apply in their daily lives.

Abstract

Teachers should ideally possess good classroom management competence, because with this competence teachers are able to create a conducive learning environment, maintain order, reduce problems of student misbehavior, encourage student motivation and achievement, build student participation and collaboration, as well as improve the effectiveness of meaningful teaching and learning processes, so that the development of students’ potential and the learning objectives can be achieved optimally. Teacher management is one way to improve teachers’ competence in managing the classroom. Therefore, this research aims to analyze and discover the effectiveness of teacher management in improving classroom management competence in the tahfizh program at Pondok Pesantren Al-Hayah, East Jakarta. The method used in this research is the survey method with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and in-depth document studies with the pesantren leaders, Qismul Qur’an, and tahfizh teachers, as well as documentation of teaching and learning activities, while data analysis was carried out through a triangulation approach with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this research show that teacher management which is adaptive to the cultural context of the pesantren and based on spiritual values has proven effective in improving classroom management competence in the tahfizh program, especially under conditions of limited access to formal education and training
