Jurnal Warta Pengabdian Andalas (JWA) Jurnal Warta Pengabdian Andalas (JWA) is a scientific journal managed by LPPM Universitas Andalas. This journal accepts articles related to community services for Indonesian society in field of both life and social sciences. It is published four times in a year, namely March, June, September, and December.   Jurnal Warta Pengabdian Andalas (JWA), with registered number ISSN 0854-655X (print),  is a scientific multidisciplinary journal published by Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat Universitas Andalas. It is in the national level that covers a lot of common problems or issues related to community services. The aim of this journal publication is to disseminate the conceptual thoughts or ideas and research results that have been achieved in the area of community services. Jurnal Warta Pengabdian Andalas (JWA), contains various activities of the teaching staff in Universitas Andalas in handling and managing the various potentials, obstacles, challenges, and problems that exist in society. Implementation of service activities also involve the participation of the community and partners. Service activities are organized into an activity aimed at improving the welfare of society. In the following year of publication, the journal is going to publish four-nually. Any interested author could submit the manuscript following the submission guidelines. Please read these guidelines carefully. Authors who want to submit their manuscript to the editorial office of Jurnal Warta Pengabdian Andalas (JWA) should obey the writing guidelines. If the manuscript submitted is not appropriate with the guidelines or written in a different format, it will be REJECTED by the editors before further reviewed. The editors will only accept the manuscripts which meet the assigned format. Every article that goes to the editorial staff will be selected through Desk Review and Initial Manuscript Evaluation processes by Editorial Board. Then, the articles will be sent to the peer reviewer and will go to the next selection by Double Blind Peer-Review Process. Further details on reviewing policy and processes are available on submission guidelines.

Abstract

This article discusses the activities of the Nagari Rule Drafting Training in Nagari Sungai Buluh TimurKecamatan Batang Anai. From this activity revealed that there is still no understanding of nagari device inarranging Nagari Regulation. This is because that Nagari Sungai Buluh Timur is a new nagari ofpemekaran. So far, the existing nagari regulation only regulates the general matters only and has nottouched upon the special case in accordance with the meaning of regional autonomy. In this training themethod used is to provide a basic knowledge of the formation of the nagari rules and training on theprocedures for the formation of the nagari rules. The nagari regulations are made according to the needsof the nagari by forming small groups. The implementation of this activity received a very enthusiastic response from the nagari device. At the end of the activity between the participants with the Bagian HAN of the Faculty of Law Unand gave birth to a part commitment to accompany the coming arrangement of the next Nagari Sungai Buluh Timur.

Abstract

There has been an attempt to accommodate the aspirations of the people in developmentplanning through a tiered process, such as the implementation of Musrembang starting from theKelurahan level. However, not all of the aspirations of the community can be channeled through theofficial mechanisms implemented in this government development plan, another channel is needed sothat the aspirations of the unpardonable community in the implementation of Musrembang in Kelurahancan be channeled through other channels outside the government based on local values . Communityservice in Lambuang Bukik urban village, Pauh subdistrict, Padang City is trying to improve the formof development planning based on local values of the community, so that the aspirations of thecommunity that is channeled in the implementation of Musrembang Kelurahan is not only the workprogram of SKPD Kelurahan or other SKPD government agencies but can also be work programs thatcan be funded by community empowerment activities. Through the use of SWOT analysis and adultlearning cycle method and experience, the community participation level in developing developmentplanning and increasing knowledge in formulating the form of community participation planning inLambuang Bukik village, Pauh sub-district, Padang city.

Abstract

Nagari Sungai Durian of Solok District is one of the village that has various problems suchas drought, high number of unused land and the distance of urban access. In the cultivation of foodcrops required a lot of water such as rice, so that productivity is not optimal. For that the selection ofcorn as a cultivation plant is a possible thing because corn plants merupkan food crops that do notrequire much water. But some of the constraints faced when corn plant perspectives are low productivitydue to disruption of pests and diseases and soil less fertile. The solution that can be offered is by plantingcorn crops that are more resistant to drought and the use of rhizobacteria as pest and disease controlagents. In addition to pest and disease control agents, the use of rhizobacteria which also called PGPR(Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria) that can increase growth and yield of plants. The purpose ofthis community service program is to provide knowledge to the community in the cultivation of corncrops with the application of rhizobacteria. This activity is done by socialization and demonstrationplot. This activity has been able to educate the general community about farmers about corn cultivationwith rhizobakteri application. From this activity also can be concluded that corn plant with applicationof Rhizobakteri have growth and yield higher than corn plant without application of Rhizobakteri.

Abstract

Dental caries is the most common chronic disease of children. Caries is associated withpain and loss of teeth, as well as impaired growth, decreased weight gain, and negative effectson appearance, self-esteem, speech, and school performance. Therefore, oral health shouldalways be maintained. Healthy teeth results in comfort in talking, eating, drinking,and doingall primary activities that humans desperately need. Therefore, community service activities toimprove and care for dental and oral health at the national level. Through this dedication isexpected dentists can share knowledge to the community as a form of community service. The activities are form of cooperation between Faculty of Dentistry Andalas University andUniversity of North Sumatera alumnae. This service are held in SDN 19 South Painan consistof counseling, mass toothbrushing , and dental screening .

Abstract

Screening for dental caries and risk for caries in young children prior to school entry couldidentify caries at an earlier and reversible stage, and lead to interventions to treat existing caries,prevent progression of caries, and reduce incidence of future lesions. Screening strategies typicallyinclude oral health risk assessment and visual examination to identify high-risk children, including thosewho already have caries. Primary care clinicians can play an important role in screening for dentalcaries. Therefore, community service activities to prevent dental caries can improve and care for dentaland oral health at the national level. Through this dedication is expected dentists can share knowledgeto the community as a form of community service. The service activities are held in SDN 03 Alai Padang, as the cooperation form with Indonesia Dental Association (PDGI) to celebrate World oral HealthDay .This activity consist counseling and mass toothbrushing.

Abstract

The implementation of national development at this time is followed by increasing environmental problems, such as floods, landslides, droughts and forest fires. This is due to human ambition to fulfilltheir needs without thinking further about environmental damage. Therefore, it requires commitmentand responsibility of the community to save the earth from early age. One embodiment of environmentalcare in early age is through adiwiyata program in elementary school. Adiwiyata encourages thecreation of knowledge and awareness of students in environmental conservation efforts. SDN 05Kampung Pisang has a beautiful environment and is far from pollution. This school has teachers whoare committed to environmental care so that they have the potential to become adiwiyata school.However, there has never been any socialization regarding the importance of protecting theenvironment to students. This community service aims to increase participation and foster awareness ofstudents from an early age to care about the environment. The method are analyzing the school'sreadiness in adiwiyata activities, giving counseling to students and providing environmental learningfacilities care to schools. The result from the activities, there was no specific program regarding theenvironmental care. From the counseling conducted, it was found that students' awareness about theenvironment was increased. It is expected that the school will utilize the learning facilities providedfrom this activities and start to do the adiwiyata program actively.

Abstract

Hal utama yang perlu diciptakan adalah membangun rasa nyaman bagi wisatawan. Untuk itu hal utama yang harus dibangun adalah bagaimana menciptakan kenyamanan bagipengunjung melalui komunikasi yang baik dari seluruh unsur terkait yang ada di daerah tersebutterutama masyarakat sekitar yang banyak berinteraksi dengan pengunjung, karena kawasanwisata ini terletak atau dikeliling oleh pemukiman masyarakat. Melalui pemahaman komunikasipariwisata diharapkan masyarakat sekitar siap dan mendukung pengembangan wisata di PantaiPasia Tiku sehingga akan meningkatkan jumlah pengunjung yang datang, yang akhirnya jugaakan berimbas kepada pendapatan masyarakat sekitar. Pelatihan komunikasi pariwisata inidilakukan di Kec. Tanjung Mutiara dengan peserta dari penggiat pariwisata dan masyarakat.Kegiatan ini menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi, simulasi dan studi kasus. Dari hasilpelatihan diharapkan masyarakat bertambah wawasan dan keterampilannya dalam mendukungdan berkontribusi untuk pengembangan pariwisata di Tiku.

Abstract

Kegiatan pertambangan emas di Nagari Koto Tuo telah berlangsung lama dengan segalaperkembangan kegiatan pertambangannya. Kegiatan pertambangan emas di Nagari Koto Tuomenimbulkan dampak positif dan negative. Dampak positif misalnya meningkatnyapereknomian masyarakat yang berimbas pada meningkatnya ksejahteraan masyarakat danmeningkatnya pendidikan generasi muda. Akan tetapi dampak negatifnya juga bnyakdiantaranya, kerusakan lingkungan yang sangat massif, kehidupan masyarakat menjadikonsumtif, konflik ditengah-tengah masyarakat bahkan yang sangat pentin adalah semakinmenipisnya lahan pertanian produktif masyarakat. Dari 114 Ha luas lahan pertanian sebanyak± 85 ha sudah berubah menjadi lahan tambang. Sementara hampir 80 % mata pencaharianmasyarakat Nagari Koto Tuo adalah dari sector pertanian, dan 4 tahun terakhir ini beralihprofesi menjadi penambang emas sebanyak 70 %. Dalam 2 (dua) tahun terakhirini kandunganemas yang terdapat di Nagari Koto Tuo semakin sedikit, sementara lahan pertanian banyak yangtelah berubah menjadi lahan tambang dan setelah emasnya habis tiak dilakukan reklamasi danupaya konservasi lahan, sehingga lahan tambang tersebut dibiarkan begitu saja menjadi lahantidur dan tidak diurus dengan baik, sehingga kondisi ini tentu saja akan berdampak pada tingkatperekonomian dan kesejahteraan masyarakat, oleh sebab itu diperlukan sebuah upaya„pemaksaan‟ bagi masyarakat pemilik lahan untuk mellakukan reklamasi dan konservasi lahanbekas tambang menjadi lahan produktif yang pengaturannya diperlukan melalui peraturan legalformal berbentuk Peraturan Nagari tentang Reklamasi Bekas Lahan Tambang.

Abstract

This program partner is the member of Expectance Family Program (Program KeluargaHarapan/PKH) and cassava crackers (opak) female producers. The activity of processing cassava intocassava crackers were taken place in Nagari Tanjung Gadang while cassava leaf dendeng and cassavanugget processing were taken place in Nagari Ampalu. The counseling about food additive were also donein both places. Teh program were done by andragogy method (counseling and practicing). The result shownthat the program participants had the knowledge about food additive and its hazardous effect of the carelessusage. The fermentation and cassava processing into cassava crackers were done corresponding to rulesof sanitation, the processing equipments also possible to enhance productivity and sanitation of theprocessess. In coclusion, this program is able to increase cassava crackers processing productivity by 3times and to raise the income by 300%. The questionnaires given after the activity shown participants interest to initiate the production of dendeng cassava leaf and cassava nugget commercially.

Abstract

Salah satu pemicu ditulisnya topik ini adalah berkembangnya teknologi yang bisadigunakan dalam pengajaran bahasa Jepang. Pembelajar bahasa Jepang dapat menggunakanweb media untuk mempelajari bahasa Jepang. Tetapi permasalahannya adalah kurangnyapengetahuan pembelajar dalam penggunaan media ini. Salah satu hal yang dirasa sulit olehguru-guru bahasa Jepang adalah bagaimana meningkatkan kemampuan menulis sakubunbahasa Jepang. Pembelajaran sakubun dalam makalah ini di fokuskan pada pembelajar bahasaJepang dengan menggunakan web media. Makalah ini adalah juga sebagai hasil daripelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat bersama dengan MGMP Bahasa Jepang di SumateraBarat. Hasil dari kegiatan ini cara belajar dengan memanfaatkan web media akan meningkatkanmotivasi pembelajar bahasa Jepang. Selain itu, diharapkan juga pembelajar dapat memahamitata bahasa dan budaya yang terdapat dalam bacaan bahasa Jepang tersebut.
