Abstract

This study aims to analyze digital banking usage behavior by developing a Modified UTAUT2 model that integrates trust and digital resilience within the context of Medan City, Indonesia. A quantitative causal approach was employed using survey data collected from 316 active digital banking users selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling with SmartPLS 4.1 to evaluate both measurement and structural models. The results indicate that performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, and trust significantly influence behavioral intention, while behavioral intention and habit significantly influence use behavior, with habit emerging as the strongest predictor of actual usage. Facilitating conditions were not found to significantly affect use behavior. Digital resilience did not moderate the relationships between behavioral intention, facilitating conditions, habit, and use behavior in the main model; however, it demonstrated significant direct effects on both behavioral intention and use behavior in the exploratory model. Additionally, digital resilience negatively moderated the relationship between performance expectancy and behavioral intention, suggesting that highly resilient users rely less on instrumental performance perceptions in forming intention. The model exhibits moderate to high predictive power, explaining 47.6 percent of behavioral intention and 68.3 percent of use behavior. The findings extend UTAUT2 by highlighting the role of adaptive capacity in digital financial service adoption and provide practical implications for strengthening trust, usability, and habitual engagement in digital banking services.

Abstract

In this classroom context, several first-year students showed difficulty maintaining learning focus when basic economic concepts were delivered through long and continuous oral explanations. This classroom condition created challenges in Introduction to Economics, a conceptual course that requires students to understand abstract and interrelated concepts. This study aimed to improve student's understanding of basic economic concepts through the implementation of Direct Instruction integrated with formative assessment using a chunking technique. A Classroom Action Research design was employed in two cycles involving 19 first-semester Industrial Engineering students at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Kalimantan Timur. Learning materials were presented in small, sequential conceptual units, and each unit was followed by formative assessment and immediate feedback. Data were analyzed descriptively by comparing class mean scores, the number and percentage of students achieving the minimum mastery criteria, and observed changes in student’s learning engagement. The results showed a positive improvement in the local classroom context. The percentage of students achieving the minimum mastery criteria increased from only 15.8% in the pre-action stage to 36.8% in Cycle I and 84.2% in Cycle II, with the average score of class rising from 34.3 in pre-action stage to 59.8 in Cycle I and 83.8 in Cycle II and average score of students who achieved mastery rising from 70.6 in pre-action stage to 77.4 in Cycle I and 88.8 in Cycle II. Students also demonstrated better focus, more active participation, and reduced anxiety during the learning process. These findings indicate that Direct Instruction combined with chunking and formative assessment has practical potential to support the improvement of basic economic concept learning in the class studied.

Abstract

The use of non linear loads in high rise elevator systems, such as Variable Speed Drives (VSD), provides significant energy efficiency, but on the other hand causes harmonic distortion. This study aims to analyze the harmonic characteristics of a 6 unit elevator system in the PT ASIM Tower using the Total Demand Distortion (TDD) parameter based on the IEEE 519-1992 standard. Measurements were taken at the 400 V voltage common coupling point. The measurement results showed current harmonic distortion (THDi) values of 86% for phase R, 77% for phase S, and 74% for phase T. To assess compliance with IEEE 519-1992, the Total Demand Distortion (TDD) limit was determined based on the ratio between the available short-circuit current (Isc) and the maximum demand load current (IL) at the Point of Common Coupling (PCC). The calculated Isc/IL ratio placed the system in the IEEE 519-1992 category with a maximum allowable TDD limit of 8%. Based on the calculated compensation current requirement, an Active Harmonic Filter (AHF) with a nominal capacity of 32.34 A was identified as a potential mitigation measure. However, verification through post-installation measurements or simulation studies is required to confirm the final TDD level.

Abstract

Urban green open space (GOS) plays an essential role in maintaining environmental balance and improving the quality of urban life. Accurate spatial information is therefore required to support sustainable urban planning and management. This study aims to utilize high-resolution QuickBird satellite imagery for mapping green open spaces and developing thematic maps in Samarinda City, Indonesia. The research employed visual interpretation and digital image analysis integrated with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to identify land cover characteristics and classify green open space distribution. Field verification was conducted to improve classification accuracy and validate spatial data. The results demonstrate that QuickBird imagery provides detailed spatial information capable of distinguishing vegetation patterns, urban infrastructure, and land-use variations effectively. The generated thematic maps present updated spatial information that can support urban planning, environmental monitoring, and decision-making processes related to sustainable city development. This approach highlights the effectiveness of high-resolution remote sensing data as a reliable tool for urban spatial analysis and green space management.

Abstract

This quantitative research evaluates how learning orientation, diagnostic control systems, and interactive control systems impact product innovation and company performance within the creative economy context in Indonesia. The rapid growth of Indonesia’s creative industry faces ongoing challenges regarding product innovation development, and corporate performance enhancement. To investigate these dynamics, data were gathered both in person and online from three hundred and thirty-two owners and managers of the traditional Songket weaving industry across Riau, South Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Squares was utilized as the primary analytical instrument to measure the relationships between the variables. The findings demonstrate that learning orientation significantly and positively affects both product innovation and company performance. Additionally, interactive control systems positively influence product innovation, while diagnostic control systems focus more on operational efficiency and goal achievement. Product innovation is also proven to directly enhance company performance and substantially mediate the relationships between both control systems and firm performance. Practitioners should cultivate an organizational learning culture and implement flexible management control systems, while future researchers should consider external factors such as market dynamics and government policies

Abstract

This study examines the governance of Indonesia’s urban search and rescue team (INASAR/Basarnas) in the 2023 Türkiye earthquake and the 2025 Myanmar earthquake, where life-saving operations were highly time-sensitive. Anchored in the 72-hour golden time, it addresses a central question: why did a classified international USAR team with early access to situational information become operational only around day six in both missions? Using a qualitative explanatory multi-case design, the study draws on semi-structured interviews, mission reports, and operational guidelines. The analysis combines event logs, process mapping, and directed thematic analysis to trace the pathway from external trigger to initial operational readiness. The findings show that the delays were not caused by the absence of early information, weak technical capacity, or the lack of international requests. Instead, they emerged from a serial chain of governance bottlenecks involving delayed decision conversion, layered resource authorization, sequential financing access, the bundling of USAR with non-USAR assistance, cross-border clearance, and personnel-equipment desynchronization in practice. These processes reduced arrival-to-initial-readiness and narrowed the team’s potential life-saving contribution. The study proposes the concept of serial bottleneck deployment governance to explain how deployment delays are produced through interconnected governance processes on the sending-state side. It concludes that more effective deployment requires a dedicated USAR decision track, readiness financing, stronger standing readiness, and a more modular deployment design under emergency conditions.

Abstract

Youth political participation, particularly among university students and novice voters, serves as a crucial element in dynamizing democracy and driving socio-political change in Indonesia. While the digital era has significantly expanded participatory channels ranging from offline institutional movements to contemporary digital activism, the quantitative impact of these multidimensional activities on actual cognitive outcomes remains largely unsynthesized. The existing empirical evidence is highly fragmented, necessitating a comprehensive evaluation. Therefore, this study aims to systematically estimate the correlation strength between youth political participation and their levels of political awareness and democratic perception. Guided by the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) framework, this research synthesized 12 primary quantitative studies comprising a total of 2,345 youth participants. The statistical analysis utilized a Random Effects Model to accommodate contextual diversity, alongside Egger's regression and funnel plot analysis to rigorously evaluate publication bias. The analytical results reveal a highly robust, statistically significant positive correlation [] between political involvement and cognitive maturation, despite substantial inter-study heterogeneity (I-squared = 94%). Subsequent bias detection objectively confirmed the absence of the file-drawer problem, ensuring the reliability of the pooled estimate. Ultimately, this meta-analysis empirically confirms that active youth participation substantially functions as a school of democracy that accelerates cognitive mobilization. The findings offer a solid empirical foundation for educational stakeholders, electoral commissions, and student organizations to design evidence-based political education programs and digital literacy interventions to safeguard novice voters against electoral disinformation.

Abstract

Small-scale drilling experiments are designed to represents field blasthole-drilling conditions therefore it can be used to support decision-making process in mining operations. This study is a laboratory-scale drilling investigation, conducted to determine the penetration rate and the appearance of drilling dust clouds under varying material hardness and engine RPM (revolution per minute). Drilling was carried out on concrete media using bench drilling equipment under 7 (seven) different conditions based on material hardness and RPM. Data on drilling speed, drilling time and penetration rate were used for analysis and to support the conclusion. The results indicated that the penetration rate in soft material is faster than in hard material. The increase in penetration rate occurs proportionally with the increase of RPM in soft material. In hard material, significant differences in penetration rate occur in drilling under slow and medium RPM, whereas there is no significant difference in penetration rates between drilling under medium and high RPM.  In hard materials, there exist a "threshold level" which increasing drill RPM does not significantly affect the penetration rate. The presence of simple or non-complex discontinuities in the concrete material does not significantly affect the penetration rates. Drilling operations under low RPM tend to produce more dust clouds.

Abstract

Market snack businesses, which are generally managed by housewives, face problems to maintain competitiveness because they are in a digital market environment. Product creativity, although important for differentiation, is not strong enough to increase competitiveness without the support of digital literacy. This study aims to analyze the mediating role of digital literacy in the relationship between product creativity and competitiveness. This research was conducted in Indonesia, specifically in Makassar City. Research with 135 respondents using a quantitative approach, hypothesis testing was carried out using SEM-PLS. The results show that product creativity has a significant effect on digital literacy and competitiveness, although the direct influence on competitiveness is relatively weaker than the mediated path. Digital literacy has a positive and significant effect on competitiveness and plays an important role as a mediator of the relationship between product creativity and competitiveness. These findings suggest that creativity in product variety, packaging, and innovation is the basis for business differentiation, but sustainable competitiveness is more effectively achieved when combined with digital literacy. Theoretically, this study emphasizes digital literacy as a strategic capability of MSMEs, while practically emphasizing the importance of improving digital skills for market snack business actors to optimize creativity and expand market opportunities. Therefore, enhancing digital literacy among housewives is crucial for sustaining their market snack businesses in the competitive digital economy.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze visitor sentiment toward public facilities at Teras Samarinda based on user-generated reviews collected from digital platforms. The increasing number of online reviews provides valuable insights into visitor satisfaction; however, manual analysis is inefficient due to the large volume of data. Therefore, this research applies a text mining approach to automatically classify sentiments into positive, negative, and neutral categories. The dataset consists of 165 comments obtained from YouTube, representing visitor experiences and opinions. The preprocessing stage includes case folding, cleaning, tokenization, stopword removal, and stemming to ensure data quality. Subsequently, Term Frequency–Inverse Document Frequency is used to transform textual data into numerical features. The classification process is performed using the Naive Bayes algorithm. The dataset is divided into training and testing data to evaluate model performance using accuracy, precision, recall, and F1-score metrics. The results show that the model achieves an accuracy of 75.75%, indicating a relatively good performance in classifying sentiments. However, the model demonstrates limitations in distinguishing negative and neutral sentiments due to imbalanced data distribution. The findings reveal that most visitors express positive sentiment toward public facilities at Teras Samarinda, suggesting overall satisfaction. This study contributes to providing insights for improving facility quality and highlights the importance of handling imbalanced datasets in sentiment analysis.
