Abstract

Formal education relies heavily on effective teaching methods and styles, which are particularly crucial in language education. The transfer of linguistic skills between Russian, a Slavonic language, and Ewe, a Niger-Congo language, presents a complex challenge due to their structural and cultural differences. This study delves into the complexities of transferring skills from Russian, a language from the Slavic branch of the Indo-European family, to Ewe, a language of the Niger-Congo family, focusing on the interplay between teaching methodologies, psychological factors, and philosophical perspectives. The primary objectives were to evaluate the effectiveness of various teaching methods, analyze the psychological influences on language education, and understand how philosophical viewpoints shape language teaching practices. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, the research combined quantitative survey data from 60 participants with qualitative insights from interviews with 15 educators. The findings highlighted a preference for interactive and technology-assisted methods, with a strong emphasis on communicative techniques. The psychological assessment indicated high levels of motivation and adaptability among learners, favouring interactive and collaborative learning environments. Thematic analysis of philosophical perspectives revealed a diverse spectrum of ideologies that inform teaching practices. The study concludes that a pedagogical approach embracing interactivity, technological integration, and philosophical diversity is essential for effective language education. It calls for professional development that equips educators to employ a range of teaching methods and to effectively use technology. The research underscores the need for a learner-centred, adaptable educational paradigm that caters for diverse learner needs and preferences, advocating a more inclusive approach to language teaching.

Abstract

There have been several studies interested in combining Internet Computer Technology (ICT) in writing because it improves the writing performance of L2 students in a widespread link to instruction. However, an earlier study has concentrated on the specific writing technologies employed. Few research has examined students' impressions of Screencast's use as an online video-audio tool for delivering feedback. This study adds to the corpus of knowledge about Indonesian students' perspectives on feedback. Participation, revision incorporation, feedback performance, and student preferences are the four feedback components examined in this research. The acquisition of primary data used varied methods. Online perception surveys were sent to Indonesian second-year college students. Personal and quasi interviews were also employed to improve data and learn what may drive students to perceive more. To analyse the interview data, a descriptive analysis was performed. Students reported a high level of pleasure while using video feedback with a particular technology, Screencast, in an online writing course. The interview data provide support. The students believed that video feedback allows them to strengthen their writing skills more effectively than textual feedback provided by the teacher. In this study, the implications for language teaching and learning practice are examined further.

Abstract

Through conventional learning, learning news text writing skills is still oriented towards completing tasks given by the teacher. In addition, the teacher's role in learning is more dominant so that students have very little opportunity to explore their abilities. The purpose of this study is to evaluate how project-based learning using ChatGPT and digital literacy affect students' learning outcomes related to news text writing skills. Furthermore, this study aims to investigate how digital literacy and the ChatGPT-based project-based learning model interact to influence news text writing skills. This study, which used an experimental design with an independent samples test and an ANOVA 2-way analysis, demonstrates that using the ChatGPT-based project-based learning model greatly enhances the capacity to produce news articles. The tcount value of 4.025 > ttable 1.672 and the sig value of 0.000 < 0.05, which indicate that Ha is accepted, support this. However, with the value of Fo(P*L) 0.248 and sig value 0.621 > 0.05, indicating that Ha is rejected, there is no interaction between the ChatGPT-based project-based learning model and digital literacy in influencing the capacity to create news material. The results of this test provide an assumption that between the ChatGPT-based project-based learning model and digital literacy skills do not jointly influence the learning outcomes of the ability to write news texts. This means that it is necessary to consider various factors that influence student learning success, both in the context of digital literacy and psychological factors that play an important role in the development of news text writing skills. This study adds significantly to our understanding of the efficacy and ramifications of the ChatGPT-based project-based learning model. It also emphasizes the significance of a comprehensive strategy for fostering students' news text writing abilities.
