Abstract

This research examines the influence of visual comic media on student learning motivation based on different genders. The study applies visual comic media to investigate whether there are differences in learning motivation between male and female students. The activities were conducted at SD Negeri 1 Malaka, North Lombok Regency, involving a total of 45 students. The research utilized a pre-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test design within a single treatment group. The instrument used was a motivation questionnaire based on the ARCS model, covering aspects of attention, relevance, satisfaction, diligence, self-reliance, and self-confidence. The analysis results indicate significant differences in the attention and diligence aspects. Furthermore, female students showed higher motivation compared to male students. These findings indicate that demographic factors such as gender influence responses to learning media such as visual comics. This suggests a need to consider gender factors in the design of visual learning media to achieve maximum effectiveness in learning, particularly in enhancing student learning motivation.

Abstract

Way Umpu River, located in Way Kanan Regency, Lampung Province, is widely used by the local community and the waste products are ultimately disposed of into the river. This can cause a decrease in river water quality which can cause changes in the balance of the ecosystem, both biotic and abiotic. One of the organisms that can be used as a bioindicator is macrozoobenthos. This research aims to determine the diversity of macrozoobenthos as a bioindicator of water pollution quality. The method used was a survey method and sampling using Ekmen Grab at 6 sampling stations. Samples were taken 3 times in the left, middle and right bank areas of the river. Apart from that, water analysis was carried out in the form of physical parameters (temperature and TSS) and chemical parameters (pH, DO, COD, BOD). The data was then analyzed using the Diversity Index. The research results found 14 types of macrozoobenthos consisting of 5 phylum, namely Arthopoda, Mollusca, Porifera, Ciliophora, and Annelida. From the results of the analysis of the macrozoobenthos diversity index at station IV, it has a value of 0.56 ind/m2, which states that the location is heavily polluted. Physical and chemical factors show a significant correlation with macrozoobenthos diversity.

Abstract

The presence of earthworms in an ecosystem can improve soil quality through physical, chemical and biological properties. The activity of earthworms in producing feces also has an important role in increasing soil fertility. This research aims to analyze the production of earthworm feces and its relationship with the abundance of earthworms in natural and artificial ecosystems. Determining location points uses the Cluster Sampling method, namely natural and artificial ecosystems. Sampling of earthworms and their feces used the line transect method with a length of 100 meters and plots were created along the transect lines to observe the population and production of earthworm feces with 20 replicate plots at each location. Data analysis includes average feces weight, number of earthworm feces, and correlation analysis. Morphological data on earthworm droppings were analyzed descriptively. The results of this research show that in natural ecosystems there are 2 forms of earthworm feces, namely granular and globular types, whereas in artificial ecosystems there is only 1 form of earthworm feces, namely globular. Earthworm feces production is higher in natural ecosystems than in artificial ecosystems. The relationship between dung production (number of deposits and weight of dung deposits) of earthworms with the number and biomass of earthworms shows a significant relationship with a moderate correlation category (<1), while the relationship between earthworm density and worm biomass correlates significantly with a strong correlation category (1).

Abstract

The existence of agricultural land is indirectly related to the environment. The existence of agricultural land in terms of environmental aspects can provide five types of benefits, namely preventing flooding, controlling water balance, preventing erosion, and reducing environmental pollution from household waste. This research aims to analyze environmental changes in the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural activities in Palembang City. This research uses quantitative methods, analytical quantitative research is conducted to accept or reject hypotheses that are described by significance values. The research also used qualitative methods by conducting measured interviews with 250 respondents. The research was conducted in May 2023 in three sub-districts in Palembang City, namely Kalidoni, Kertapati, and Gandus sub-districts. The environmental indicators used as a reference include water quality, air quality, soil conditions, traffic conditions, runoff water conditions, plant conditions, and animal conditions. The results showed that the condition of plant environmental quality in the Gandus and Kalidoni sub-districts is classified as poor, while the Kertapati sub-district is in the good category. While the condition of the environmental quality of animal indicators in the Kertapati and Kalidoni sub-districts is in the good enough category, but in the Gandus sub-district it is in the bad category. Dragonfly populations will be high if the habitat conditions are very suitable. This means that there are still streams or puddles that are still clean and food is available. This clean water is the place for dragonfly eggs and images for further development. So if the dragonfly population at a location is still high, it means that the water conditions at that location are still not polluted.

Abstract

Orthohantavirus is an RNA virus that causes Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome (HFRS) and Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome (HPS). Humans can become infected with orthohantaviruses by inhaling virus particles from the urine, saliva, and feces of infective reservoir hosts. Small mammals from the orders Rodensia, Eulipotyphla, and Chiroptera are the main reservoirs of orthohantaviruses. This study aims to detect and calculate the incidence of orthohantavirus in reservoir hosts in Semarang City. The research was conducted descriptively analytically with a cross-sectional study design. The research population was all mice and shrews in the research location (Gayamsari and Tlogosari subdistricts), and the samples were caught mice and shrews (84). The research was carried out in May-September 2023. Orthohantavirus detection was carried out using the Nested PCR test (pre denaturation, denaturation, annealing and extension). A total of 84 individuals were captured, consisting of Rattus novergicus, Rattus tanezumi and Suncus murinus. Orthohantavirus in this study was successfully detected in Rattus norvegicus. The results of the study showed that the incidence of orthohantavirus in Gayamsari Village was (11.1%), Tlogosari Village (2.78%), and the overall total was (2.38%). It is necessary to control mice to prevent transmission of orthohantavirus.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to explore the implementation of the Independent Learning Curriculum (Kurikulum Merdeka Belajar) and the challenges faced by teachers during its implementation. This research adopts a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The subjects of the study are the School Principal and Biology teachers at SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan. Data collection involved observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was ensured through Technique Triangulation. The findings indicate that SMA Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan has implemented various aspects related to the Independent Learning Curriculum, one of which is the application of the Pancasila Student Profile through Project-Based Learning. Based on interviews, teachers encounter challenges in determining assessments that align with the intended learning objectives, especially in project-based learning scenarios. This confusion stems from the variety of assessment types such as presentations, projects, products, oral assessments, written assessments, and others. To address these issues, both the School Principal and teachers attend monthly training sessions as part of the Teacher Working Group (Kelompok Kerja Guru, KKG) to tackle problems and enhance teacher competence in teaching and learning activities.
