Abstract

This article discusses the importance and relevance of using edge components in biology education. During the educational process, students will be given a diagnostic survey to get acquainted with the rare plants of their region and determine the level of knowledge of the regional material by students of the Sarsen Amanzholov Higher College. The local history work contains data reflecting the natural, economic, social and cultural interrelation of the region under study. In addition, the most effective way of rational consideration of regional components in unity is to consider the scientific worldview of students, a holistic image of the environment, scientifically based environmental and socio-cultural attitudes, and a system of value-oriented relations.

Abstract

Sexual violence is a global issue that has increasingly garnered attention, with various evolving definitions, including the explanation by the World Health Organization (WHO) which states that sexual violence involves actions to obtain unwanted sexual behaviour, carried out through coercion or without the consent of the victim. In Indonesia, sexual violence was previously regulated in the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP), but with the development of time, Law No. 12 of 2022 concerning Sexual Violence Crimes (UU TPKS) was introduced to provide more protection for victims and more robust law enforcement. Furthermore, the application of restorative justice principles in handling Sexual Violence Crimes has begun to be considered, although this principle was initially focused on minor criminal acts. Restorative justice aims to restore relationships between the victim, offender, and society, but its application in sexual violence cases presents various challenges, including the potential to reduce the accountability of offenders and the risk of re-victimisation of the victims. This research employs a normative legal approach with analysis of the applicable regulations and the concept of H.L.A. Hart's legal positivism, which emphasises the importance of systematic law enforcement while still allowing space for flexibility, particularly in the application of restorative principles. Based on the analysis, the application of restorative justice in sexual violence cases in Indonesia needs to be carried out with great caution to ensure the protection of victims' rights and the accountability of offenders, without neglecting the importance of firm and effective law enforcement.

Abstract

Cultural Sufism, as an integral part of Indonesia's culture and spirituality, not only functions as a mystical practice but also plays a significant role in the social construction related to defense. This study aims to demonstrate the relationship between Sufism and the cultural values inherited from ancestors and how cultural Sufism can become a force in preserving the nation's identity and integrity amidst the currents of globalization and modernization. Using an interdisciplinary approach, this research analyzes cultural Sufism through the lens of the social construction of reality, focusing on the Nusantara version of Sufi teachings to strengthen the collective awareness that the cultural heritage of ancestors remains strategic in the contemporary era. The study reveals that cultural Sufism functions not only as a spiritual practice but also as a form of cultural defense that unites social values, traditions, and wisdom in confronting the challenges of the times. The findings offer new insights into how cultural Sufism can serve as one of the tools of defense against threats to diversity, national integrity, and the ideals of defending the nation.

Abstract

Pupils with intellectual disabilities often face challenges in achieving academic success, and low self-esteem may contribute to this struggle. While self-esteem is recognized as an important factor for academic achievement, its specific impact on pupils with intellectual disabilities remains underexplored. This study examined self-esteem as correlate of academic performance of pupils with intellectual disabilities in some schools in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. A purposive sampling technique was employed to select 22 pupils with intellectual disabilities in schools. Instrument for Data collection was a structured questionnaire titled Self-Esteem and Academic Performance of Pupils with Intellectual Disabilities (SEAPPID). Academic performance data were obtained from cumulative English language results. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson Product Moment Correlation (PPMC). Findings indicated that pupils with higher self-esteem performed better academically and were more engaged in their studies. Furthermore, while girls showed slightly better emotional control and focus, gender differences in academic performance were minimal. Based on these findings, it is recommended that teachers adopt strategies that actively promote self-esteem in both male and female pupils with intellectual disabilities. Parents should be encouraged to play a more active role in supporting their children’s self-esteem and academic growth by collaborating with teachers to strengthen learning outcomes. Promoting self-esteem is essential for improving academic performance and fostering resilience in pupils with intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

This study looks at how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can help make health information more accessible to everyone.  By using artificial intelligence, medical information can be made easier to understand and more available to everyone.  The study uses a literature review method.  It carefully chooses articles published from 2020 to 2024 from trusted academic databases like EBSCO, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest.  The articles were chosen based on how relevant they were and the latest developments in using AI for sharing health information.  The results show that AI can effectively translate complex medical words, offer personalized health information, and overcome language barriers using advanced language technology.  Also, AI can help disadvantaged communities by making it easier for them to get health information and by reducing the spread of false information using fact-checking programs.  The study highlights how important interactive AI tools are for getting users involved and shows how these tools can be used for data-driven public health projects.  This study shows that AI can play a big role in creating a fairer and better-informed society.  In conclusion, the study highlights how important it is to think about ethics and to share fair and accurate information.
