Abstract

Safe infrastructure development requires a strong foundation to distribute the building load to the ground below. The study of soil behavior under load is very important in geotechnical engineering. This research aims to compare soil stress calculations using the Boussinesq and UNStrain theories and compare the settlement values at foundation corners in the immediate settlement calculations using the Steinbrenner and UNStrain methods. UNStrain is an application that uses the finite element method to calculate soil deformation and stress. However, it still requires validation because this program is still in the development stage and requires testing for accuracy. The accuracy of UNStrain application calculations was validated using empirical methods by comparing soil stress values with the Boussinesq theory. The research was carried out in the case of a flexible foundation with an evenly distributed load in longitudinal strips of 90 kN/m on sandy soil. RMSE shows a value of 2.90 kN/m² for vertical stress and 2.64 kN/m² for horizontal stress, while MAPE for vertical stress is 2.94% and horizontal stress is 5.79%, which shows that it is accurate in comparison to UNStrain soil stress calculations towards Boussinesq's theory. Calculation of the settlement at the corner of the foundation with the immediate Steinbrenner settlement produces a value of 0.40 cm and UNStrain produces a value of 0.79 cm.

Abstract

In Indonesia, particularly in regions such as Java Island, natural disasters like earthquakes occur frequently. Therefore, it is crucial to construct earthquake-resistant buildings with life safety performance. This means that although buildings may suffer damage, they should not collapse completely, allowing sufficient time for evacuation. In many projects in Indonesia, reinforced concrete structures and steel structures are commonly used. The aim of this study is to determine the differences in base shear forces and displacements between reinforced concrete structures and steel structures when subjected to seismic forces. To conduct this research, the author utilized data processing methods from structural modeling results using SAP2000 V14 software. The modeling results show that reinforced concrete structures have higher base shear forces than steel structures but have lower displacements. These values are directly influenced by the inherent properties of each structure. Reinforced concrete structures have greater weight and stiffness compared to steel structures, while steel structures are lighter in weight and more flexible.

Abstract

Public spaces are a crucial component of any settlement, serving as facilities for social activities among residents, balancing the ecosystem, and enhancing the environmental aesthetics. However, their presence is often neglected, especially in densely populated areas such as riverbanks. This research focuses on planning public spaces in Kampung Pedak Karangbendo, located along the Gajah Wong River in Yogyakarta, which is known as a slum area. According to Regent’s Decree No. 193 of 2021, Kampung Pedak Karangbendo faces various issues such as irregular and dense buildings, as well as a lack of basic facilities. As part of the Kotaku Program implemented by the Bantul Regency Public Works and Housing Agency, a master plan and detailed engineering design (DED) have been prepared to address these settlement issues. However, the plan has not yet included adequate public space provision. This study aims to plan public spaces based on the preferences of the local community, with the hope of creating comfortable and functional spaces for various age groups. The results of this research are expected to provide guidance for planners and policymakers in developing more inclusive and sustainable public spaces along the Gajah Wong River, thereby improving the quality of life and social interactions of the local community

Abstract

This research aims to present a comprehensive overview of the distribution of rock layers and inform the presence of rock layers that function as aquifers (water-carrying layers) in the Wolonmaget Village area, Wolonmaget Sub-district, Alok Barat District, Sikka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, using the method of geolectric. This research type is field research (in situ test) and uses quantitative data by directly collecting data or test samples in the field at 3 (three) observation points: GL1, GL2, and GL3. This study result show that the area being investigated through geoelectric estimation has provided a description of the rock layer conditions, both vertically and laterally. The hydrological conditions in the study area are included in a local productive aquifer system with rocks that are expected to act as aquifers, specifically Tuff Sand. Based on the geoelectric investigation, the aquifer layers identified are: GL.01 at a depth of 73.66-200.000 meters with a thickness of 138.36 meters; GL.02 at a depth of 61.64-200.000 meters with a thickness of 138.36 meters; GL.03 at a depth of 61.22-2000 meters with a thickness of 138.78 meters.

Abstract

Trains are a mode of land transportation that has special characteristics and advantages, especially in its ability to transport both passengers and goods in bulk, save energy, save space, save fuel and have a high safety factor and low pollution levels and more. efficient for long distance transportation and in city transportation. Railway transportation that serves public transportation must be safe in its operation. There is subsidence on the railway line between Muaraenim Station - Muaralawai Station. So improvements need to be made to support the smooth running of goods transportation services, especially coal in the Southern Sumatra Region. The aim of this research is to look at slope stability on the Muaraenim - Muaralawai KM.398 + 1/2 railway line using Plaxis 2D software version 22.1.0.452. In implementing the Plaxis 2D program, the Mohr-Coulomb model is used for soil. Data from the Bore Log is considered undrained, which means water cannot flow and soil permeability is considered low. Backfill soil is also treated as undrained, while Limestone uses an undrained type with low soil permeability. The soil condition is considered drained, and Limestone uses the drained type. The results of evaluating slope stability in areas experiencing land subsidence were obtained using Plaxis 0.04 cm software with a safety factor of FS 2.738. The analysis was carried out under original conditions without load.

Abstract

In the current era of technological development, the need for concrete has increased quite significantly in infrastructure development, because concrete itself is the main component of a structure. Exploitation in extracting materials from nature has resulted in a reduction in green land and problems regarding people's awareness of the waste found around them. So there is a need for ideas or innovations to reduce or even end this problem. The use of alternative aggregates can reduce natural damage caused by taking and dredging natural stone. In addition, the use of alternative aggregates can reduce construction costs. The aim of this research is to use Granite Marble Waste as a substitute for Coarse Aggregate and Shell and Egg Shell Waste as a cement substitute in Environmentally Friendly Concrete Innovations. In this research the author used an experimental method. The results of concrete compressive strength testing for normal concrete, the average compressive strength for an estimated age of 28 days is 366.11 kg/cm2, while for Innovation Concrete the average compressive strength at an estimated age of 28 days is 376.54 kg/cm2. The budget plan for conventional concrete is more expensive than innovative concrete. Conventional concrete costs Rp. 2,783,600 while innovation concrete costs Rp. 2,391,500, so it can be concluded that innovative concrete is more economical than conventional concrete with a difference of Rp. 392,100, which means that environmentally friendly innovative concrete is 14.09% cheaper and more economical than conventional concrete.

Abstract

At the intersection of Jalan Antang - Jalan Rajawali, Palangka Raya City, it is an unsignalized intersection with four arms. At the location of Jalan Antang - Jalan Rajawali, Palangka Raya city, it is an area or area that is quite frequently passed by office workers, especially students and various groups of society. In this intersection area there are quite a lot of shops and it is also close to the Palangka Raya 3 Public Middle School, this condition is one of the factors that might cause delays and queues when passing through this intersection. The aim of this research is to analyze the performance of unsignalized intersections, as well as providing solutions or handling suggestions to improve the performance of the unsignalized intersections on Jalan Antang - Jalan Rajawali. Data collection was carried out over 4 days, namely Tuesday 4 June 2024, Wednesday 5 June 2024, Thursday 6 June 2024, and Monday 10 June 2024. The data collected was intersection geometry data and traffic volume data. The data analysis method uses the 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines. The research results show that the highest peak hour traffic volume at the Jalan Antang - Jalan Rajawali intersection occurred on Tuesday, June 4 2024, in the morning period at 06.30-07.30 WIT with a traffic volume of 2874.6 pcu/hour. Where the capacity value (C) of the intersection is 3332 pcu/hour, the degree of saturation (DJ) is 0.862, the intersection delay is 14.748 seconds/pcu, and the queuing opportunity (Pa) is 29.845 – 58.956%. The intersection delay (T) of 14,748 is in the range of 5.1 – 15 so it is included in the service level category B. Based on the calculation results of solutions or handling proposals, namely the widening of major and minor roads has a degree of saturation with a value of 0.837, this has met the limit value set by The 2023 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines are the DJ value not exceeding 0.85 and the intersection service level index is category B.

Abstract

In a pipe network system, the design of the intake building plays an important role in determining the efficiency of water flow and distribution. Suboptimal designs can cause significant Pressure Losses, uneven flow distribution, and potential damage to infrastructure. This research aims to simulate and analyze the effect of design changes in the Jragung Dam intake building in Semarang Regency on its hydraulic performance. The Jragung Dam is one of the important infrastructures that supports water resource management in the region. In this research, WaterCad hydraulic simulation software was used to model water flow and hydraulic behavior in intake buildings. Hydraulic modeling based on current topographic, hydrological and engineering data of intake structures. Design changes are simulated to evaluate the differences in terms of flow capacity, pressure, and structural stability. The simulation results are then compared with the performance of the initial design with the design due to changes in the reservoir. The results of the research show that there is a change in the position of the reservoir with the minimum water level of the reservoir remaining at an elevation of +93,00, the outlet pressure for the raw water transmission pipe decreases to 1.97 mH2O, while the pressure in the other channels shows relatively small changes with a value of 33.48 respectively. mH2O, 11.34 mH2O, and 34.05 mH2O. These results indicate that the water pressure in the raw water transmission pipe is below the required standard (0.5-8 atm). To overcome energy losses in the raw water transmission line so that water can flow by gravity, the pipe diameter was changed from 900 mm to 1100 mm along 3,469 m. This modification produces an outlet pressure of 10.20 mH2O at the reservoir's minimum water level.

Abstract

The construction of Masjid Haya was carried out to complement public facilities in Kalurahan Bohol, Rongkop, Gunungkidul. The construction was carried out through mutual cooperation. In the context of public buildings, collaboration and community cooperation become determining factors for the success of the project. Community participation and effective management are two mutually supportive factors in the effort to build high-quality and sustainable public facilities. This research aims to determine the efficiency of the budget for public facility construction in the implementation of development with community participation. The method used is quantitative analysis and field interviews to determine category grouping. Interviews were conducted to delve into information regarding the cost needs for development and community involvement. The results of the calculation analysis show: first, the percentage of the budgetary needs for materials/raw materials if the work involves a jointly owned building from the two groups is 3,35%; second, the percentage of the budgetary needs for third parties is 34,173% of the total; third, the percentage of the budget carried out through mutual cooperation from the overall budget is 8,341%. Work that does not require skill can be carried out through mutual cooperation if the work involves a jointly owned building, as it can reduce the budget cost by 10.564%. This third party consists of workers who have expertise in their respective fields and are capable of carrying out the work well and efficiently. The analysis results show that the labor cost ranges from 30% to 40%, depending on the difficulty of the work in the field. The percentage of the material budget contributed by the local community for the construction is 3,35%.

Abstract

Kondisi jalan yang terbebani oleh volume lalu lintas yang tinggi dan berulang-ulang akan menyebabkan terjadinya kerusakan pada jalan sebagaimana indikatornya dapat diketahui dari kondisi permukaan jalan, baik kondisi struktural maupun fungsionalnya yang mengalami kerusakan dan dibutuhkan suatu metode untuk melakukan analisa pada jalan yang mengalami kerusakan. Metode yang di gunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode PCI. Metode PCI (Pavement Condition Index) digunakan untuk menilai suatu kondisi jalan. Proses menghitung PCI memerlukan pembacaan grafik dan tabel referensi yang jumlahnya cukup banyak yang apabila dilakukan secara manual cenderung tidak efisien/lama, sehingga diperlukan program untuk melakukan proses perhitungan PCI agar lebih cepat, yaitu dengan pembuatan aplikasi android untuk merangkaikan langkah langkah proses menghitung PCI dengan  bahasa  pemrograman  Java dan XML. Alur tahapan penelitian dilakukan mulai dari melakukan studi literature secara online maupun offline, analisa kebutuhan, desain sistem, pemrograman sistem, testing, evaluasi, dan penulisan laporan. Perancangan bahasa pemrograman akan menghasilkan aplikasi Dengan Interface yang telah di desain dengan sederhana sehingga proses perhitungan nlai PCI dapat dilakukan dengan mudah dan cepat.
