Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the Principal's Strategy in improving teacher professionalism at SMP Negeri 1 Hamparan Perak, Deli Serdang Regency, the Principal's leadership role that can improve teacher professionalism at SMP Negeri 1 Hamparan Perak and what obstacles the Principal faces in improving teacher professionalism at SMP Negeri 1 Hamparan Perak. This research method is qualitative research with a description approach. Data collection is done by documentation, observation and interviews. Data analysis techniques use data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of the research and conclusions are (1). Good principal leadership will produce a good school community performance which will certainly affect the quality of education. (2). The role of the principal of SMPN 1 Hamparan Perak to improve teacher professionalism is very large. (3). The obstacles that occur in the leadership of the principal of SMPN 1 Hamparan Perak to improve teacher professionalism are the lack of time for the principal to monitor activities, then teachers who do not understand the syntax of innovative learning models and learning facilities that are still incomplete.

Abstract

The contemporary progress of the world has ushered in the era of the industrial revolution, where human existence revolves around information. Consequently, preparing graduates with high competence, capable of global competition, and adept at mastering technological advancements is imperative for individuals and the future of a nation. In the epoch of globalization, the global initiative for the school literacy movement aims to metamorphose educational institutions into literate learning hubs. Primary educational establishments, particularly elementary schools, play a pivotal role in shaping a generation poised to confront myriad challenges. Hence, fostering a novel digital culture is paramount in the modern educational landscape, facilitating the construction of a stronger national identity and readiness for the 21st-century global education era. This article aims to explore the avenues for cultivating students' personalities as lifelong learners through digital literacy, equipping them to navigate the nuances of 21st-century education and thrive in the globalized learning landscape. Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, this study elucidates phenomena in the contemporary environment, gathering data through observations, interviews, and document analysis.

Abstract

Integrated learning is a learning process that combines various subjects in an effort to achieve desired competencies. The Integrated Learning curriculum is designed using an interdisciplinary approach by combining several fields of study. This study aims to understand and explain integrated learning with an integrated model at Imam Asy Syafii Islamic Junior High School in Metro City. The curriculum at Imam Asy Syafii Islamic Junior High School integrates three types of curricula, namely the Pure Arabic Language Curriculum (Silsilah li ta’lim Lughoh al Arabiyah), which is an Arabic language curriculum adopted from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University, Islamic Religious Education/Pondok Pesantren Special Diniyah Education, and the National Curriculum of the Education Department. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with data collection techniques using interviews, observations, and documentation. From the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that: (1) Imam Asy Syafii Islamic Junior High School has implemented an Integrated Curriculum model by integrating several types of curricula to achieve competencies, namely Arabic language proficiency and knowledge of Islamic religion typical of pondok pesantren and general education. (2) Imam Asy Syafii Islamic Junior High School implements a boarding system. (3) Supporting and inhibiting factors for curriculum integration are divided into two, namely internal factors originating from within Imam Asy Syafii Islamic Junior High School and external factors from outside Imam Asy Syafii Islamic Junior High School.

Abstract

Organizational commitment plays a crucial role as highly committed individuals are expected to have the skills to manage internal emotions, especially when facing potential problems. Factors such as personal values, self-confidence, intrinsic motivation, personality, job satisfaction, and emotional intelligence can influence the level of organizational commitment, including employee commitment. The objectives of this study are as follows: 1) Investigating the impact of self-leadership on the emotional intelligence of public junior high school teachers in Bengkulu City. 2) Examining the effect of emotional intelligence on the organizational commitment of public junior high school teachers in Bengkulu City. 3) Examine the effect of self-leadership through the mediation of emotional intelligence on organizational commitment in public junior high school teachers in Bengkulu City. The conclusions of this study are as follows: 1) There is a significant influence between self-leadership on emotional intelligence. 2) There is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational commitment. 3) There is a significant influence between self-leadership on organizational commitment with the mediation of emotional intelligence.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka policy in higher education presents new challenges, where students can explore learning beyond their study programs. Lecturers need to prepare teaching materials, such as textbooks, to assist students in enhancing their critical thinking skills. This study aims to develop a problem-based learning-based textbook for the ISBD course. The development method utilizes the ADDIE model, with data collection through questionnaires. Validation results indicate that this textbook received positive ratings from content experts (78.57%), media experts (77.14%), and instructional design experts (77.78%). Trials with lecturers and students showed good quality. The results affirm that the Problem-Based Learning-based ISBD textbook developed is suitable for use in the Geography Education Program at Pattimura University.

Abstract

The low level of education in Indonesia can be caused by the low level of educational human resources in Indonesia, namely educators or teachers who do not have professionalism in carrying out their duties. Academic supervision is one way that can be taken to improve the quality of education through career development or professionalism of a teacher. Academic supervision leads to improving educational problems by guiding, supervising, mentoring and directing teachers to become professional in their field to improve education and fix problems in education. Academic supervision helps teachers make plans in the learning process so as to produce the desired output in learning. The aim of writing this article is to examine academic supervision in increasing teacher professionalism. This type of article writing method uses a qualitative method with descriptive analysis. Based on research studies, several results were obtained that academic supervision consists of two parts, namely individual supervision and group supervision.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the leadership style of the principal of SMP Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru and the empowerment carried out by the principal of SMP Negeri1 Kutalimbaru. This research uses a qualitative approach method. The data collection technique of this research is through observation, interview, documentation and questionnaire. The results showed that the principal of SMP Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru applied democratic leadership in carrying out his duties, the principal made his subordinates a team to work together in running school programmes. The principal always supports teachers to attend trainings to improve their knowledge and skills, the principal openly accepts ideas and input from subordinates. The principal gives freedom to teachers in designing appropriate learning methods, encourages teachers to share ideas and good practices such as the driving teacher in the school sharing the good practices they have obtained with teachers in SMP Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru. Teachers who have been empowered by the principal feel valued and feel more enthusiastic about attending training that will increase their knowledge and skills in learning, thus motivating students to be more active in classroom learning.

Abstract

The alteration of Training Center to Higher Education can be a driving factor in improving the service quality in Poltekpel Banten considering Poltekpel Banten is a new college competing with other existing nautical polytechnics. Especially with the support of Human Resources Development Agency in giving additional quota for student admission each year. The credibility of Poltekpel Banten is reflected through the service quality, customer satisfaction and customer loyalty. This study is conducted in Poltekpel Banten from January to June 2022 using quantitative approach with survey method. The data is analyzed with SEM AMOS and processed in deductive manner. The variables studied are service quality, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty. The sample in this study 224 student candidates from all the student candidates of Poltekpel Banten during July to December 2022. The data is collected using questionnaire. From the four hypotheses tested in this study, two of them are giving significant results and the other two is not significant.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menggali tentang manajemen kualitas pendidikan Islam unggul dalam program tahfidz al-Qur'an menggunakan metode Ummi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan fokus pada SD Qur'an Utrujah Pamekasan. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan program tahfidz al-Qur'an dengan penerapan metode Ummi. Metode Ummi merupakan cara belajar Al-Qur'an yang menekankan kemudahan dan kenyamanan dalam menghafal, dengan pendekatan yang sistematis dan terstruktur. Program ini dirancang dengan baik untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pendidikan agama yang mendalam serta menyenangkan bagi peserta didik. Strategi manajemen untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan yang dapat digunakan oleh guru adalah strategi POAC (Perencanaan, Pengorganisasian, Pelaksanaan, Pengendalian). Dalam penerapannya, guru mengikuti sepuluh pilar Ummi Foundation. Setiap pilar memiliki peran penting dalam memastikan kualitas dan efektivitas program tahfidz, termasuk manajemen yang baik, sertifikasi guru, proses pembelajaran yang tepat, target yang jelas, pembelajaran yang konsisten, alokasi waktu yang memadai, rasio guru dan siswa yang seimbang, pengendalian internal dan eksternal, laporan perkembangan siswa, serta koordinator yang handal.

Abstract

Bangsal Sinau tutoring institution is one of the basic Arabic language tutoring programs. Learning is carried out offline and online. This research aims to describe the program management process based on management principles. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative case study type. The theory used is the principle of management according to Henry Fayol which consists of the principles of division of tasks, discipline, unity of direction, and initiative. Data collection techniques were observation, interview, and documentation. The main data source is Bangsal Sinau tutoring center. The results show that Bangsal Sinau tutoring center applies the principle of division of labor in the form of grouping teachers according to their language skills. The principle of discipline is interpreted by teachers who are never late for teaching both online and offline, and managers who always remind teachers through WhatsApp groups. The principle of unity of direction is in the form of determining the teaching model, namely group discussions, and using the same teaching materials. The principle of initiative is applied to the innovation of creating a new Instagram account that was released in early 2023, namely @bangsal.sinau, as well as the innovation of the process of making personalized teaching modules that suit student needs. The application of these principles makes this program maintain its quality and continues to exist in demand by students.
