Abstract

This study investigates of EFL teacher practices using flipped classroom and Think-Pair Share (TPS) strategy in reading comprehension classes. The purpose of this study is to find the challenges and opportunities encountered by EFL teacher while utilizing this learning model. This investigation applied a qualitative methodology with a case study design. This study's participant was an EFL teacher who taught at a private junior high school in Bekasi, West Java. The researcher used observation, interviews, and documentation to collect the data. By employing thematic analysis by Braun & Clarke (2006), the data is analyzed. The research findings indicate that flipped classroom and TPS serve a meaningful learning task that facilitates text comprehension among students. In addition, the use of flipped classrooms and TPS incorporates challenges and opportunities. This study encounters practical difficulties and school policies as obstacles. In addition, there are opportunities to exercise student-centered learning, assist students with learning readiness, and improve students' reading comprehension

Abstract

PT Semen Padang is the first cement factory in Indonesia which is located in Indarung, Padang, West Sumatra Province. The raw materials in the cement manufacturing process at PT Semen Padang use four main raw materials, namely, limestone, silica, clay and iron sand and additional raw materials such as gypsum and pozzolan. In general, the process of making cement at PT Semen Padang is divided into 5 stages, namely: the raw material supply and preparation stage, the raw material grinding stage (raw mix formation), the clinker formation stage (raw mix burning) the clinker grinding stage (cement manufacture) and the cement manufacturing stage. cement bagging. The total cement production capacity at PT Semen Padang from Indarung 1 to VI is 10,070,000 tons/year. PT Semen Padang's market share for marketing Portland Cement Type 1, Super Mansory Cement (SMC) and Portland Pozzolan Cement (PCC) products, namely in all provinces on the island of Sumatra, DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, West Kalimantan and South Kalimantan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of customer need, cost, convenience, and communication on the decision to use Maxim transportation services in the city of Bandung by using quantitative methods and verification descriptive analysis. Sampling used the Nonprobability Sampling method with purposive sampling which resulted in a total sample of 365 respondents. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis and hypothesis testing using the t test and f test using the SPSS 29 tool. The results show that there is a partial influence between customer need, convenience and communication on usage decisions but cost does not partially affect the decision use. Meanwhile, simultaneously, all variables have an influence on the decision to use Maxim in the city of Bandung.

Abstract

A very poor understanding of mathematics is the driving force behind this research. It is far from the expectations of the achievement of the mathematics learning process, based on the results of the observation of the learning of mathematics in class V. This is because at the time of taking the initial datathat obtained a valueof <75 as much as 100% of all students, two of them obtained a value of 60. Problem Based Learning is a model which, when used as a medium for students to think critically and be skilled at solving problems in order to understand them, contains the characteristics of problem based learning. This study is intended to investigate whether using a model of problem based learning referred to as PBL, students' knowledge of mathematics increases and influences.The experimental research, involving the design of a nonequivalent control group, is based on this research. Where are the 5th grade students as the population in this study, so that two classes are given different treatment as a sample with a random sampling selection technique. Based on the N-Gain value in the experimental class and the control class each get a maximum value of 99 and 90 while the minimum value is 64 and 38 with an average of 79.04 for the experimental class and the control class gets 62.15 where the value indicates the level of data spread to the average value of the data is 9.667 in the acquisition of the deviation value in the experimental class and 11.299 in the control class. It is included in the Effective category with a minimum NGF of at least 64% and a maximum NGF of at least 99%, based on the results of the calculation of the NGF test on the data, which shows an average NGF of 79.04% for the class receiving special treatment. In addition, the average NGain which is defined as a sufficient category of 62.15% while the minimum and maximum gains in this control class were 38% and 90% respectively are set out below.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of the Nature Learning model in the ability to write poetry texts in class VIII students at MTsN 4 Karawang. In this learning context, students need to understand the elements involved in composing poetry. This research attempts to apply the Nature Learning learning model in learning to write poetry for Grade VIII students at MTsN 4 Karawang. This research method is a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. The population of this study were all students of class VIII at MTsN 4 Karawang, and the sample was selected using a random sampling method, with two classes selected: class VIII A as the control group and class VIII C as the experimental group. Data was collected through a poetry writing test. The validity of the instrument was tested using construct validity by consulting experts and trials on students who had studied pantun material at Rengasdengklok 2 Public Middle School. Data were analyzed using the t-test with a significance level of 5%, after ensuring that the data prerequisites were met (normality test, homogeneity test, and N-gain test using SPSS version 26). The results of data analysis showed that both groups had normal data distribution (significance value > 0.05) and data homogeneity (values > 0.05 for pretext and posttest homogeneity). This study found a significant difference between the control and experimental groups with a significance level of 0.001 <0.05. The Nature Learning learning model has an average N-gain value of 56.17%, indicating a sufficient level of effectiveness in learning to write poetry. The final results of this study indicate that the application of the Nature Learning learning model has a significant difference from the application of conventional models.

Abstract

The independent curriculum has broad dimensions. This curriculum addresses various aspects. Pancasila, as the basis of the Indonesian state, has many values that can be taken as a forum for future curriculum development. This study uses a qualitative method. The stages consist of data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusions and evaluation. Respondents consisted of teachers, school principals and junior high school students. The results of the research show that the role of akhlakul karimah is an integral part that must be achieved by students. Independent curriculum is one way to develop student behavior.

Abstract

The main problem with Indonesian education today is the low quality of education, whereas to maintain the quality of education, quality control is needed to monitor the process and all school supporting components. TQM (Total Quality Management) is a management approach for an organization that is centered on quality and relies on the participation of all its members. TQM aims for long-term success through customer satisfaction and benefits to all members of the organization and society as a whole. The aim of this research is to determine and assess the role of the principal, the role of teachers, and the role of administration in improving the quality of education at Bani Saleh 2 Middle School. This school is a junior high school in Bekasi City, West Java. This school has achieved many achievements in the non-academic field, namely Tapak Suci pencak silat. In this research, we used qualitative methods involving interviews and a one-day field survey. The results of our observations and interviews with the Principal, Teachers and Administrators of Bani Saleh 2 Middle School show that all the workers there have good quality competencies in carrying out their respective job responsibilities. Students at Bani Saleh 2 Middle School have shown that this school has quality seen through its teachers and educational staff. The quality of teachers and educational personnel will produce students who have various kinds of achievements. Most of the achievements at this school come from non-academic fields, so this makes students more motivated to continue their enthusiasm for achieving achievements in the academic field..

Abstract

The research was motivated by the development of news in online media that can be utilized as alternative reading. The objectives of this research include: (1) to describe the structure of travelogue features in Detik.com, (2) to describe the language of travelogue features in Detik.com, and (3) to compile the results of the analysis of the structure and language of travelogue features in Detik.com as e-modules of soft news texts and recommend them to students of grade VII in junior high school. This research uses qualitative descriptive method. The subject of this research is travelogue features in Detik.com, specifically 16 travelogue features to West Java tourist attractions from the travel section of DetikJabar in the March 2022-2023 edition. The objects of this research include: (1) the structure of travelogue features; and (2) the language of travelogue features. Data collection techniques, namely documentation with listening and recording techniques. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the sixteen travel features in Detik.com fulfill the completeness of the structure with the title, intro, body, and closing arranged systematically. As for the sixteen travel features in Detik.com, the linguistic characteristics are informal, interesting, simple, brief, and use active sentences. Thus, it can be concluded that the structure and language of travel features in Detik.com are in accordance with the rules of feature writing. The results of the analysis are then compiled as e-modules of light news texts and recommended to seventh grade students.

Abstract

This study discusses the comparison of news strategies related to Bjorka in bilingual news on online news media, namely Tempo.co, Viva.co.id, Liputan6.com, Antaranews.com, and Indonesiawindow.com, which are translated from Indonesian as the source language into English as the target language. This study aims to see whether there are differences in the application of van Leuween's theoretical model of exclusion and inclusion in Indonesian and English news. Van Leuween's theory is used in critical discourse analysis to see how actors are portrayed in the news. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a linguistic corpus analysis approach to obtain a parallel corpus, so that the news in both languages can be compared in parallel. The results of this study found exclusion and inclusion strategies in the texts of both languages, as well as some changes in reporting strategies caused by the translation process from Indonesian news to English news.
