Abstract

The low level of self-acceptance in hemodialysis patients with kidney failure indicates the complexity of internal factors (such as emotional intelligence) and external factors (such as family support) that may influence the psychological quality of life of patients. The purpose of this study is to experimentally determine how family support and emotional intelligence affect self-acceptance in kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. Using multiple linear regression analysis, this study sampled 100 kidney failure hemodialysis patients. The findings of the study suggest that emotional intelligence and family support play a significant role in the self-acceptance of kidney failure hemodialysis patients. Kidney failure patients may feel better about themselves during hemodialysis sessions by improving their emotional abilities and receiving greater family support.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop fire management strategies at Hospital X in Batam City, Riau Islands. The research design to be used in this study is a qualitative method. Data indicates that Hospital X has an emergency response team; however, the number of certified employees is still below the standards set by the regulations. Although Hospital X conducts evacuation simulations and fire training annually, there are several shortcomings in the evacuation routes, including inappropriate handrail height and unpainted emergency exit doors. The evaluation also found that, despite the availability of fire-fighting facilities such as fire extinguishers and detectors, regular inspections are not conducted uniformly. The distance between fire extinguishers exceeds the stipulated 15 meters, which could increase the risk of fire. Based on these findings, it is recommended that the Occupational Health and Safety Team take corrective actions to ensure compliance with existing regulations, including enhancing employee certification and updating evacuation facilities. By implementing these recommendations, it is expected that Hospital X can improve disaster resilience, ensure the safety of patients and staff, and be prepared for future emergencies.

Abstract

Stunting is a chronic nutritional issue threatening future generations, significantly influenced by early marriage practices. In East Java, Indonesia, early marriage has become a pressing concern, with a 10.44% increase in 2022, exceeding the national average. The region reported the highest number of early marriage dispensation requests in Indonesia, totaling 15,337 cases, or 29.4% of the national total. In the Madurese community, early marriage is often viewed as a customary practice, driven by unintended pregnancies and parental pressure. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of psychoeducation regarding stunting and early marriage culture in promoting stunting prevention behaviors among adolescent girls. A mixed-method approach was employed, using a quasi-experimental design with pre- and post-test groups, focusing on female adolescents aged 14-21 at the Wonoayu community health center. The independent variables include psychoeducation on stunting and early marriage culture, while the dependent variable is stunting prevention behavior. Data were collected using questionnaires for the quantitative aspect and in-depth interviews for the qualitative component. Results indicate significant improvements in stunting prevention behavior scores post-intervention. Psychoeducation effectively enhances knowledge about stunting's causes and preventive measures, enabling adolescents to take proactive steps. Furthermore, it fosters positive attitudes toward nutrition and reproductive health, encouraging healthier habits among participants.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between antenatal care history and parenting patterns in toddlers with the incidence of stunting in the Wonoayu Health Center area, Sidoarjo. Through a quantitative research design with a cross-sectional approach, data were collected from 120 mothers who have toddlers, using questionnaires and observation sheets. The results of the analysis showed a significant relationship between antenatal care history and parenting patterns with the incidence of stunting. Statistical tests with logistic regression showed that improvements in antenatal care and parenting patterns can reduce the risk of stunting in toddlers. This study provides important insights into the importance of early intervention and education for mothers to improve child health and prevent stunting in the community. Thus, recommendations to strengthen maternal and child health programs, as well as increase public awareness of good parenting patterns, are needed to support optimal growth and development of toddlers.

Abstract

Occupational Skin Diseases (OSDs) represent a significant global health issue. This study aims to analyze OSD research trends from 2014 to 2023 through a comprehensive bibliometric analysis. The search was carried out in the Scopus database using keywords: "occupational skin disease" OR "work-related skin disease" OR "occupational dermatosis". A total of 491 documents were analyzed using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny. The results show an increase in publications with a peak in 2021, dominated by developed countries such as Germany and the United States, but the contribution of developing countries is starting to be seen. The focus of research shifted from classic contact dermatitis to the issue of COVID-19 and the use of personal protective equipment. The University of Osnabrück and the journal Contact Dermatitis are the main contributors. The analysis uncovered gaps in longitudinal research, insufficient research on the informal sector, and limited interventions in developing countries. Future research is suggested to focus on innovative prevention strategies, climate change impacts, and the utilization of new technologies, with an emphasis on international collaboration. This study highlights the importance of OSD research's adaptation to new challenges in the workplace and the need for a more inclusive global approach.
