Abstract

People with disabilities still do not receive optimal services overall. People with disabilities need to receive space for justice and prosperity from their families and society. This research aims to analyze and explore the justice received by people with disabilities in Bah Sulung Village through the disability inclusive village program. The disability inclusive village program is an effort by the church and community by establishing an RBM (Community Based Rehabilitation) Post in Bah Sulung Village. Data analysis was carried out descriptively qualitatively. In collecting data, the author conducted observations and interviews as well as literature studies in Bah Sulung Village to investigate the fulfillment of rights and equality obtained by people with disabilities. The informants consisted of RBM post administrators, RBM cadres, families of people with disabilities and several communities in Bah Sulung Village, Simalungun. The research results show that people with disabilities and their families gain acceptance and equality through the empowerment of RBM posts. The author uses John Rawls's perspective on justice theory as a basis for analyzing justice issues for people with disabilities in fulfilling equality and rights.

Abstract

Inclusive education is a new perception in the field of education in Indonesia in providing educational services for all students, including children with special needs. Several elementary schools already have educational equality for children with special needs to place them with regular children who are accompanied by special assistant teachers. The purpose of the study was to explain the role of teachers as an effort to develop the participation of children with special needs, especially autistic children in the learning process in regular classes. Qualitative methods were used with a case study design, which aims to understand social phenomena descriptively. Data collection was carried out by direct observation of learning and interviews with homeroom teachers and special assistant teachers for autistic children. The results of the study explained that every child with special needs in a regular class is supervised by a designated assistant teacher. In the context of inclusive schools, assistant teachers play a role in adjusting lessons in class according to the needs of inclusive children, as well as providing assessments based on the child's abilities. Other efforts made include holding competitions with children with special needs as participants, to increase their participation. Therefore, support from the government, educational institutions, and the wider community is needed to achieve the goals of inclusive education. Keywords: Autistic Children, Student Participation, Learning

Abstract

This study is a systematic literature review that aims to identify innovative forms of curriculum management to support inclusive education for learners with special needs. Based on a literature review of ten articles published between 2018 and 2023, this research classifies inclusive curriculum management into four main categories: curriculum planning, curriculum organization, curriculum implementation and curriculum evaluation. Each category offers management strategies that can be adapted to create a learning environment that supports and embraces student diversity. The planning process includes modifying the curriculum to accommodate students' specific needs, while organizing focuses on collaboration among staff and effective utilization of resources. Implementation involves adaptive teaching methods that match students' individual abilities, and evaluation aims to assess success and make continuous improvements to the curriculum. The findings provide practical guidance for educational institutions in developing a more inclusive curriculum, which not only improves access to education but also quality and equity in learning.
