Abstract

This study aims to analyze pre-disaster management of the Mount Sinabung eruption in Kutagugung Village, Naman Teran District, Karo Regency. The focus of the research includes government and community preparedness, the effectiveness of early warning systems, and mitigation programs in raising community awareness of disaster risks. The study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation. The results show that community awareness of Mount Sinabung's status as an active volcano varies, with most understanding the risks but requiring further education. Disaster management organizations, such as BNPB and Karang Taruna, have been active, although broader community involvement needs improvement. Disaster mitigation training is considered effective in enhancing preparedness, but its scope remains limited to specific groups. The local tradition Erpangir Ku Lau holds significant potential for integration into mitigation strategies, although it has not yet been optimally utilized. Disaster management infrastructure, such as evacuation routes, assembly points, and shelters, is available but requires quality improvements and sustainable maintenance. Existing early warning systems are helpful but need modernization and expanded coverage. This study concludes that collaboration between the government, the community, and the utilization of local wisdom is key to enhancing the resilience of Kutagugung Village in facing the risks of the Mount Sinabung eruption.

Abstract

This research examines the implementation of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in the employee training and recruitment process at Dicoding Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness, challenges, and opportunities of using AR in improving training interactivity and supporting the recruitment process of digital talents. The approach used was qualitative with a case study method. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and analysis of Dicoding's internal documents. The results showed that the implementation of AR in training increased the interactivity and engagement of participants, and helped in the development of practical skills. However, there were technical challenges related to AR devices and difficulties in integrating the technology with training materials. On the recruitment side, AR provided a more realistic simulation experience for prospective employees, which improved the effectiveness of their practical skills assessment. This research suggests further development of AR technology in Dicoding and other companies as a solution to improve efficiency and effectiveness in training and recruitment.

Abstract

Multicultural Education Theory, as proposed by Horace Kallem, emphasizes the integration of diverse cultural perspectives within educational settings to foster equality and respect among students from various backgrounds. Kallem's theory advocates for a curriculum that not only includes but also respects and values the historical contributions, traditions, and perspectives of different cultural groups. Central to his approach is the idea that education should work as a transformative tool that challenges and rectifies societal inequalities and promotes social justice. Kallem identifies key components of this educational model, which include curriculum reform, teacher training, and inclusive school environments. Through his theoretical framework, Kallem argues that effective multicultural education can reduce prejudice and foster a deeper understanding among students, thus preparing them for a diverse and interconnected world. This abstract synthesizes Kallem's theoretical contributions, which serve as a crucial foundation for ongoing discussions and implementations in educational reform.

Abstract

February 24, 2022 Russia begins its invasion of Ukraine. The situation and condition of countries in the world that have just started to recover from being hit by COVID-19, are actually made to worry again due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The implications that are felt are quite painful, especially in the economic field. The world economic situation will weaken in line with rising commodity prices, especially in the economic and food sectors due to the conflict. Indonesia is a country that is active in trade transactions both export and import activities will certainly feel the impact of this conflict. In this study, the author places the formulation of the problem, namely how the influence of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict on Indonesia's economic development in terms of dependency theory. Then, this research uses the type of research that is carried out by normative research and uses the type of theoretical research (theoretical research). In the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, Indonesia was quite firm in stating its position as a "free and active" country, which is an advantage for Indonesia to be able to continue to carry out investment activities and export transactions with other countries, including countries involved in the conflict. so that the Indonesian economy continues to grow even in unsafe conditions and situations. But on the other hand, it must be remembered that Indonesia is a developing country that still carries the status of a country that depends on developed countries. So, when the economies of developed countries weaken such as the United States, China, and Russia for example, then Indonesia will feel the same way, the Indonesian economy will also be affected by this. This is the description of the dependency theory explanation put forward by Theotonio Dos Santos.

Abstract

The application of wasiat wajibah (compulsory will) is a significant issue within inheritance law in Indonesia, particularly regarding non-Muslim heirs who inherit from Muslim relatives. In Islamic law, wasiat wajibah refers to the entitlement given to heirs who are excluded from inheritance based on the faraid rules, with the intention of promoting fairness. This research aims to evaluate the application of wasiat wajibah for non-Muslim heirs, through a comparative analysis between Islamic law and the current jurisprudence in Indonesia. The methodology applied is a normative approach, focusing on the analysis of relevant legislation and judicial precedents. The discussion covers the concept of wasiat wajibah in Islamic law, its implications for non-Muslim heirs, and an evaluation of how it is implemented within the Indonesian legal framework. The results are expected to enhance the understanding of the implementation of wasiat wajibah in Indonesia’s multi-religious society.
