Abstract

Khairun University Campus IV is currently being developed as an educational tourism location. One form of activity is developing agricultural land. The problem there is that the land is still not very fertile. Efforts that can be made are by developing ectomycorrhizal inoculants to increase soil fertility. Community service activities are directed at providing training to the community around Campus IV Unkhair in producing ectomycorrhizal inoculants. Ectomycorrhiza has several benefits for plants, namely being able to increase the uptake of P and N nutrients. The series of service activities carried out are providing training and practice in exploring ectomycorrhiza in the forest around the Unkhair campus IV area, training in the production of ectomycorrhizal inoculants, and training in applying ectomycorrhizal inoculants on agricultural land.

Abstract

Stunting is a condition where toddlers experience a lack of nutritional intake for a long period of time so that children experience growth disorders, namely their height is shorter than the standard age. One of the factors for children experiencing stunting is parenting from parents so that every parent needs to have knowledge about how to care for children properly. This activity was carried out using the lecture/counseling method and distributing leaflets. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test, there was an increase in the knowledge of all participants by 75,1%. The psychoeducation carried out was quite successful in increasing parents' knowledge and awareness about the importance of good parenting for toddlers as an effort to prevent stunting. In order for the psychoeducation process to run continuously, there needs to be further monitoring of the community by the community health center.

Abstract

This Community Service (TCS) was carried out in 4 of the 15 villages in Sangkulirang District, East Kutai Regency. The province's main potential is capture fisheries, oil palm plantations and banana production. The purpose of this TCS is to spread knowledge and skills to the community through programs carried out by student study service (SSS). The TCS was carried out for two days, starting from Sempayau Village and Kolek Village on the first day, August 1th 2023. On the second day, August 2th 2023, it was carried out in Pulau Miang Village and Maloy Village. The method used is to hold discussions with local village officials, followed by briefing the work program of the student study service participants. Counseling work programs are selected based on the potential of each area. TCS activities in the four villages that were targeted for development through student TCS, were mainly on the socialization of product processing and demonstrations on how to process it. Most of the programs in each village are processing fishery and plantation products, making organic fertilizers, and practicing good product packaging methods. This TCS activity assists student study service students in directing village communities to develop diversification of processing and packaging methods so that they become products of higher value to the community.

Abstract

Fish feed is the largest component in freshwater fish cultivation. Feed costs reach 60%-70% of total production costs. The availability of sufficient fish food, both in quality and quantity, is one of the key factors in the success of fish farming. Good quality fish feed not only has high protein content, but also has good physical properties, one of which is buoyancy. Mitra is the Mina Mandiri group in Panembangan Village, Cilongok District, Banyumas Regency which has problems in producing quality fish feed. This activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of partners in making good quality fish food, which has a protein content that suits the fish's needs and has good buoyancy. The method by which activities are carried out includes coordinating the preparation of service activities with partners, socializing activity programs, implementing activities, and evaluating activity results. Partners are quite enthusiastic about this activity. Partners actively discuss and share experiences related to fish feed production and other fish farming issues. The results of the activity show an increase in partners' knowledge and skills in producing quality fish feed by 50%, based on pre & post tests. Service activities will continue to be carried out as a form of concern and transfer of science and technology to the community, as well as the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education.

Abstract

The lack of public in using bamboo is due to the absence of a market and lack of public. Optimizing the use of bamboo can help society increase an economic household. The aim of carrying out service activities is to improve the skills and abilities of the village forest management institution or LPHD Baharu in using bamboo as a basic material for crafts and being able to understand the concept of an independent community economy. The activity was carried out at LPHD Baharu of Foramadiahi in Ternate, North Maluku. Activities were carried out with the LPHD forest farmers group in Foramadiahi. The method used is socialization and training to process bamboo into crafts that have marketable value. All stages of activities were carried out well and supported by community participation. Some of the uses of bamboo in Foramadiahi are as house fences, braces (gata-gata), and support poles (house building materials/concoctions). Apart from that, bamboo can also be processed into various crafts and weaves. It is hoped that these activities can provide knowledge and skills for the community to develop the potential of bamboo in Foramadiahi so that it can help the community become an independent sub-district.
