Abstract

Mathematic is the science of logic that studies number theory, geometry, algebra, analysis and set theory. Mathematics is often referred to as the exact. Apart from that, mathematics is also often referred to as the exact science that is most feared by most students, especially at the elementary school level. Many students are less interested in learning because the learning media used by teachers is less interesting, so teaching materials in the form of mathematical formula pocket books are needed to improve student learning outcomes. This research aims to develop a projet based learning (PjBL) based mathematical formula pocket book that can be used to improve student learning outcomes in mathematic subjects. The research method used is research and development with thw ADDIE developmet model which has five stages. Feasibility test by material experts, media experts, subject teachers and students. The data collection technique for this research is through interviews and questionnaires. The results of the feasibility test research are as follows: 1) based on material experts, an average of 3.4 was obtained with a very feasible category; 2) based on media experts, an average of 3.8 was obtained in the very appropriate category; 3) based on mathematics subject teachers, an average of 3.3 was obtained with a very decent category.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the level of pedagogical competence of class teachers in elementary schools (SD) in Pagelaran District, Pringsewu Regency, Lampung. Teacher pedagogical competence is a key factor in improving the quality of learning and student learning outcomes. However, based on initial observations, it was found that the average teacher's pedagogical competence was still relatively low. Gaps in the mastery of pedagogical competencies, especially in rural areas, have not been studied much through empirical data-based survey approaches. The research method used is descriptive quantitative with a survey approach. The sample consisted of 50 class teachers selected using cluster sampling techniques from 15 state elementary schools. Data was collected through a Guttman scale questionnaire and analyzed descriptively, with validity and reliability tests to ensure the quality of the instrument. The research results show that the majority of teachers have high pedagogical competence, especially in understanding student characteristics (95%), mastering learning theory (94%), and being able to develop a curriculum (92%). Overall, 96% of teachers fell into the "very high" category and 4% in the "high" category. The contribution of this research provides empirical data that is useful for local governments and educational institutions in designing policies to increase teacher competency. Further research with a broader scope is needed to strengthen these findings. However, this study has limitations in covering the area and limited sample size, so generalization of the results must be done with caution. Keywords: Pedagogical competence; class teacher; primary school; quality of learning Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan melihat perkembangan terbaru kompetensi Pedagogik Guru SD yang ada di Kec. Pagelaran, Kab. Pringsewu, Lampung. Kompetensi pedagogik guru merupakan faktor kunci dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan hasil belajar siswa. Namun berdasarkan observasi awal ditemukan bahwa rata-rata kompetensi pedagogik guru masih tergolong rendah. Selain itu kesenjangan dalam penguasaan kompetensi pedagogik, terutama di daerah pedesaan masih belum banyak dikaji melalui pendekatan survei berbasis data empiris. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan survei. Sampel terdiri dari 50 guru kelas yang dipilih menggunakan teknik cluster sampling dari 15 SD Negeri. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket skala Guttman dan dianalisis secara deskriptif, dengan uji validitas dan reliabilitas untuk memastikan kualitas instrumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar guru memiliki kompetensi pedagogik tinggi, terutama dalam memahami karakteristik siswa (95%), menguasai teori pembelajaran (94%), serta mampu mengembangkan kurikulum (92%). Secara keseluruhan, 96% guru masuk dalam kategori "sangat tinggi" dan 4% dalam kategori "tinggi". Kontribusi penelitian ini memberikan data empiris yang bermanfaat bagi pemerintah daerah dan institusi pendidikan dalam merancang kebijakan peningkatan kompetensi guru. Penelitian lebih lanjut dengan cakupan yang lebih luas diperlukan untuk memperkuat temuan ini. Namun, penelitian ini memiliki keterbatasan dalam cakupan wilayah dan jumlah sampel yang terbatas, sehingga generalisasi hasil harus dilakukan dengan hati-hati. Abstract

This research aims to develop teaching materials for writing upright based on problem-based learning model with 4-D development research model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The development process begins with the define stage to identify the problems of learning to write upright, followed by the design stage to design the initial teaching materials. At the develop stage, the teaching materials were validated by material and media content experts, and tested on 26 third grade students of SDN 01 Wates Semarang. The last stage, disseminate, was conducted to disseminate the product with posters and scientific journal articles. The results showed that validation from material content experts resulted in an average score of 91% (very feasible category), while validation from media experts resulted in an average score of 93% (very feasible category). The trial of teaching materials developed for 26 third grade students of SDN 01 Wates Semarang City and the results of the comparison between pretest and posttest were -10.515, and the T-test results showed a Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05 with an effective category.

Abstract

Teacher mental health is an essential aspect of education, particularly at the Elementary School/Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (SD/MI) level. An unsupportive work environment and ineffective stress management can reduce teacher performance and negatively impact the quality of learning. This study employed a quantitative approach with proportionalrandom sampling to select 120 MI/SD teachers in Kudus Regency as the sample. The research instruments consisted of a work environment scale, a stress management scale, and a mental health scale. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The findings revealed that the quality of the work environment and stress management significantly influence teachers’ mental health, both simultaneously and partially (p < 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.616 indicates that these two independent variables contribute 61.6% to the variation in teachers’ mental health. These results confirm that a supportive work environment and effective stress management skills are key factors in maintaining teachers’ mental well-being. This aligns with occupational well-being theories that highlight the importance of psychosocial factors in supporting teacher performance. Schools, madrasahs, and policymakers are advised to optimize workplace facilities, create a conducive work climate, and provide regular stress management training. Such efforts can enhance teachers’ mental well-being, thereby supporting the delivery of high-quality and sustainable learning.

Abstract

The low level of computational thinking skills among elementary school students in Indonesia poses a major challenge in 21st-century education. This study aims to analyze the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students' computational thinking skills. The research method used was a quantitative experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes: an experimental class using the PjBL model and a control class using conventional methods. Data collection techniques included tests and observation. The t-test results showed a significant difference with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The average post-test score of the experimental class was 82.13, while the control class was 68.75. Thus, the PjBL model is proven to be effective in improving elementary school students' computational thinking skills.

Abstract

The ability to solve mathematical word problems is an essential skill for elementary school students, especially lower grades. However, second-grade students at SDI Asy-Syuhada Pamekasan still face various difficulties in understanding problem content, determining arithmetic operations, and overcoming anxiety when faced with long or complex problems. This study aims to analyze the difficulties faced by second-grade students in solving mathematical word problems, along with the contributing factors and teachers' strategies for addressing them. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.The results showed that the students' primary difficulties lie in understanding the problem content, selecting arithmetic operations, and a lack of accuracy. Contributing factors include weak reading comprehension skills, poor mastery of basic mathematical concepts, the use of problem language that is inappropriate for the students' developmental level, and a lack of interactive learning media. Furthermore, affective factors such as fear and low self-confidence exacerbate the situation. Teachers have implemented learning strategies such as a contextual approach, gradual practice, and individual guidance, but the results have not been optimal. Therefore, learning innovations are needed through varied and enjoyable methods, such as educational games, visual media, and contextual approaches relevant to everyday life to increase students' motivation, understanding, and confidence in solving math story problems.Keywords: learning difficulties, math story problems, second-grade students

Abstract

The guest lecture program in collage serves to update knowledge and improve student skills about the knowledge being studied. The organization of public lectures can be carried out through various teaching methods, one of which is the interactive discussion method. The interactive discussion method in this study was used to teach students about the problem-based learning model. The purpose of this research is to find out about students' understanding of problem-based learning through interactive discussions. The research method used in this research is quantitative with the type of pre-experiment using the one group pretest-postest design. The results showed that the interactive discussion method in online guest lectures significantly improved students' understanding of Problem Based Learning (PBL), with an average N-Gain value of 0.73 (high category) and significant paired t-test results (t = -2.291; p = 0.031 < 0.05), indicating that this approach is effective in creating a collaborative learning environment that encourages knowledge construction through three key stages (preparation, implementation, and closing).

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the implementation of deep learning models to optimize project-based learning for Pancasila Student Profile in elementary schools, particularly in character development for grade IV-VI students. The research method uses a qualitative approach with systematic literature review on project-based learning, intelligent learning technology, and character development. The results show that project-based learning is effective in instilling Pancasila values through practical activities that actively involve students. Digital technology implementation in learning has positive impact on improving critical thinking skills, creativity, and student collaboration abilities. The learning model developed with eight ideal syntax proves to be effectively implementable with expert validation support. Implementation challenges include lack of parental support and resource limitations, but can be overcome through collaboration between schools, parents, and community. The research recommends strengthening teacher mentoring, improving digital content quality, developing comprehensive evaluation systems, and utilizing local potential in learning project design for long-term program optimization.

Abstract

Numeracy literacy is very important for elementary school students because it provides a basis for applying mathematics in everyday life. Numeracy literacy requires students to think critically in solving problems. Moreover, elementary school is early childhood education to start getting used to thinking through research and analysis. Researchers use qualitative research in literature studies by reviewing various sources such as books, articles, modules, and final research assignments. The results of the research are that there are several ways to shape the critical thinking character of elementary school students with numeracy literacy, namely 1) using interactive learning models such as project-based learning and problem-based learning; 2) application of numeracy literacy in various classroom activities; and 3) conveying meaningful mathematical values during learning. A teacher can use these three methods optimally, provided that a teacher must also apply numeracy literacy in everyday life. So it will be easier for students to imitate and apply it.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Discovery learning model combined with puzzle media in improving students' understanding of Natural Science (IPA) concepts in fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 4 Muara Dua. This research employs a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group. The sample consisted of 40 students divided into two groups: the experimental group, which received learning through the Discovery learning model assisted by puzzle media, and the control group, which was taught using the demonstrasi method. Data were collected through pretests and posttests, then analyzed using an independent sample t-test. The results showed that the average posttest score of the experimental group (79.25) was higher than that of the control group (74.7), although the significance value of 0.391 (> 0.05) indicated that the difference was not statistically significant. Nonetheless, a descriptive increase in learning outcomes in the experimental group suggests that the application of the Discovery learning model assisted by puzzle media has a practically positive impact on students' understanding of science concepts.
