Abstract

This research is based on the paradigm of curriculum application or implementation, so the research data analysis technique uses the ADDIE method, namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation to answer the research problem questions: (a) How is the current prototype of the PBI study program curriculum?; (b) How is the prototype of the PBI study program curriculum according to Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023? Thus, the purpose of the study is to determine the current PBI curriculum prototype and the PBI curriculum prototype according to Permendikbudristek No. 53 of 2023. The research was carried out in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. The research results obtained were in the form of a prototype of the PBI study program curriculum development FKIP-UHKBPNP according to Permendikbudristek RI No. 53 of 2023. Furthermore, the agile development method and prototype of the results of the curriculum development were used to be implemented in the PBI study program FKIP-UHKBPNP. The definition of development in this study is a scientific way to obtain data based on initial data, so that it can be used to produce, develop, and validate products. Product validation is also confirmed to users which is carried out through FGD, zoom, or direct meetings. The state of the arts of the research is a documentation study of the current PBI curriculum prototype and curriculum development to produce a PBI curriculum prototype according to Permendikbudristek RI No. 53 of 2023. Thus, the novelty or newness as a research finding is the PBI curriculum prototype according to Permendikbudristek RI No. 53 of 2023 which will be implemented in the PBI study program FKIP-UHKBPNP.

Abstract

This study examines in depth the dynamics of classroom interactions in the Flipped Classroom learning model in the Elementary School Teaching and Learning Strategy course at the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program, HKBP Nommensen University, Pematangsiantar during the even semester of the 2023/2024 academic year. With a qualitative approach and case study design, data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results showed that providing pre-class materials significantly improved students' readiness and understanding before class discussions. Class discussions became more in-depth and interactive thanks to this preparation, while the use of learning videos made it easier to understand complex concepts. Formative assessments provided immediate and useful feedback for students to improve their weaknesses, while focusing on metacognitive skills such as reflection and planning helped in the development of more effective learning strategies. Flipped Classroom has also been shown to improve students' time management and productivity, as well as enrich social interactions in the classroom through active involvement in both in-class and out-of-class discussions. This model is flexible in assignments, which significantly increases student motivation and engagement. In conclusion, Flipped Classroom not only improves academic understanding but also plays an important role in developing students' social and metacognitive skills, making it an effective learning model in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.

Abstract

Reading ability in English has been an essential skill for high school students, yet many students have experienced difficulties in comprehending English texts effectively. One factor suspected to be the cause of this problem was the students’ lack of ability to monitor their reading process. This research aimed to describe the monitoring in reading on students' English reading materials and to identify the dominant components in students' reading monitoring. The research was conducted at SMA Swasta Santu Xaverius Gunungsitoli used a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observations and interviews with 36 tenth-grade students. The results showed that students applied three main components in reading monitoring: Comprehension Monitoring, Metacognitive Monitoring, and Comprehension Evaluation. Monitoring Comprehension emerged as the most dominant strategy that students reported using. The most frequently used strategies were rereading difficult passages, underlining important passages, and taking notes. Metacognitive monitoring was reported by students, with a focus on identifying difficulties in texts and reflecting on reading content. Comprehension Evaluation was used by students, particularly in answering text-related questions and identifying main ideas. In conclusion, most students have demonstrated good awareness of their reading process and have actively used various strategies to improve their comprehension of English texts. However, there is still room for improvement, especially in the aspects of metacognitive monitoring and the use of more complex strategies.

Abstract

Targeted marketing management at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Syubbanul Wathon has played a role in building and maintaining public trust, which then contributed to the increase in the number of registrants each year. Madrasah Tsanawiyah Syubbanul Wathon applies the marketing mix concept which includes product, price, place, promotion, process, physical evidence, and people to attract prospective students and build a positive image in the community. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the marketing management strategy implemented by Madrasah Tsanawiyah Syubbanul Wathon in increasing public trust. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the marketing mix strategy implemented has succeeded in increasing the number of registrants significantly, from 290 registrants in 2019/2020 to 477 registrants in 2024/2025. Key success factors include the madrasah's flagship programs, competitive tuition fees, strategic location, effective promotion, responsive service, and adequate facilities. Students' academic and non-academic achievements also strengthen the positive image of the madrasah in the eyes of the community. The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of targeted and integrated educational marketing management through the marketing mix strategy (7P) can increase public trust and interest in enrolling in Madrasah Tsanawiyah Syubbanul Wathon.

Abstract

This study investigates how the role of micro teaching courses provides valuable experience to prospective economics teacher students and reveals how students' efforts to improve their competencies as provisions for becoming teachers through micro teaching courses. This study was conducted at Universitas PGRI Wiranegara, Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, Economics Education Study Program, specifically on students of the 2021 intake who are currently taking semester 6. This study adopted a case study approach, using semi-structured interviews, Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), and observations for data collection. The findings show that all students of the 2021 intake who were the subjects of this study stated that they practiced at least four skills in micro teaching lecture activities. The first skill is the ability to manage learning, the ability to carry out responsibilities as prospective teachers according to the professional code of ethics and oriented towards students, the ability to communicate and interact effectively and efficiently, and no less importantly, the ability to master economics subject matter comprehensively. This study concludes that prospective economics teacher students can hone and combine pedagogical, personality, social, and professional competencies through micro teaching courses. Given the limitations regarding the generalizability of this research, it is recommended that future research collect more comprehensive data in relation to the depth of reflection and feedback in the education of prospective economics teachers through Introduction to School Environment courses or teaching assistantships in schools.

Abstract

The new paradigm in Civic Education (PKn) learning in elementary schools is very important in shaping students' character in the digital era. This study aims to evaluate how innovative approaches and methods in PKn learning can create students who have integrity, ethics, and adequate digital skills. Through literature studies and empirical data analysis from several elementary schools in Indonesia, it was found that technology integration in PKn learning can increase student interest and engagement. Project-based learning, the use of interactive digital media, and internet-based educational applications are important tools in this process. Approaches that emphasize collaboration, critical discussion, and self-reflection have also proven effective in instilling citizenship values ??and digital ethics. The results of this study indicate that by adopting a new paradigm that is adaptive to technological developments, PKn learning in elementary schools is not only able to shape good student character, but also prepare them to become smart and responsible citizens in the digital era. These findings provide important implications for curriculum development and educational practices in elementary schools, especially in facing the challenges and opportunities presented by the digital era.

Abstract

Javanese language learning in elementary schools plays an important role in preserving regional culture and language. However, challenges in teaching Javanese vocabulary often arise, especially due to the dominance of Indonesian and foreign languages ??in everyday life. In SD Negeri 02 Tahunan, interactive learning methods are needed to increase students' interest in learning Javanese vocabulary. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Role playing method in learning Javanese vocabulary in grade 2 of SD Negeri 02 Tahunan. The main objective is to identify obstacles and find solutions to improve the understanding of Javanese vocabulary for grade 2 students. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires from 25 grade 2 students. The implementation process of the Role playing method includes scenario preparation, drama implementation, and learning evaluation. The results showed that the majority of students gave a positive response to the Role playing method. The questionnaire data showed an average score of 948 out of a total of 1,250, with the highest score reaching 120. Students felt it was easier to understand vocabulary and were more confident in using Javanese after participating in Role playing activities. The role playing method has proven to be effective in improving students' understanding of Javanese vocabulary and active participation.

Abstract

The ability to speak is an expression of expressing opinions, thoughts and feelings in communicating and expressing oneself through interactions between people. Speaking is the basis for students to be confident in developing their potential in learning, especially learning English. This researcher aims to improve students' speaking skills by using video blog media. The method used in this research is the classroom action research method. The instrument of this research is the use of media through video blogs. The classroom action research carried out consisted of two cycles. Each cycle consists of 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The research results showed that in cycle I there were 26 students who achieved a score of less than 70 as the limit for complete understanding, while 4 students scored more than 70. The average score for students' speaking ability through video blogs was 54.33%. Meanwhile, in cycle II, 2 students got a score of less than 70, while 28 students got a score of more than 70. The average score for students' speaking ability through video blogs was 80.28%. After conducting classroom action research at Bunga Mawar Gunungsitoli Private Middle School, this provides an illustration that learning using media through video blogs has improved students' speaking skills, especially in class VII at Bunga Mawar Gunungsitoli.

Abstract

The performance of school principal in managing human resources involves efforts to develop and utilize the potential of teaching and educational staff effectively to achieve educational goals. This research aimed to analyze the performance of the principal in managing human resources and the principal's efforts in improving the skills of English teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Gunungsitoli Utara. The research method used was a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through direct observation and structured interviews with the school principal and two teachers. The research results showed that school principal demonstrated good managerial competence in three main aspects: leadership, management of teacher and staff human resources, student management. The principal was success in leading meetings effectively, providing clear direction, and motivating teachers and staff for professional development. In managing human resources, school principal routinely carry out performance assessments, prepared efficient work schedules, and encouraged staff participation in decision making. In the field of student management, the principal was success in managing the admission of new students, placing students according to their abilities, and apart from that, the principal also provided teachers' needs such as books, dictionaries and moreover the principal gives teachers the freedom to increase their potential independently and also implemented MGMP (Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran) as an effort to improve the skills of English teachers. The school principal demonstrated strong leadership, effective human resource management, and successful student management.

Abstract

The main problem that is a challenge in character formation through civic education is the increasing development of the digital era which changes the mindset and character of students. Therefore, value education in civics is needed to shape the character of elementary school students in the current digital era. This study uses a literature study method by searching for sources such as scientific articles, journals, and documents related to research problems. The data used are secondary data obtained from relevant books, articles, and journals. Data collection techniques include literature studies, listening techniques, and note-taking techniques. Through literature studies and empirical data analysis from several studies, it was found that the role of value education in civics has an important role in building the moral character of students in the digital era. Not only is it able to form good student character, but it also prepares students to face various challenges that arise due to negative content such as cyberbullying, hoaxes, gadget addiction, pornographic sites, and other unethical behavior. In the midst of rapid technological developments, civics aims not only to make students academically intelligent, but also to form a strong, creative, critical, and active moral character. Civic Education provides students with the skills to develop attitudes of tolerance, peace, harmony, and respect for diversity. Value education in Civic Education (PKn) plays a very important role in shaping students' character, especially in the challenging digital era. Digital technology provides broad access to information, but also has negative impacts. Therefore, a structured and innovative approach is needed in learning PKn, which not only educates students about the values ??of Pancasila, but also helps them develop digital literacy and online ethics. The role of families, teachers, and the community is also very crucial in supporting students' character education.
