Abstract

The digital era requires students to possess Digital Citizenship competencies to use technology wisely, ethically, and responsibly. However, many students still fail to utilize technology productively and ethically. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model in Pancasila Education to enhance students' Digital Citizenship competencies at SMA YAS Bandung. The study employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a Non-Equivalent Control Group Design. The sample consists of two classes—an experimental class receiving the PjBL treatment and a control class undergoing conventional instruction—with 34 students in each. Data collection involved pre-tests and post-tests, while data analysis utilized normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired t-tests, independent t-tests, and normalized gain (N-Gain) calculations. The results indicate a significant improvement in Digital Citizenship competencies in both groups, with the experimental class showing a greater increase. The experimental class's average score rose with an N-Gain of 0.61 (medium-to-high category), whereas the control class achieved only 0.24 (low category). The independent t-test yielded a significance value of < 0.05, confirming a significant difference between the two groups. The implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model proved effective in enhancing students' digital literacy, digital ethics, and digital security, as well as their participation and responsibility within the digital space. Furthermore, this model fosters a more active, collaborative, and contextual learning experience, making it highly relevant for Pancasila Education in the digital era.

Abstract

Reading literacy and the cultivation of a character that values culture are crucial aspects of elementary education. Yet, they face challenges—particularly regarding instruction that lacks contextual relevance to students' environments. This study aimed to develop and test the effectiveness of a learning module based on the local wisdom of the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in enhancing the reading comprehension skills and cultural appreciation of fourth-grade elementary students. A Research and Development (R&D) approach was employed using the ADDIE model, comprising the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study involved 50 students in the field trial and 12 students in the limited trial within the Sepaku Cluster 3 area, North Penajam Paser Regency. Data were collected through tests, questionnaires, observations, and interviews, and subsequently analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, specifically the N-Gain test and paired sample t-test. The results indicated that the developed module fell into the "highly valid" category, with a feasibility rating of 89.1%. The limited trial revealed a "very good" student response, with a score of 81.7%. Effectiveness testing demonstrated an improvement in reading comprehension—with the average score rising from 62.4 to 81.6 (N-Gain: 0.51)—and an enhancement in cultural appreciation—rising from 64.2 to 82.8 (N-Gain: 0.52). The t-test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), confirming a significant improvement following the module's use. These findings demonstrate that the IKN local wisdom-based learning module is effective in simultaneously improving students' reading comprehension and cultural appreciation through contextual and meaningful learning.

Abstract

The limited integration of local cultural values into arts and culture learning media in elementary schools results in a learning process that remains largely theoretical and fails to provide a fully contextual learning experience. This situation restricts opportunities for students to explore their creativity and weakens their understanding of local cultural identity—a crucial element in character development. This study aims to develop learning media based on the ethnopedagogy of the Ronggeng dance to enhance creativity and strengthen the cultural identity of elementary school students. The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, comprising the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research was conducted at State Elementary School (SDN) 024 Sepaku, North Penajam Paser Regency, East Kalimantan Province. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Research instruments were validated by subject matter and media experts, followed by descriptive quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results indicate that subject matter expert validation achieved a score of 87.5% (categorized as "highly feasible"), while media expert validation achieved 77.5% (categorized as "feasible"). Implementation of the media demonstrated increased student engagement in understanding the movement elements, values, and cultural significance of the Ronggeng dance. Measurements of student creativity and cultural identity reached 87.18% and 90.23%, respectively, both falling into the "excellent" category. The findings confirm that the Ronggeng dance ethnopedagogy media serves not only as a tool for arts education but also as a model for integrating local culture, capable of fostering creativity while simultaneously strengthening the cultural identity of elementary school students.

Abstract

Regulation of the Minister of National Education No. 70 of 2009 serves as the legal foundation for inclusive education in Indonesia, mandating that every regency and city provide inclusive schools at all educational levels. However, more than a decade after its enactment, a significant gap persists between policy and actual practice. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of inclusive education policy in primary schools and identify the systemic barriers hindering its execution. A mixed-methods approach was employed, utilising in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis across 12 inclusive primary schools in three provinces. The findings reveal four major challenges: limited teacher competence in handling students with special needs, a shortage of certified Special Support Teachers (GPK), school facilities that are not yet disability-friendly, and weak coordination among central and regional governments and educational institutions. Based on these findings, the study recommends three strategies: strengthening competency-based training for inclusive education teachers, revising budget allocation mechanisms for inclusive schools, and establishing an integrated, data-driven monitoring system. Although Regulation No. 70 of 2009 paved the way for inclusive education in Indonesia, the divide between regulation and practice remains wide. Teachers lack sufficient inclusive education competencies, certified support teachers are scarce, school facilities do not accommodate students with disabilities, and inter-governmental coordination remains fragmented. The three resulting recommendations are intended to serve as a guide for policymakers in strengthening an inclusive education ecosystem that is equitable and sustainable. True inclusive education is not merely a matter of written regulations but a shared commitment that must be realised even in the most remote classrooms.

Abstract

Vocational students are expected to develop communication skills that meet workplace demands; however, Business English instruction often remains focused on theoretical content and routine language exercises. This condition limits opportunities for authentic communication practice and affects students’ confidence and performance in professional settings. This study developed and evaluated a simulation-based learning toolkit using a Research and Development approach with the ADDIE framework. The toolkit was designed to support three communication modes through structured learning activities and was implemented with 30 vocational students enrolled in a Business English course. Data were collected through performance-based pretests and posttests, classroom observations, and student reflections. Quantitative data were analysed using paired-sample t-tests, while qualitative findings were used to support the interpretation of learning outcomes. The findings revealed significant improvements in students’ communication performance after the intervention. Students demonstrated better comprehension of workplace texts, more active participation in discussions, and greater confidence in presenting ideas during business meeting simulations. Statistical analysis showed significant differences between pretest and posttest scores across all communication modes (p < 0.001), accompanied by large effect sizes. Students also reported positive perceptions of the learning experience and the relevance of the activities to professional communication contexts. The integration of simulation activities, performance-based assessment, and systematic instructional design effectively enhanced communication competence among vocational learners and strengthened the connection between classroom learning and workplace communication practices

Abstract

Mental health issues among adolescents are on the rise, yet adequate levels of mental health literacy have not matched this trend. This situation is exacerbated by limited mental health education services and a scarcity of learning materials designed to enhance students' understanding. This study aimed to conduct a needs analysis for the development of a mental health psychoeducation module to serve as a resource for Guidance and Counselling services for junior high school students. A qualitative descriptive approach with a needs assessment design was employed. The participants consisted of 31 seventh-grade students and one Guidance and Counselling teacher from SMP Negeri 20 Surakarta. Data collection involved observation, questionnaires, and in-depth interviews, with the data subsequently analysed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña framework, which comprises three key stages: data condensation/reduction, data display, and final verification. The needs analysis indicated that developing a Mental Health Psychoeducation Module is a priority, as there is currently a lack of psychoeducational materials to support Guidance and Counselling services in improving students' mental health literacy in a manner aligned with their specific characteristics and needs. The findings confirm that developing a psychoeducational module based on student needs is a strategic step toward supporting Guidance and Counselling services while simultaneously enhancing mental health literacy.
