Abstract

This study aims to improve student engagement and learning outcomes through the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach using the Environmental Awareness Train Exploration method in the Pancasila Education subject, particularly on the topic of Environmental Awareness. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis & McTaggart model, which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection stages across two cycles. The participants were 23 second-grade students of Class 2A at SDN Tunjungsekar 1, Malang City. Instruments used in the study included student engagement observation sheets, participation questionnaires, as well as pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed that the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach through the Environmental Awareness Train Exploration effectively enhanced student engagement and learning outcomes significantly and sustainably. Student engagement increased from 67% in the pre-cycle, which falls into the Fair category, to 86% in Cycle I and 96% in Cycle II, both of which fall into the Very Good category. In terms of learning outcomes, the average pre-test score of 73 improved to 87 in Cycle I and reached 94 in Cycle II, with an N-Gain score of 0.78, categorized as high. These results indicate that the Contextual Teaching and Learning approach is effective in improving both student engagement and learning outcomes among elementary students. Thus, the implementation of the Contextual Teaching and Learning can serve as an alternative for teachers or future researchers to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes in other learning topics.

Abstract

Intersections are locations of traffic conflicts. The absence of traffic lights or traffic lights at the intersection of Jalan Dolokgede - Purwosari and Jalan Raya Purwosari - Padangan means that vehicles often experience traffic jams and are also prone to traffic accidents. There needs to be traffic management implemented, especially traffic lights or traffic lights, to regulate these unsignaled intersections. The research limits the problem by discussing intersection conditions, traffic volume, saturation flow, effective green time, capacity, degree of saturation, queue length and delays. Traffic light calculations were carried out using the PKJI 2023 method. The results of two-phase intersection planning calculations resulted in a western approach DJ of 0.535, an eastern approach of 0.456, a southern approach of 0.507, an average intersection delay of 9 seconds/SMP with an intersection cycle time of 29 seconds. Meanwhile, the results of the three-phase fire intersection planning produced a western approach DJ of 0.65, an eastern approach of 0.654, a southern approach of 0.643, an average intersection delay of 21.2 seconds/SMP with an intersection cycle time of 46 seconds. The regulation of the unsignaled intersection of Jalan Dolokgede - Purwosari and Jalan Raya Purwosari - Dolokgede can be carried out using either two phases or three phases in accordance with the PKJI 2023 guidelines with DJ ≤0.85.

Abstract

HIV and TB are a combination disease that can cause death and can accelerate the development of disease between the two. HIV and TB disease affect each other in all aspects and people infected with HIV are more prone to being infected with active TB, which is around 21-34 times, compared to people who are HIV negative. Objective to find out the profile of routine hematology examinations in HIV and HIV patients with TB at Kendari City Hospital. Method The research design uses a retrospective descriptive, namely by describing and interpreting an object according to the existing data. This study was a non-experimental study because it did not control the research variables and the researchers collected data on the results of the medical records of Kendari City General Hospital patients in 2022/2023 as many as 33 samples. Results Neutrophils increased in HIV patients, Lymphocytes decreased in HIV and HIV patients with TB, and Hemoglobin decreased in HIV patients with TB. Discussion shows that neutrophil parameters increase in HIV patients due to increased inflammatory activity. Decreased lymphocyte levels in HIV and HIV patients with TB are due to decreased immune response in the body. While Hb levels decrease in HIV patients with TB due to TB disease there is an abnormality which is anemia. Anemia is characterized by decreased hemoglobin levels in the body. Conclusion Decreased lymphocyte levels in HIV patients are due to decreased immune response in the body. Meanwhile, decreased hemoglobin levels in HIV-infected patients with TB are due to TB disease having an abnormality which is anemia.

Abstract

Homophobia remains a significant social issue, negatively affecting LGBTQ+ individuals and communities. Educational interventions are seen as a promising solution to foster understanding, acceptance, and empathy towards the LGBTQ+ community. This systematic review explores the effectiveness of such interventions in reducing homophobia, drawing from key studies that demonstrate positive impacts. Findings suggest that educational programs can increase knowledge about sexual diversity, promote empathy, and reduce discriminatory behaviors. Despite some limitations, these interventions show potential in creating more inclusive environments, especially when implemented early in educational and community settings. Future research should focus on larger and more diverse samples to strengthen these findings.
