Abstract

Islam plays a central role in shaping and coloring Malay culture, including dimensions of education, morality, law, and customs. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study method to examine how Islam influences Malay culture over time and the challenges faced in maintaining these values in the modern era. Historical research shows that Islam entered the archipelago through trade, preaching, and marriage, which then brought about significant transformations in the traditional Malay education system. Institutions such as surau, madrasah, and pesantren became centers of religious education that not only taught Islamic knowledge, but also shaped the character and morality of the community. Islamic moral values were integrated into the social norms and behavior of Malay society, strengthening manners, ethics, and moral principles in everyday life. In addition, Malay customary law underwent Islamization by adopting various sharia principles in its legal practices. However, the development of the era, the flow of globalization, and technological advances have become major challenges in maintaining this Islamic cultural heritage. Therefore, strategic efforts are needed through contextual transformation of Islamic education, utilization of digital media as a means of preaching and education, and strengthening the role of the family and social environment as a fortress of Islamic values. This study concludes that the sustainability of Islamic values in Malay culture is highly dependent on the ability of society to adapt and revitalize these values so that they remain relevant in the dynamics of modern life.

Abstract

The advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has significantly contributed to the development of interactive systems, including chatbots. This study aims to implement an AI-based chatbot capable of providing skincare product recommendations by understanding the intent behind users' questions or statements. The methods used in this research include Natural Language Processing (NLP) for natural language understanding, and the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) model as a machine learning algorithm for intent classification. Conversational data was collected and processed through text preprocessing stages such as tokenization, stemming, and padding. The LSTM model was trained using a labeled dataset to recognize various user intents, such as product recommendations, product information, and general skincare-related inquiries. Evaluation results showed that the model achieved an accuracy of 80%, with a precision and recall of 85.7% each. Furthermore, the Mean Average Precision (MAP) score, which measures the relevance between user queries and the system’s responses, reached 100%, indicating that all 20 test questions were answered as expected. The implementation of this chatbot is expected to assist users in efficiently selecting skincare products that match their needs, eliminating the need for manual information searching.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the perceptions of Guidance and Counseling students on the ethics and innovation of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and its influence on the future counselor’s role. A quantitative descriptive approach was employed using a survey method with a Likert scale. A total of 134 students across three cohorts (2022, 2023, and 2024) participated in this study. The results showed that the 2024 cohort demonstrated a higher tendency to use GenAI and perceived it as a positive innovation, while the 2022 and 2023 cohorts showed greater ethical awareness in using the technology. This indicates a gap between technological proficiency and ethical sensitivity among students. The study concluded that GenAI offers potential benefits for academic innovation but must be balanced with ethical considerations to preserve the integrity of the guidance and counseling profession. These findings highlight the importance of integrating digital ethics into the educational curriculum for prospective counselors.

Abstract

Dating violence is a form of gender-based violence that frequently occurs within romantic relationships. This study aims to examine the understanding of dating violence from the victims’ perspectives. It also seeks to identify the types of violence experienced and the responses of victims in the Surakarta region and surrounding areas. This research adopts a qualitative design with a phenomenological approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The findings indicate that victims possess a relatively good understanding of dating violence. However, this understanding does not necessarily empower them to break free from the cycle of violence. The violence experienced by victims is categorized into two types: non-physical and physical violence. Non-physical violence includes possessiveness, restriction of freedom, verbal abuse, psychological abuse, and economic abuse. Physical violence consists of physical assault and sexual violence. Not all victims reported experiencing extreme forms of abuse, such as physical or sexual violence. However, all participants experienced some form of non-physical violence. Several factors were identified as contributing to victims’ decisions to remain in abusive relationships, including emotional attachment (love), dependency, and family-related reasons.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the extent to which Korea's cultural diplomacy has positive implications for improving the country's economy. This research examines cultural diplomacy using the drama Queen of Tears as the main example of the Korean Wave. The Korean Wave, also called Hallyu, emerged as South Korea's soft power that substantially improved its relations with various countries while encouraging economic growth. In 2004, the influence of Hallyu contributed to an increase in South Korea's GDP by 0.2 percent to reach 1.87 billion US dollars and in 2019 it increased to 12.3 billion US dollars. The Korean Wave has become a model of effective cultural diplomacy. A survey conducted in 2023 by the South Korean government showed that Indonesia ranked highest among 26 countries with a consumption level of Korean cultural content of 35.5 percent. This research uses qualitative research methods. The research results show that the use of culture that has strong support from the government, quality production and effective marketing strategies can contribute positively to improving bilateral relations, the tourism sector and the economy of a country.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of work-life balance and empowerment on the productivity of millennial doctors in Indonesia, given that this group dominates the medical workforce and faces increasing systemic challenges. The research method used is an explanatory quantitative approach with data analysis using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) through SmartPLS 3.0 software. The research sample consisted of 100 millennial doctors in Indonesia, who were selected using purposive sampling. The results showed that work-life balance does not have a significant direct influence on the productivity of millennial medical personnel (p-value = 0.276), but has a positive influence on empowerment (p-value = 0.000). In addition, empowerment is shown to have a significant positive influence on productivity (p-value = 0.000), and empowerment also acts as a mediator that strengthens the relationship between work-life balance and millennial medical personnel productivity, empowerment also acts as a catalytic mechanism that transforms work-life balance experiences into improved professional performance. This dimension is in line with previous research. These findings highlight the importance of empowerment in creating a work ecosystem that supports work-life balance and improves productivity. Policies that integrate empowerment with work-life balance can create a conducive work environment for millennial doctors, which not only improves their well-being but also enables them to achieve optimal performance. Therefore, the development of policies that support these two factors will contribute to the quality of medical services in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a geographic information system (GIS) capable of tracking the IP address of a domain and visualizing it in the form of an interactive map. In the context of computer networks, IP geolocation is an important aspect in detecting user location for various purposes such as service personalization, network performance improvement through Content Delivery Network (CDN), and compliance with certain regional laws. The system built utilizes the Sequential Search algorithm to facilitate the search for data such as food prices from various markets. The tracking process starts from converting the domain into an IP address, followed by a traceroute to determine the path (hops) through which the data packet travels, and finally mapping the results visually using GIS. The results show that the system is able to identify public, private, and inactive IPs, as well as display data communication routes with marked points on the map. This visualization helps users in analyzing the network, detecting potential disruptions, and making it easier to understand the flow of data traffic. The system is also relevant for use in network monitoring, suspicious activity tracking, and education about internet infrastructure.
