Abstract

This study aims to formulate development strategies for sport tourism in the Mandalika Special Economic Zone (SEZ), focusing on synergy with local communities in the villages of Kuta, Mertak, and Sengkol, Pujut District, Central Lombok. Despite Mandalika SEZ’s great potential through hosting international events such as MotoGP, the involvement of local communities in sport tourism activities remains limited. A qualitative approach was applied, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis employed SWOT and PESTEL frameworks, supported by triangulation to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that sustainable sport tourism development requires four key strategies: (1) collaboration between event organizers and local communities, (2) capacity building through training and digital promotion systems, (3) the formulation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for community involvement and partnership regulations, and (4) legal and economic protection for local stakeholders. These strategies are implemented through community asset mapping, needs-based training, the formation of communication forums, and participatory evaluation. This study contributes to the development of a participatory sport tourism model within a special economic zone framework, positioning local communities as active agents of development.

Abstract

The role of social capital in the agricultural sector, especially in rice production, is crucial as it serves not only as a foundation for national food security but also as a driving force for the rural economy. In Waihatu Village, West Kairatu District, West Seram Regency, rice farmers encounter several obstacles, including limited access to modern technology, market information, and the impacts of climate change, all of which affect crop productivity. This descriptive qualitative study aims to examine the effectiveness of social capital in supporting farmers' productive activities. The research took place in Waihatu Village and involved data collection through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that social capital is already embedded in the interactions between rice farmers and buyers, demonstrating its positive effect on increasing farmer productivity. Key elements of social capital—trust, social networks, and social norms—play a significant role in enhancing agricultural output. Trust among farmers fosters cooperation and mutual assistance, especially in the exchange of knowledge about improved farming techniques. Social networks support the distribution of agricultural products, improve access to business capital, and strengthen ties between farmers and buyers. Additionally, the presence of social norms helps to establish work discipline, promote collaboration, and maintain social cohesion. Importantly, the ethnic diversity in Waihatu Village is not seen as a barrier but rather as a source of shared experiences and innovation in farming practices.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of reward and punishment on employee performance at the Cultural Heritage Preservation Office, Region XX Maluku. A quantitative approach was used through a survey method involving 93 respondents. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to test three main hypotheses: the partial effect of reward on performance, the partial effect of punishment on performance, and the simultaneous effect of both variables on employee performance. The t-test results indicate that both reward and punishment have a significant partial effect on performance, with significance values of < 0.001. Reward contributed 34.6%, while punishment contributed a higher percentage of 60.2%. The F-test results show that reward and punishment simultaneously have a significant impact on employee performance, with an R Square value of 0.838, meaning 83.8% of the performance variance can be explained by these two variables. These findings highlight the importance of implementing appropriate human resource management strategies based on rewards and sanctions to improve employee motivation and productivity. The study recommends enhancing the reward system with more variations and applying fair and consistent punishment as part of performance management policies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Human Resource Development (HRD) and Infrastructure on Service Quality at the Cultural Heritage Preservation Office (Balai Pelestarian Kebudayaan) Region XX Maluku. The research uses a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression methods to test three hypotheses, both partially and simultaneously. The sample consisted of all employees in the institution, with a total of 93 respondents. The results of the analysis show that HRD has a significant effect on improving service quality. Similarly, adequate infrastructure also contributes significantly to the efficiency and effectiveness of services. Simultaneously, these two independent variables significantly influence service quality, as evidenced by a coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.800. This means that 80% of the variation in service quality can be explained by HRD and infrastructure factors. The findings provide essential recommendations for policymakers to enhance HR quality through training programs and provide supportive work facilities. Moreover, the synergy between HRD and infrastructure needs to be managed in an integrated manner to achieve optimal public services. The study also recommends regular evaluations to ensure that service quality improvements are continuous and adaptive to future challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Employee Welfare, Intrinsic Motivation, and Workload on Employee Productivity at the Cultural Heritage Preservation Center Region XX in Maluku. A quantitative approach was used with multiple linear regression analysis. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 93 respondents who are active employees at the institution. The results indicate that partially, Employee Welfare and Intrinsic Motivation have a significant effect on Employee Productivity, while Workload does not show a significant effect. Intrinsic Motivation yielded the highest regression coefficient, indicating it is the most dominant factor in improving productivity. Simultaneously, the three independent variables significantly influence Employee Productivity, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.917. This means that 91.7% of the variation in productivity can be explained by welfare, intrinsic motivation, and workload. These findings highlight the importance of enhancing welfare and empowering intrinsic motivation as core strategies for improving employee performance. The study provides both theoretical and practical contributions to human resource management in the public sector, especially in developing performance-based policies.

Abstract

Early marriage remains a significant social issue in Indonesia, especially in regions such as East Lombok where cultural norms and economic conditions reinforce the practice. Women who marry under the age of 20 are often subjected to multiple forms of social stigma, including physical stereotypes, moral judgments, and social exclusion. This study aims to explore how these young women manage the stigma they face through interpersonal communication strategies. A qualitative approach with a multiple-case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with five early-married women residing in East Lombok. The analysis utilized Meisenbach’s (2010) Stigma Management Communication Theory to identify the types of stigma experienced and the communicative strategies adopted. The findings reveal that the participants encountered three main types of stigma: physical (e.g., being perceived as too young), moral (e.g., viewed as irresponsible), and social (e.g., exclusion from social gatherings). In response, the women employed strategies such as acceptance, avoidance, emotional minimization, and affirmation. These responses were shaped by contextual factors, including the nature of their relationship with the stigmatizer. These communication strategies helped the women maintain psychological resilience and navigate their social environments while preserving self-confidence and agency. This study contributes to the fields of interpersonal communication, gender studies, and stigma management by demonstrating how young women in conservative cultural settings resist negative labeling through context-sensitive communication. The findings underscore the need for culturally grounded support systems to empower early-married women and reduce harmful societal stigmas.
