Abstract

Weak or non-transparent ESG reports regarding governance structure and internal control policies can signal to auditors a high inherent risk of control failure, which in turn increases the risk of material misstatement due to fraud. This study aims to examine the effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosure on audit quality, as well as the effect of company size and industry complexity as moderating variables in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2020 to 2024. The research sample was determined using purposive sampling. The study uses a causal associative method with a quantitative approach and panel data regression analysis. The statistical data processing and analysis were carried out using STATA statistical software. The results showed that disclosure of environmental aspects had no effect on audit quality. In contrast, social and governance aspects have a negative effect on audit quality. This finding indicates that the higher the social and governance score of a company, the auditor tends to consider the audit risk lower, thus reducing the need for additional independent audits. Simultaneously, social and governance are also proven to reduce audit quality. Firm size is not shown to moderate the relationship between ESG and audit quality, as both large and small firms may experience an exaggerated perception of high ESG reputation. However, industry complexity is shown to positively moderate the relationship between social and governance aspects and audit quality. In complex industries, despite high ESG scores, the demand for rigorous audit oversight still increases due to the high potential reporting risks. This study provides an empirical contribution in understanding the dynamics of ESG influence on audit in Indonesia's manufacturing sector, and suggests the importance of considering operational complexity factors in designing an effective audit oversight system.

Abstract

Intervention refers to disturbances caused by internal or external variables, such as market changes, international events, or policy shifts. The dataset used in this study contains three intervention events, referred to as a multi-input intervention. The data consist of car production figures from PT Astra Daihatsu Motor obtained from the official GAIKINDO website. The forecasting task focuses on predicting PT Astra Daihatsu Motor’s production, which was influenced by three major interventions: policy changes in 2013, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and the increase in SUV production in 2022. This study compares ARIMA and LSTM models for car production forecasting. The dataset covers monthly production data from January 2010 to June 2024, with a total of 174 observations. RMSE, MAPE, and SMAPE are employed as accuracy measures. Based on the testing data (May 2023–June 2024), the results show that the LSTM model outperforms ARIMA in capturing trend patterns, with lower error values of RMSE (4587.65), MAPE (10.37), and SMAPE (10.39), compared to ARIMA with RMSE (5059.48), MAPE (11.59), and SMAPE (10.50). Accordingly, LSTM represents a relevant and robust modeling alternative for production forecasting in operational decision-making, owing to its flexibility and strong capability in capturing complex data patterns.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reasonableness of costs for performance report preparation programs in each Regional Government Organization (OPD) of Tolitoli Regency. The approach used is descriptive quantitative, with secondary data in the form of the 2024 Tolitoli Regency Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) document. Data analysis was carried out using simple linear regression with the help of SPSS software. The results show that the regression equation obtained is: Y =-22,780,831,863,267 + 3,665,682,455,393X, where X represents the number of performance report preparation activities/reports and the summary of OPD performance realization as a cost driver. Based on the estimation results, 3 OPDs are in the underfinancing category, 20 OPDs are in the overfinancing category, and 6 OPDs are in the reasonable cost category. These findings indicate that there is still an imbalance in the allocation of expenditure budgets in Tolitoli Regency. The implementation of ASB (Expenditure Standards Analysis) is expected to help the regional government to prepare a budget that is more effective, efficient, and on target, while also increasing transparency and accountability in the use of public funds.

Abstract

The rapid development of information technology requires human resources (HR) who are adaptive, competent, and competitive. This study analyzes the role of information technology education in improving HR quality in the technology sector through a systematic literature review of Indonesian studies. The findings show that IT education, in both formal settings (schools and universities) and non-formal programs (courses, certifications, and industry-based training), significantly enhances technical skills such as programming, cybersecurity, and data analysis, while also developing non-technical skills like communication, collaboration, and problem-solving. Technology-based learning models, including e-learning, blended learning, and project-based learning, have proven to expand access, increase effectiveness, and foster innovation in learning. Collaboration between educational institutions, industry, and government is essential to align curricula with workforce needs. Despite challenges such as limited infrastructure, unequal internet access, and varying educator capacities, the study confirms that investing in IT education is a strategic approach to developing high quality human resources and supporting national competitiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

The digital transformation in education has encouraged the adoption of innovative learning media, one of which is the use of educational games (edugames) in English language teaching. This study aims to explore secondary school students' perceptions of the use of digital edugames in English language learning. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed to gain an in-depth understanding of students' learning experiences through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation. Participants included eighth and ninth grade students from a secondary school in North Sumatra who actively used edugame applications such as Quizizz, Wordwall, and Kahoot during their learning activities. The findings reveal that students hold positive perceptions of edugames in terms of motivation, learning engagement, and content comprehension. Digital games were found to support vocabulary and grammar acquisition in a contextual and enjoyable environment. However, technical constraints such as device availability and internet access remain challenges in implementation. Students’ perceptions were also shaped by the role of teachers in designing and facilitating the use of edugames in a structured and pedagogically sound manner. Hence, digital edugames are considered effective when integrated systematically and interactively into instructional planning. This study highlights the importance of technology-integrated learning approaches and students' active involvement in selecting instructional media.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of fish trading transactions on the welfare of fishermen in Medan Deras Village and examine this situation from an Islamic economic perspective. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation studies of fishermen as the main actors in the transactions. The results show that the fish trading mechanism is still dominated by distributors and traders, thus placing fishermen in a weak bargaining position. Unfair pricing practices and dysfunctional Fish Marketing Places (TPI) cause fishermen to receive incomes that are not commensurate with the efforts and risks incurred. From an Islamic economic perspective, this condition does not reflect the achievement of falah and maslahah, because there are still elements of zulm (injustice), economic coercion, and the unfulfilled principles of maqashid sharia, particularly the protection of property (hifz al-mal) and peace of mind (hifz al-nafs). This study emphasizes the need for reform of the marine product marketing system, strengthening sharia institutions, and fair pricing mechanisms to improve the welfare of fishermen holistically.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Financial Accounting Standards for Micro, Small, and Medium Entities (SAK EMKM) in the culinary business Nyushiin Medan as an effort to improve transparency and efficiency of financial management. The method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of financial reports from 2022 to 2024. The results indicate that the implementation of SAK EMKM is still partial and unsystematic. The prepared financial reports do not fully follow the standard format, particularly in the preparation of the Statement of Financial Position and Notes to the Financial Statements (CALK). However, transparency has increased through neater recording of daily transactions and the separation of personal and business finances. The implementation of a simplified income statement also encourages efficiency, as evidenced by the business's ability to reduce promotional costs and increase product profit margins. The main obstacles to the implementation of SAK EMKM are low accounting literacy and a lack of external mentoring. Therefore, support from the government, academics, and financial institutions is essential to encourage the comprehensive implementation of SAK EMKM-based accounting in the MSME sector.

Abstract

This research is a literature study that aims to examine in depth the relationship between the goals and learning materials of Indonesian Language and Literature in the context of 21st century education. This study is based on systemic functional linguistic theory, communicative theory, and constructivist approaches in language learning. Indonesian Language and Literature learning is seen not only as a means of mastering language skills, but also as a medium for personality development, critical thinking, and character formation of students. The results of the study show that the learning objectives of Indonesian Language and Literature include cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions that are oriented towards the development of communicative and appreciative competencies. Learning materials, on the other hand, function as a concrete representation of these goals, including listening, speaking, reading, writing, and appreciating literary works based on social and cultural contexts. Text-based learning and project-based learning have proven to be useful for improving students' literacy, critical thinking skills, and students' creative ability to understand language and literature as a whole. According to this study, the relationship between learning materials and objectives is integrative and functional. The goal shows how learning can be achieved, while the material helps to achieve it through meaningful learning experiences. Therefore, in the process of learning Indonesian language and literature, contextual, humanistic, and literary aspects must be emphasized so that students can not only use the language well, but also become sensitive to society and appreciate the human values contained in literary works.
