Abstract

Advances in digital technology have had a significant impact on the reading behavior of elementary school students. Student reading habits tend to decline due to the predominant use of digital devices for entertainment. Based on this situation, this community service activity was implemented with the aim of increasing students' interest in reading and literacy skills through a reading corner revitalization program at the UPT SDN 73 Bontorita 1 in Bontomangape Village, Galesong District, Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi. The program lasted two months and involved teachers, students, and the school's literacy community. The implementation method used a collaborative participatory approach that included preparation, counseling, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The reading corner revitalization involved designing an attractive reading space, providing printed and digital reading materials, and implementing literacy activities such as shared reading sessions and light book discussions. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in students' reading interest. Based on questionnaires and observations, the frequency of student visits to the reading corner increased by 62% after the revitalization. Seventy percent of students stated that the reading corner became more attractive and comfortable, and 80% of teachers reported increased student participation in reading activities. In addition, a school literacy community was formed that actively manages the reading corner on an ongoing basis. The benefits of this activity noto9oonly create a conducive literacy environment but also strengthen collaboration between teachers, students, and parents in fostering a reading culture. In conclusion, the reading corner revitalization activity successfully integrated physical and digital approaches to increase reading interest in elementary school students. A new aspect that emerged was the active involvement of the entire school community in developing the digital technology-based reading corner as a modern and sustainable literacy learning center.

Abstract

The workshop titled "Strengthening Anti-Bullying Character and Student Entrepreneurship through the Student Preneurship Program" was conducted as an effort to instill positive character values while fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among elementary school students. This activity was motivated by the increasing prevalence of bullying in elementary schools both verbal, social, and physical and students’ lack of awareness regarding empathy and social responsibility. The workshop was held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at UPT SDN 73 Bontorita I, Galesong District, Takalar Regency, involving academic speakers, teachers, parents, and KKN-DIK 2025 students. The implementation method consisted of three main stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. During the implementation stage, students were divided into four groups to create simple products containing anti-bullying campaign messages. The results indicated that students developed a deeper understanding of bullying and its effects while expressing positive messages through creative entrepreneurship. Furthermore, the involvement of teachers and parents strengthened the internalization of character values and enhanced peer communication. Therefore, this program serves as an effective educational innovation for promoting anti-bullying behavior and nurturing entrepreneurial skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has had a significant impact on family parenting patterns, particularly with young children's use of gadgets. Children often experience excessive use of digital devices without supervision, as many parents lack adequate digital literacy skills. This community service activity aims to improve parents' understanding and skills in managing their children's use of gadgets through a natural digital literacy approach. The activity was carried out at PAUD SPNF-SKB, Central Bengkulu Regency, on October 8-22, 2025, involving 26 parents of PAUD students. Participants engaged in hands-on workshops that demonstrated effective strategies for setting boundaries and fostering healthy tech habits. By empowering parents with knowledge, the initiative sought to create a more balanced relationship between children and their digital devices, ultimately enhancing family dynamics and children's overall well-being. The implementation methods included participatory counseling, interactive training, and assistance through home visits and online communication. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in parents' knowledge and attitudes regarding digital parenting. The average score on the pretest was 5.15 (42.9%), and it went up to 10.77 (89.8%) on the posttest. During the training phase, all participants successfully developed a digital family agreement containing rules for gadget use at home, with 77% committing to consistent implementation and 33% planning to implement it gradually. The results of the mentoring showed a decrease in the duration of children's gadget use from an average of 3-4 hours per day to 1-1.5 hours per day, as well as an increase in children's interest in non-digital activities such as reading, drawing, and playing outdoors. In addition, 77% of participants reported an increase in emotional closeness with their children after applying the principles of digital literacy based on human nature. This activity proves that the natural-based digital literacy approach is effective in improving parental competencies in the digital age while strengthening family relationships.

Abstract

This Community Service activity was carried out at SMP Negeri 13 Pontianak, West Kalimantan, based on the growing exposure of misleading information that students can easily access in the current digital era. Students at the lower secondary school level are in an early adolescent transition phase, making them vulnerable to receiving and distributing information without having adequate skills to assess its reliability. The activity aimed to raise awareness of the risks of false information, introduce ways to evaluate the quality of information through considerations of timeliness, content relevance, source authority, data accuracy, and communicative purpose, and develop critical thinking skills in understanding various digital content they encounter. The implementation consisted of interactive presentations, group discussions, simulated video viewing, hands-on practice using fact-checking sites, and the creation of digital campaign posters as practical application. All activities carried out on April 25, 2025 were attended by 33 students divided into small groups to facilitate guidance. The results showed a significant improvement in digital literacy skills, indicated by an increase in the average understanding score from 67.88 at the beginning to 90.00 at the end. Each group successfully produced a digital campaign poster that was published through the school’s social media as a form of contribution to promoting responsible information sharing. The main outputs, including the final report and published news coverage, were completed, while additional outputs such as a submitted scientific article and a copyrighted digital module were also produced. This activity demonstrates that engaging students directly in training strengthens their critical awareness and encourages active participation in nurturing a healthier information ecosystem.

Abstract

One of the problems in education in Indonesia is the lack of knowledge among students about the latest technology. One example is Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, which, if applied by students, can increase their independence in learning. However, there are still many students who do not understand Artificial Intelligence technology and its application in the independent learning process. This is also the case for students at MA Ma'arif NU Aassa'adah. In response to this, the mathematics education study program at Qomaruddin University conducted a community service program by providing solutions in the form of an introduction to and training in the use of Artificial Intelligence technology for student independence in learning. The two Artificial Intelligence technologies introduced are Gemini and Photomath. With this community service program, it is hoped that students will be able to apply the use of Artificial Intelligence technology in the independent learning process, thereby increasing their independence in learning.

Abstract

The number of Qur’anic teachers (Guru Mengaji) in North Sinjai District has increased significantly each year. However, a major challenge remains in their classroom management skills, as well as the teaching methods used, which are still largely monotonous. Many Qur’anic educational institutions continue to rely on traditional methods, highlighting the need for innovation to improve instructional quality. Therefore, training and mentoring programs were conducted for Qur’anic teachers at the district level in North Sinjai to enhance their competencies in teaching the Qur’an and Islamic values to students (santri). To address these issues, the program employed training and mentoring approaches in collaboration with DPK BKPRMI of North Sinjai District. The results of the program show that 80% of Qur’anic teachers demonstrated an understanding of the materials and were ready to apply them in real teaching practices. Meanwhile, 50% of the participants were able to directly practice classroom management, implement learning methods, and apply evaluation techniques through microteaching activities. In addition, the program led to the formation of a Qur’anic Teachers Community Group in North Sinjai District, which facilitates communication and information sharing among teachers.
