Rengganis Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat merupakan jurnal yang diterbitkan oleh Program Studi S1 Pendidikan Matematika FKIP Universitas Mataram yang memuat artikel-artikel ilmiah mengenai berbagai aktivitas pengabdian dan pemberdayaan masyarakat dari berbagai disiplin ilmu. Abstract

Digital transformation in primary education requires teachers to adopt more innovative and adaptive learning methods. This Community Service (PKM) aims to enhance the competence of primary school teachers in utilizing interactive gamification-based learning media combined with a deep learning approach. The activity was conducted at SD Negeri Ulee Paya, Pulo Aceh District, involving teachers from the school. The implementation methods included surveys, counseling, face-to-face training, practice creating media using the Wordwall and Gimkid platforms, and an introduction to implementing simple deep learning to personalize learning materials. Evaluation was carried out through pre-tests and post-tests, observation of practice, and satisfaction questionnaires. The results showed an increase in participants' average knowledge, from 65 to 90, with 90% of teachers at Ulee Paya State Elementary School understanding the concept of gamification and the basic principles of deep learning. Teachers can create learning media using Wordwall and Gmkit applications. This activity increased motivation and understanding of technology among teachers at Ulee Paya State Elementary School, while also opening opportunities to apply adaptive learning at the elementary school level. Future recommendations include ongoing mentoring, the provision of computing infrastructure, and policy support to enable the widespread implementation of this innovation.

Abstract

Food safety is a vital aspect of food service, especially in higher education facilities, which tend to have high food consumption rates and involve diverse consumer groups. Low awareness and suboptimal implementation of food safety practices by canteen managers or food handlers can increase the risk of foodborne illnesses that have an impact on the health of the academic community. Therefore, this community service activity was carried out with the aim of increasing the knowledge, awareness, and skills of Mataram University canteen managers in implementing food safety principles appropriately and sustainably. The methods used in this activity included interactive workshops on the basic concepts of food safety, introduction to the types and sources of potential food hazards (biological, chemical, and physical) in the food processing process, and the application of the five keys to food safety. The effectiveness of the program was evaluated through pre-tests and post-tests to measure the increase in participants' knowledge, as well as observations of participants' participation and enthusiasm during the activity. The evaluation results showed an increase in participants' level of understanding from the moderate category of 56% to the high category of 81%. These findings indicate that the community service activity had a positive impact in increasing the capacity of canteen managers, supporting the establishment of a healthier and more safe canteen environment, and contributing to the prevention of foodborne diseases on campus.

Abstract

This community service program aims to strengthen the capacity of women entrepreneurs in implementing sharia-based business management. The participants consisted of 20 women from Aisyiyah Kenongo Branch, Sidoarjo, who are engaged in micro-scale businesses. Although the participants had basic knowledge of sharia business principles, their implementation in daily business practices was still limited, particularly in terms of contract (akad) application, financial record-keeping, and business development strategies. The program employed a participatory approach through socialization, training, and mentoring activities. The materials covered fundamental principles of sharia business, transaction contracts, simple financial management, and the utilization of digital technology to support business activities. The results indicate a significant improvement in participants’ understanding of sharia-based business practices, as well as positive changes in their business behavior, including increased transparency in transactions and the adoption of basic financial recording systems. Furthermore, the program enhanced participants’ confidence and encouraged collaboration among members. Therefore, this community service initiative contributes to the sustainable empowerment of women’s economic activities based on sharia values and adaptive digital practices.

Abstract

Character development is a crucial aspect in preparing students to face the challenges of globalization. Strong character traits are essential for enabling students to adapt and engage positively within their social environment. This community service program aims to strengthen character education among junior high school students through science learning based on local wisdom. The program was carried out at SMPN 9 Magelang using a one-group pretest–posttest design involving 32 seventh-grade students. The activities were conducted over three sessions: (1) administering a pretest and delivering material on the local wisdom of Mount Tidar; (2) deepening the discussion on ecosystems and energy flow in Mount Tidar through group-based activities; and (3) group presentations and administration of the posttest. Integrating scientific concepts with local wisdom was intended to instill character values such as responsibility, environmental awareness, collaboration, and appreciation for local culture. The results show that students participated enthusiastically and actively in discussions and presentations throughout the program. Contextualized science learning that incorporates local wisdom was proven effective in enhancing students’ understanding of ecosystems and energy flow while simultaneously strengthening their positive character traits. Overall, this program demonstrates that local wisdom can serve as an effective medium for educators to internalize character values through science learning at the junior high school level.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman konsep dan tingginya kecemasan matematika siswa. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah membentuk Komunitas Belajar Matematika Kreatif bagi siswa SMP–SMA di Asrama Putri Seraphine. Subjek kegiatan berjumlah 18 siswa yang dilibatkan dalam pendampingan intensif selama dua bulan dengan mengintegrasikan pendekatan guided discovery learning, problem-based learning, dan math talk learning community. Kegiatan diawali dengan pemberian pretest untuk mengetahui kemampuan awal siswa, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan aktivitas pembelajaran kolaboratif berupa diskusi kelompok, pemecahan masalah kontekstual, permainan edukatif, serta tutor sebaya. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui posttest dan observasi selama kegiatan berlangsung. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman matematika siswa, dengan rata-rata skor meningkat dari 14,06 (38,0%) menjadi 27,83 (75,23%). Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan peningkatan keaktifan, kepercayaan diri, dan keterlibatan dalam pembelajaran. Namun, kemampuan penalaran matematis siswa masih belum berkembang secara optimal, terutama dalam menjelaskan langkah penyelesaian secara sistematis. Dengan demikian, pembentukan komunitas belajar matematika kreatif terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan keterlibatan siswa. Namun, diperlukan upaya lanjutan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan penalaran matematis secara lebih optimal.
