Abstract

Teacher career development programmes are an important strategy for improving teaching competence and education quality. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of teacher career development programmes in improving teaching competence through a literature review of various relevant studies. Data were obtained from scientific articles discussing the impact of teacher training, Teacher Working Group (KKG) activities, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) policies, and various other teacher professional development strategies. The results of the study show that teacher career development programmes contribute positively to improving professional and pedagogical competence, teacher motivation, and the quality of the learning process in the classroom. However, a number of studies also reveal obstacles in their implementation, including suboptimal needs analysis, the incompatibility of training materials with learning practice needs, and limited continuous evaluation of the programme's impact. These findings emphasise that the success of teacher career development is largely determined by comprehensive programme planning, institutional support from schools, and the continuity of mentoring after training.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and identify mathematical elements found in the historical stone graves located in Bukaregha Village, Loura District, Southwest Sumba Regency. These stone graves are cultural heritage artifacts of the Sumbanese people, possessing significant historical, philosophical, and geometric values. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with an ethnomathematical approach, focusing on the relationship between local culture and mathematical concepts. Data were collected through field observations, interviews with traditional leaders, and documentation of the stone grave structures. The findings reveal that the structure of the stone graves contains various mathematical elements, such as geometric shapes (squares, rectangles, blocks, and cubes) as well as concepts of length and volume measurement. These results indicate that the Sumbanese community has intuitively applied mathematical principles within their cultural practices and traditional architectural designs. This study is expected to serve as a reference for the development of ethnomathematics-based learning, particularly in integrating mathematics with local wisdom to enhance relevance and meaningful learning for students.

Abstract

Rapid globalization has had a major impact on social and cultural changes that can weaken elementary school students' tolerance of diversity. However, as a multicultural nation, Indonesia needs a generation that is able to appreciate differences from an early age. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of introducing cultural diversity in fostering tolerance among elementary school students in the era of globalization. The research method uses a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach by examining ten relevant articles based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results of the study show that diversity-based learning can improve students' understanding of national identity and foster mutual respect in social interactions. The role of teachers, family support, and the use of digital learning media also strengthen the internalization of tolerance values in students. Thus, introducing cultural diversity is an important strategy in shaping a tolerant character in the younger generation facing global challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to apply the Simplex method within the framework of operations research to optimise the distribution of student learning time at MIN 2 OKU, particularly in Mathematics, Indonesian Language, and Science subjects, which have different levels of difficulty. The research uses a quantitative approach with a mathematical modelling design based on Linear Programming. Data was obtained through observation of student learning activities, interviews with teachers, distribution of questionnaires to students, and documentation of learning outcomes as the basis for determining the objective function and model constraints. The collected data was analysed by constructing a mathematical model, which was then solved using the Simplex method to obtain the optimal solution. The results of the analysis show that the most optimal allocation of learning time is 2 hours for Mathematics, 0.5 hours for Indonesian Language, and 0.5 hours for Science. These findings provide an objective picture of more efficient and proportional learning time management according to student needs. Thus, the Simplex method has been proven to be effectively applicable in the context of primary education as a data-based decision-making tool to support more focused and rational learning planning.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the application of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapy in improving communication and interaction skills through eye contact in children with autism at SDK Santa Maria Assumpta, Kupang City. The problems underlying this study are the children's low focus when communicating, difficulty responding to calls, and minimal eye contact when receiving instructions. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach. Data collection was conducted through participatory observation of the therapy implementation and interviews with therapists and school officials. Data were analysed using the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. ABA was implemented through focus training with word and movement imitation, directing the child's head to establish eye contact with the therapist, and giving simple instructions that were gradually increased. Each appropriate response was reinforced through verbal praise. The results of the study showed that the application of ABA therapy was able to increase the duration and consistency of eye contact, imitation skills, compliance with instructions, and the development of basic academic skills such as writing and puzzle solving. These findings indicate that ABA therapy is effective as a structured intervention to support the development of communication and interaction in children with autism in primary school settings.
