Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of peer group interaction and economic literacy on the hedonistic lifestyle of students at Universitas Negeri Makassar. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive design. The population consisted of all students at Universitas Negeri Makassar, with a sample of 83 students selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that peer group interaction has a positive and significant effect on students’ hedonistic lifestyle, while economic literacy has a negative and significant effect. Simultaneously, peer group interaction and economic literacy significantly influence the hedonistic lifestyle of students. These findings suggest that peer influence plays a role as an external driving factor, whereas economic literacy functions as an internal controlling factor in shaping students’ consumption behavior. Therefore, strengthening economic literacy is essential to reduce the tendency toward hedonistic lifestyles among university students.

Abstract

Discipline in improving performance as well as compliance of Human Resources (HR) within an organization. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach through literature review on the concepts of work ethics, discipline, and their relationship with employee performance and compliance. Data collection was conducted through literature review (library research), which includes: Books, national and international journals. Data analysis was carried out qualitatively with stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The analysis results show that professional ethics can serve as a guideline for employees to act consistently, transparently, and accountably in their work, thereby producing more effective performance. In addition, disciplinary systems such as the provision of rewards and punishments, clear work procedures, and periodic performance evaluations have been proven to strengthen employee compliance with organizational rules. Professional ethics applied consistently can create a positive work culture and support the achievement of organizational goals. This study implies that organizations need to strengthen the code of ethics, increase the socialization of work rules, and develop an effective supervision system so that employee compliance and performance can continue to improve.

Abstract

MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) play an important role in the Indonesian economy, including in Sukarare Village, Central Lombok, which is famous for producing traditional woven fabrics of the Sasak Tribe. Marketing processes in this village are still conventional, so market reach is limited. This study aims to implement a website as a medium for information and marketing of woven products to increase presence in the digital market while preserving local culture. The method used is the waterfall system development, which includes needs analysis, design, creation, and testing. Data was collected through observation, interviews with MSME actors, and literature studies. The research resulted in a PHP and MySQL-based website with features for UMKM profiles, product catalogs, order contact, and activity documentation. Alpha testing showed that all features function as expected for both owners and customers. This website is effective as a means of information and digital marketing for Tenun Sukarare UMKM and can be used as a web-based sales transaction information system for woven fabrics.

Abstract

The purpose of this investigation was to tackle the problem of students feeling sleepy in English class at Nurul Jadid Senior High School by using a Think-Pair-Share (TPS) method along with audio-visual resources. The methodology utilized was Classroom Action Research, carried out across a pair of cycles, with each cycle encompassing planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. Thirty-two students from the eleventh grade took part in the study. The methods for gathering information involved observation forms, scales for rating sleepiness, conversations, and records. The findings demonstrated a noticeable lessening of student drowsiness. Initial information prior to the cycles showed that 59.4% of the students were sleepy, but this fell to 28.1% in the first cycle and then even further to just 9.4% in the second cycle. There was a significant rise in student involvement, with active participation jumping from 34.4% up to 84.4%. Using TPS alongside audio-visual tools is a fresh way to deal with sleepiness in the classroom by bringing together working as a group with stimulation for multiple senses.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the types of motifs on woven fabrics originating from the Southwest Sumba region at the Cultural House. This research was conducted through observation and documentation of traditional Sumba woven fabrics available at the Cultural House. Documentation was carried out to obtain several real photos of Sumba woven fabrics at the Cultural House using qualitative research with an exploratory-descriptive approach. Data collection techniques included interviews, observation, and documentation, while data analysis techniques included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The elements contained are geometric patterns. Many motifs are composed of geometric patterns such as straight lines, parallel lines, diamond shapes, and triangles. Sumba woven fabrics are known for motifs rich in philosophical meaning and also containing mathematical elements. These concepts are mainly related to the geometry of flat planes. In Sumba woven cloth, there are patterns called the main pattern and the border pattern. The main pattern is the primary motif that becomes the focus and attention of the weaving being created. The main pattern usually has a larger, more complex design and contains more twists than the other patterns. In addition, there is also the border pattern, which is a motif that frames, surrounds, or sets boundaries for the main pattern. The size and complexity of the border pattern are usually smaller and simpler compared to the main pattern. The border pattern typically consists of lines, dots, or simple geometric shapes.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using the CAKE application in improving the English language skills of Bumigora University students. This research was conducted through a Classroom Action Research (CAR) model, which consists of two cycles. Each cycle involves four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection, involving 40 students of the Information Technology Study Program. Data collection techniques used in this study were a Speaking Ability Test, Observation, Questionnaires, and Interviews. The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' speaking skills after using the CAKE application as a learning medium. The average pre-test score of 54.90 indicated that students' initial abilities were still in the low category. After the implementation of the action in cycle I, the average score increased to 66.82, indicating initial improvements in the aspects of pronunciation, fluency, and students' confidence in speaking. In cycle II, the average score increased again significantly to 79.28, indicating that the consistent use of the CAKE application had a positive impact on the development of students' speaking skills. Thus, this study concludes that CAKE is an effective and relevant digital learning medium in supporting the mastery of EFL students' speaking skills, especially in the context of technology-based learning in higher education.
