Abstract

The rapid development of technology brings significant changes in education, including in Islamic Religious Education  at the primary level. The integration of technology in Islamic Education learning offers benefits such as interactive methods and wide access to information. However, the main challenge that arises is how to optimally utilise technology without neglecting Islamic values, avoiding misuse, and maintaining a balance between technological advancement and Islamic moral principles. This research aims to explore optimal strategies in integrating technology with Islamic values in basic education. The main focus is to understand the readiness of educators and learners in utilising Islamic-based technology, as well as how the curriculum can accommodate the synergy between technology and Islamic moral education. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method. Various literatures were analysed, including commentaries, scientific journals, and primary sources such as the Qur'an and Hadith. The research also reviewed best practices in the application of technology in Islamic educational institutions. Data were collected from various academic sources that discuss the integration of technology in Islamic education, as well as the results of analyses of digital-based teaching policies and practices in Islamic primary schools. The results show that technology can be an effective tool in Islamic education learning if used wisely and in accordance with Islamic principles. Educator supervision, the use of Islamic interactive applications, and a curriculum that supports Islamic values are the main factors for the success of this integration. With a balanced approach, technology can increase the effectiveness of learning without shifting the main goal of Islamic Education, which is the formation of Islamic character and morals.

Abstract

Learning design plays an important role in learning in primary schools. Learning design in primary schools is a planning process carried out by teachers to achieve learning objectives. The independent curriculum provides opportunities for schools, teachers and students to innovate and improvise in learning. The purpose of this study was to describe how teachers design learning in the independent curriculum at the primary school level. The research aims to contribute to improving the quality of learning in primary schools under the Kurikulum Merdeka. This study was conducted at MIN Kota Jayapura and SDIT Qurrta A'yun Abepura, located in Jayapura. These locations were chosen because both schools have implemented the Kurikulum Merdeka since 2022. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological research design to find several things related to learning design in the Kurikulum Merdeka. The results of the study indicate that in designing learning in primary schools, several principles need to be considered, namely (1) Learning must be oriented towards students; (2) Learning must be oriented towards learning objectives; (3) Learning must be oriented towards learning experiences; (4) Learning must be oriented towards sustainability. The stages in designing learning in primary schools in the Kurikulum Merdeka include: (1) Analysing student characteristics; (2) Formulating learning objectives; (3) Determining learning models, methods and media; (4) Developing assessments.

Abstract

This research analyses the application of various approaches in the learning process in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) in Indonesia, with a focus on improving the quality of Islamic education at the primary level. Using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, this study collects, analyses and integrates research results related to the application of effective teaching methods and their impact on the quality of student learning outcomes. The main findings of this study show that activity-based approaches and real-life experiences, as well as the integration of technology in learning, can improve students' motivation and understanding of Islamic subject matter. The use of interactive learning media and e-learning provides a space for students to learn flexibly and in-depth, as well as assisting teachers in delivering materials in a more interesting and understandable way. In addition, this research also highlights the importance of the teacher's role in applying effective methods. Teachers with good pedagogic competence can create a conducive learning atmosphere, which has a positive impact on the quality of education. The involvement of parents and the community was also found to have a major effect on the quality of education in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, by supporting students' character development. However, despite the successes, this study found challenges related to limited facilities and infrastructure, especially in rural areas, which hinder the implementation of innovative methods. In conclusion, this study illustrates that student-centred approaches, teachers' professional development and parents' and communities' involvement are crucial to improving the quality of Islamic education in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah, although challenges such as limited distribution of resources and facilities are still major obstacles that need to be overcome.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of students' numeracy skills by using the jaritmatika method and the Pythagorean multiplication table on student learning outcomes significantly in mathematics lessons on student multiplication operations. The method used in this research is the quasi experimental method of experimental research which is basically the same as cause-and-effect research but is carried out using pseudo-experimental methods. This research was conducted at SDN Sungai Jingah 5 with saturated sampling of grade III. The results showed that the numeracy skills of experimental grade students using the jaritmatika method and tables can be seen from the average results of 82.13 are in the "Very Good" qualification, while the numeracy skills of control grade students using the interactive discussion method 73.87 are in the "Good" qualification. Based on the calculation with the Independent Simple T Test "T Test" with asymp, Sig (2-tailed) is 0.041, because 0.041 <0.05 then H 0is rejected and H ais accepted so it can be concluded that there is a significant difference in the learning outcomes of the ability to count multiplication of the experimental grade (using the jaritmatika method and table) and the control grade (using interactive discussions). The implication of this research can be used as an alternative method of learning mathematics calculation for elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the differences in NSS learning in the independent curriculum, which was originally science and social studies learning in the 2013 curriculum. This study uses a literature research method. The results of the study show that the combination of science and social studies into NSS is essentially an effort by the ministry to improve the quality of education. There are several new terms in NSS learning, such as the existence of learning outcomes for each phase, which were previously learning competencies, and the existence of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5). However, apart from these new terms, it seems that the ministry needs to look at things from a different angle. For example, the ministry should focus more on the welfare of teachers. It would be wiser for the ministry to strive to improve the welfare of teachers by working with honorary teachers from all schools in Indonesia to make them more prosperous, rather than having to create a curriculum renewal programme.

Abstract

Bullying in elementary schools is a critical issue within the context of global education, as it directly impacts children's social, emotional, and cognitive development. This study conducts a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of Scopus-indexed scientific publications from 2014 to 2024 to identify developmental factors associated with bullying in children aged 6–12, the most frequently reported forms of bullying, the resulting psychological impacts, and intervention approaches deemed effective. The review process adhered to the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) protocol, utilizing data retrieval via Scopus with keyword combinations related to bullying, elementary school, developmental psychology, and peer relations. Out of 31,494 articles identified in the initial phase, only 32 satisfied all inclusion criteria. The main findings indicate that emotional regulation, empathy, peer group dynamics, and the quality of the school climate are the developmental dimensions most influential in the emergence of bullying behavior. Bullying in elementary schools manifests in various forms, involving physical, verbal, and social aggression, as well as cyberbullying and emotional bullying aimed at harming or dominating other students. The effects of bullying are evident in decreased self-esteem, anxiety, depression, social withdrawal, and disrupted social identity formation. This study underscores the necessity of development-based interventions, such as Social Emotional Learning, strengthening the role of teachers, and implementing school-based prevention programs. Furthermore, the findings reveal that physical, verbal, social, and emotional bullying are the most prevalent forms among elementary school children, whereas cyberbullying is less prevalent due to the lower usage of digital devices among this age group. The authors provide theoretical foundations and practical implications for strengthening anti-bullying policies in elementary schools, including Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze efforts to strengthen religious moderation in the State Islamic Religious College (PTKIN) environment in North Sumatra through the communication strategies applied. Religious moderation is a very relevant concept in maintaining harmony and harmony between religious communities, especially in the context of campuses that have diverse student backgrounds. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis to identify the communication strategies applied, the obstacles faced, and the efforts made to overcome these obstacles. The results of the study indicate that PTKIN in North Sumatra have implemented various communication strategies such as curriculum integration based on religious moderation, inclusive learning methods, and the use of social media as a means of continuous education. However, there are still several obstacles, including a lack of in-depth understanding of religious moderation, social and cultural resistance, and limited resources. To overcome these obstacles, continuous training, development of a more relevant curriculum, and optimization of the use of digital technology are needed. This study contributes to the development of more effective communication strategies in strengthening religious moderation in higher education environments, especially in PTKIN North Sumatra.

Abstract

This study examines the application of Burrhus Frederic Skinner’s Operant Conditioning theory in shaping the personalities of students in Grade V of Muhammadiyah Biak Elementary School. This theory emphasises the importance of positive and negative reinforcement to encourage desired behaviour, but its application in this school is still intuitive and inconsistent. Positive reinforcement through verbal praise has proven effective in increasing student participation, although some students prefer concrete reinforcement such as stickers or physical rewards. Negative reinforcement, such as exemption from tasks, is rarely applied systematically, while positive punishment through verbal reprimands is often ineffective, especially for sensitive students. This study found that the formation of student discipline and responsibility is beginning to be seen, but its effectiveness is hampered by the lack of a consistent and structured reinforcement system. Therefore, further efforts are needed to create a more structured, consistent, and tailored reward and punishment system to strengthen the formation of desired behaviour in the long term.
