Abstract

This article discusses the role of interactive media in learning Natural and Social Sciences (ESS) for grade 4 students through literature study method. The research shows that interactive media, such as videos, digital simulations and technology-based quizzes, can improve the quality of learning by making the learning process more dynamic, interesting and effective. It facilitates students' understanding of complex concepts, increases learning motivation, and supports project-based learning that is relevant to the IPAS curriculum. In addition, interactive media creates a collaborative learning environment, provides flexibility in learning time, and provides real-time formative feedback. However, the implementation of this media faces challenges such as limited technological infrastructure and lack of teacher training. To overcome these obstacles, collaboration between the government, schools and related parties is needed. With the right support, interactive media can help students develop 21st century skills, such as critical thinking, collaboration and digital literacy. This article concludes that interactive media has an important role in improving the effectiveness of IPAS learning, making it more relevant and in line with the needs of the digital era.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the impact of the Cap Go Meh Festival on income in the culinary business of the Singkawang City community and the supporting and inhibiting factors of the Cap Go Meh Festival that have an impact on income. This research uses a qualitative approach and case study. Interviews and documentation were used as data collection tools. Seven food vendors who sell during the Cap Go Meh Festival in Singkawang City became the main informants of the research, and one supporting informant, namely the Head of the Tourism Division of the Tourism, Youth and Sports Office of Singkawang City. Based on the results of the study, culinary businesses in Singkawang City benefited from this Festival. Culinary business income, increased production, additional employees, and economic involvement of local communities are some examples of impacts that can be seen. The main factors that support each other to create a sustainable and thriving business environment during the festival are government support, high visitor numbers, effective cultural promotion, tourist attendance, and the right location. Factors such as weather, visitor safety and intense competition are some of the barriers that can affect the income of Singkawang City's culinary industry during the Cap Go Meh festival. Nonetheless, the Cap Go Meh festival has the potential to boost Singkawang City's overall economy, as businesses and people living nearby benefit.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to characterize how the process skills method has affected the writing abilities of State Elementary School 17 North Pontianak grade V students. A quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design was the methodology chosen for this study. The population consisted of 27 pupils from class V A and 27 students from class V C. Since all individuals of the population were employed as samples, the sampling strategy used in this study was nonprobability sampling with saturation sampling type. A written test in the form of an essay or description serves as both the data collection tool and the measurement approach. According to the data analysis, the mean score of the experimental class on the post-test was 69.09, while the mean score of the control class was 53.926. Applying the process skills approach to students"™ writing skills was effective, as shown by the results of hypothesis testing using t-tests. This resulted in tcount = 9.01 and ttable = 2.06 for dk = 52, with a significance level of α = 5%. This indicates that Ha is accepted. According to the effect size (ES) calculation results, ES = 0.38, which meets the moderate standards. Therefore, it can be said that the use of the process skills method improves the writing abilities of State Elementary School 17 North Pontianak grade V students.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of problem-based learning model assisted by the Matific application This study investigated the impact of problem-based learning (PBL) with Matific application support on fifth-grade students' critical thinking in mathematics at State Elementary School 33 West Pontianak. Employing a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group, the research targeted all fifth-grade students. Samples comprised 26 students from class V A (experimental) and 28 from class V B (control). Data were gathered through essay-based written tests, assessing students' critical thinking. Post-test averages were compared between the experimental and control groups. A Mann-Whitney U Test revealed a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a statistically significant effect of PBL with Matific on critical thinking. The effect size, calculated at 0.70, signified a moderate impact. These findings support the hypothesis that PBL integrated with Matific positively influences critical thinking abilities in mathematics. In essence, this research demonstrates the effectiveness of technology-enhanced, problem-based learning in developing critical thinking skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

Low student enthusiasm in reading, a lack of diversity in teaching approaches, and a shortage of learning support materials are only a few of the difficulties faced by Indonesian language instruction in primary schools. Learning innovation is critically needed to address these issues and enhance the caliber and efficacy of the teaching and learning process. This study uses a library research approach to find and examine different types of innovation in Indonesian language learning. Scientific publications, books, and pertinent education policy documents over the past 10 years were the sources of the data. According to the study's findings, students' literacy and motivation to learn are enhanced by the use of digital technology, project-based learning strategies, and the incorporation of visual and interactive media. Furthermore, contextual and collaborative learning techniques increase students' engagement with the curriculum. The conversation emphasizes the necessity of teacher readiness in adopting innovation, including digital competence and pedagogical abilities, as well as support for school infrastructure and regulations. The study's conclusion demonstrates that implementing innovation that is pertinent and appropriate for the learning environment can improve the efficacy of learning Indonesian at the elementary school level and support the long-term, comprehensive development of students' literacy competency.

Abstract

The teaching of Indonesian in elementary schools is one area of education that is drastically changing in the digital age. It has been demonstrated that incorporating technology into language instruction improves instructional efficacy, enriches students' literacy experiences, and makes learning more engaging and individualized. By looking at numerous scholarly sources from the previous five years about the use of technology in Indonesian language learning, this study uses a literature review methodology. The findings of the study demonstrate that the use of technology, including digital libraries, augmented reality (AR), e-books, and applications based on artificial intelligence, helps students improve their language proficiency in speaking, writing, listening, and reading. Additionally, technology contributes to learning assessment by enabling more efficient and objective evaluations through digital platforms. Nonetheless, there are still issues with technology adoption, including the digital divide, infrastructure preparedness, and teachers' proficiency in making the most of technology. Thus, in order to enhance the quality of Indonesian language instruction in elementary schools, a thorough approach to technology integration is required.
