Abstract

Chemistry materials that are memorized and abstract in large quantities tend to make students bored and lack enthusiasm for learning. Video animation offers innovation to make learning fun and allow students to understand the material quickly. This research aims to create animation videos based on Joyful Learning principles related to hydrocarbon materials to enhance students' interest in learning. This research is R&D research using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), but is limited to the developing stage. Products are evaluated by material experts, media specialists, reviewers, and student responses. The tools used included product quality assessment sheets and student feedback forms. The assessment results of the animated video quality by material experts were 90%, with very good criteria, media experts rated it 95%, also with very good criteria, and reviewers scored it 92.5%, still with very good criteria. High school students in grade XI responded positively, with a 95% approval rate. The data suggests that the developed animated videos can serve as an alternative learning medium, enhancing students' interest in learning.

Abstract

The Qur'an is a spiritual guide that contains profound logical insights and mathematical regularities that are essential for humanity to understand. However, empirically, the integration of logic and the regularity of rational numbers present in the verses of the Qur'an has not been widely acknowledged in mathematics education. This study aims to explore the integration of mathematical logic through rational numbers found in Q.S. Al-Baqarah and Q.S. An-Nisa. A descriptive method was employed, utilizing literature study research. The results indicate that verse 237 of Q.S. Al-Baqarah integrates mathematical logic with rational numbers, specifically in the context of dowry. Verses 11, 12, and 176 of Q.S. An-Nisa, which address inheritance division, also demonstrate this integration. The presence of mathematical logic related to rational numbers in the Qur'an implicitly contributes to the development of systematic thinking skills, which are essential for solving real-life problems. This integration serves as a rationale for modern mathematics education and strengthens numerical literacy and rationality among humanity.

Abstract

This study develops and validates an assessment tool to measure middle school students' understanding of global warming. The instrument includes 21 multiple-choice questions covering key concepts like the greenhouse effect climate change and mitigation strategies. After expert validation and pilot testing with 63 students, the tool demonstrated high reliability (Cronbach's alpha = 0.71). The validation process revealed that while most items effectively assessed various aspects of conceptual mastery, some items failed to meet the validity criteria due to issues such as ambiguous phrasing, inappropriate cognitive difficulty for the target grade, and potential confusion in question structure. Despite these challenges, the instrument shows promise as a reliable tool for evaluating students"™ understanding of global warming concepts. This research highlights the importance of ongoing revisions to enhance item clarity, adjust difficulty levels, and ensure alignment with students"™ cognitive development. The tool offers educators a valuable resource for assessing and improving students' understanding of global warming, ultimately fostering greater awareness and readiness to address climate challenges.
