Abstract

One of the health problems that has become a serious problem recently is hypertension, which is often referred to as the silent killer because it often occurs without symptoms. Hypertension generally occurs in old age. However, several studies show that hypertension can appear in adolescence and its prevalence has increased in recent years. Many people do not realize this, that hypertension that occurs during adolescence will continue into adulthood and increase the risk of morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between participation in Posbindu PTM and the quality of life of hypertension sufferers at the Krui Health Center, Pesisir Barat Regency in 2024. A type of quantitative research with an analytical survey research design with a cross sectional approach. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling with a sample of 95 respondents. The research instrument used was in the form of a questionnaire. This research has been carried out in July 2024 in West Coast Regency. The data analysis used was the spearman's rho test. The results of the study found that there was a relationship between the participation of the PTM posbindu and the quality of life of hypertension patients in the work area of the Krui Health Center with a p-value of 0.000 (p-value < 0.05). Elderly people with hypertension should regularly participate in PTM posbindu activities as an effort to control hypertension and help improve the quality of life of the elderly.

Abstract

Stunting is the result of an interaction between lack of nutritional intake and increased nutritional needs, which has an impact on physical growth and cognitive development, as well as increasing the risk of chronic diseases. In Indonesia, the prevalence of stunting in 2023 will reach 20.8%, still far from the target of 14% in 2024. Adolescence is an important phase to build awareness of nutritional status, because adolescents who understand nutrition can prepare themselves for a healthy pregnancy and reduce the risk of stunting in the next generation. Objective: this study aims to explore the understanding and needs of adolescents related to stunting prevention. This study uses a phenomenological approach to explore adolescents' understanding of stunting prevention programs in Gunungkidul Regency, Yogyakarta. The subjects of the study were 12 adolescent girls aged 12-15 years, selected by purposive sampling based on their experiences. Data collection methods include in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The validity of the data was obtained through triangulation and checking with informants. The results of FGD and interviews with adolescents identified three categories of needs: knowledge, behavior, and health conditions of adolescents. Limited access to nutritional information and unhealthy lifestyles increase the risk of stunting. The importance of balanced knowledge and clean living behaviors to support adolescent health is emphasized, especially in preventing future health problems. The social and cultural environment plays an important role in shaping adolescent behavior. The provision of easily accessible nutritional information, as well as support from families and communities, is urgently needed to support the role of adolescents in preventing stunting and ensuring their health and that of future generations.

Abstract

In 2021, diarrhea services in Pesawaran Regency, Lampung Province, ranked 9th among 15 provinces, with 1,304 cases reported and a service coverage of only 14.5%. A pre-survey at UPT Gedong Tataan Health Center showed that toddler diarrhea service coverage was low, decreasing from 14.24% in 2020 to 7.05% in 2021. Objective: This study aims to assess the service flow of the P2 diarrhea program for toddlers in the working area of UPT Gedong Tataan Health Center, Pesawaran Regency, in 2023. Method: A qualitative descriptive approach was employed to gather detailed insights into the program's implementation. Results: The findings indicate that the P2 diarrhea program for toddlers at UPT Puskesmas Gedong Tataan is not functioning optimally. The screening system, counseling, and health promotion activities are not regularly scheduled, leading to low community awareness and knowledge among mothers of toddlers with diarrhea. Additionally, the diarrhea incident reporting system is inadequate and primarily reactive to outbreaks rather than proactive. Conclusions: To enhance the effectiveness of the P2 diarrhea program for toddlers, it is crucial to improve the scheduling of health education initiatives and strengthen the reporting and screening systems. This will help increase community engagement and knowledge, ultimately reducing the incidence of diarrhea among toddlers.
