Abstract

MSMEs in Mario Pulana Village, Maros Regency, face the challenge of low competitiveness due to limited business legality and visual identity. This community service aims to strengthen the capacity of 44 MSME actors by implementing four strategic pillars: product quality, technology, marketing, and human resource development. The method is a participatory approach that includes field observations, entrepreneurship seminars, and technical assistance with registering Business Identification Numbers (NIBs) through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, as well as creating banner promotional materials. The results of the service show a significant shift from the informal to the formal sector, with the issuance of legal documents to partners. In addition, strengthening visual branding has increased professionalism and business visibility. The program significantly fosters new awareness of the importance of managerial aspects and legal compliance, while identifying local leaders as agents of change to ensure the sustainability of economic transformation at the village level.

Abstract

This community service program aimed to enhance senior high school English teachers’ competence in designing contextual learning integrated with local wisdom values. The participants consisted of 32 teachers who were members of the English Teachers’ Association (MGMP) in Padang City. The program was conducted at SMAN 6 Padang from September to October 2023. The implementation employed the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach combined with andragogical principles through five stages: opening session, experience sharing, concept reinforcement, interactive discussion, and reflection. The results indicated highly positive responses from the participants toward both the materials and the implementation process. Participant satisfaction reached 100%, demonstrating that the program was highly relevant to teachers’ professional needs. Therefore, this community service activity effectively strengthened the competence of senior high school English teachers in Padang in developing learning designs that integrate local wisdom values.

Abstract

Limited digital literacy and restricted access to online marketing have resulted in seaweed products in Bontojai Subdistrict, Bantaeng Regency, being marketed conventionally, with a narrow reach and low added value. This community engagement initiative aims to accelerate product competitiveness through the digital transformation of marketing, utilising online platforms such as e-commerce, social media, and messaging applications. A Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach was employed, encompassing stages of planning, training implementation, practical mentoring, observation, and evaluation. The results indicate an improvement in digital marketing literacy, an increase in the number of business actors with active marketplace accounts, and a broader reach of online promotional activities. This transformation has facilitated expanded market access and enhanced the added value of seaweed products. Participatory-based intervention has proven to be an effective model for empowering the digital economy of coastal communities.

Abstract

his community service program focuses on optimizing the understanding of Qasidah Burdah Al-Bushiri to enhance religious practices among the community of Kampung Malaysia Raya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The program aims to deepen religious comprehension, Arabic literary literacy, and preserve Malay Islamic culture through the introduction, study, and contextual appreciation of Qasidah Burdah as a classical Islamic literary heritage. Employing participatory and spiritual-reflective approaches, the program involves direct engagement with the local women’s community to collectively read, interpret, and internalize the spiritual messages of the Qasidah Burdah. This initiative also serves as an application of Arabic language and literature knowledge beyond theory, fostering academic and cultural collaboration between Indonesia and Malaysia. The expected outcome is strengthened religious practice, cultural identity, and community solidarity amid rapid urbanization and modernization pressures in Kuala Lumpur.

Abstract

The physical fitness of productive individuals is a crucial determinant in preventing the rise in non-communicable diseases (NCDs) caused by sedentary behavior. The use of digital health technologies such as the SIPGAR app, combined with the Rockport Fitness Walking Test, offers a practical approach to measuring aerobic capacity (VO₂max). This community service activity aims to test the effectiveness of the app-based Rockport method in improving fitness while promoting digital health literacy. The implementation method was conducted directly in a green open space, involving 15 participants aged 15–50 years through a basic medical check-up, PAR-Q screening, and a 1.6 km Rockport test. The results showed a significant increase in VO₂max from 28.4 to 32.1 ml/kg/min (p=0.001), indicating improved cardiorespiratory capacity. Furthermore, 67% of participants were able to operate the app independently, reflecting a good level of functional digital literacy. In conclusion, the integration of the Rockport method with the SIPGAR app effectively improves physical fitness while strengthening community independence in continuously monitoring digital health.

Abstract

Limited technical knowledge, restricted access to certified oil palm seedlings, and inadequate supporting facilities are the main challenges faced by farmers in Gampong Reuleut Timu, North Aceh Regency. This community service program aimed to strengthen farmers' capacity and self-reliance in oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) nursery management. The program was implemented through extension activities, hands-on demonstrations, and continuous mentoring using a capacity-building approach that emphasized active community participation. The program results indicated improvements in participants' knowledge and technical skills in nursery management, enhanced group collaboration, and increased utilization of locally available organic materials to support more sustainable nursery practices. The activities also encouraged community initiatives to establish independent nursery units, develop partnerships with farmer cooperatives, and design collective seedling marketing strategies. These outcomes contributed to strengthening farmers' technical capacity and fostering collaborative community engagement, providing a foundation for the sustainable development of village-based oil palm nursery management using local resources.

Abstract

The lack of Islamic digital literacy not only increases the risk of spreading hoaxes and violating communication ethics but also results in a lack of understanding of how to utilize digital media for social and economic needs. The objective of this community service focuses on strengthening the culture of Islamic digital literacy and improving the quality of social media utilization for the advancement of Cilaku Village residents, using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) approach, namely the stages of "Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny." Through direct training, interactive discussions, socialization on the use of digital attack application technology, and practice in creating social media accounts for MSMEs for social and economic needs. This program results in increasing the digital competence of the community while encouraging the formation of a productive, responsible, and moral digital culture. The contribution of this activity lies in the development of a model for strengthening Islamic digital literacy that not only instills social media ethics based on Islamic values but also improves the community's ability to utilize digital technology for social and economic needs.

Abstract

The implementation of a website-based public complaint service is part of the digital transformation of public services and supports the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE). However, its utilization in Dalung Urban Village (Kelurahan), Cipocok Jaya District, Serang City, has not been optimal due to low public digital literacy, insufficient outreach, and limited staff capacity. This community service initiative aims to optimize the use of the complaint website through outreach, training, and mentoring. The study employs a Participatory Action Approach (PAA) with a qualitative descriptive method, utilizing observation, interviews, discussions, documentation, and activity evaluation. The results indicate an improvement in public understanding of how to use the website to submit complaints, as well as enhanced staff capability to manage reports more rapidly, transparently, and accountably. The program also fosters greater public participation in digital-based public services. The successful implementation of the complaint website depends not only on technological availability but also on human resource readiness, strengthened digital literacy, and sustained outreach. This mentoring model can be replicated in other urban villages to support the digital transformation of public services.
