Abstract

The lack of access to practical knowledge about environmentally sustainable resource utilization and basic financial management among underprivileged students highlights the need for educational outreach programs. In response, a community service activity was carried out at the Pondok Miri Orphanage Foundation in South Tangerang, targeting 50 students as participants. This initiative, organized by 10 lecturers from Pamulang University, aimed to improve the students’ understanding of eco-friendly pineapple processing and introduce them to a simple cash control testing system. The program was structured into three main stages: preparation, implementation, and reporting. The methods applied included interactive lectures, group discussions, and hands-on practice sessions. Through this approach, participants were trained to process pineapples into environmentally sustainable products while learning to track basic financial transactions related to production. The results showed increased participant engagement, improved knowledge, and practical skills in both sustainable processing and cash management. Feedback from the participants and the foundation was overwhelmingly positive, indicating the relevance and impact of the training. This community service not only delivered essential life skills but also contributed to the empowerment and self-reliance of orphaned and underprivileged youth.

Abstract

The mountain forest area of Mount Halimun Salak National Park (TNGHS) needs to be maintained and protected for its habitat and ecological functions. The existing habitats include Palahlar (Dipterocarpus retusus Blume) and Saninten (Castanopsis argentea), which are rare plants endemic to TNGHS. Currently, its existence is decreasing, so conservation efforts need to be carried out together with the community. Community Partnership Program (PKM) activities aim to increase knowledge to develop KTH MKK Cisangku, especially in the field of seeding rare seeds endemic to TNGHS, as well as increasing the marketing of seeds produced by KTH MKK Cisangku nurseries in order to increase the economic income of its members. PKM activities carried out include socialization, nursery, practical training, digital marketing training, and social media management. Overall, the empowerment of KTH MKK Cisangku, Malasari Village, resulted in an 11.6% increase in the knowledge of its members regarding the development of seed nurseries for rare plants endemic to TNGHS, as well as an expansion of the marketing network for seeds produced by KTH MKK Cisangku nurseries through social media.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the marketing capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Bandung Regency, particularly in the utilization of digital platforms. Many MSME actors in the region still rely on conventional marketing methods and lack the skills to optimize digital tools for product promotion. In response to this challenge, the program adopted a combination of lectures and group discussions to educate and empower participants. The activity was conducted in February 2025 and involved MSME participants from various sectors such as culinary, handicrafts, and fashion. The lecture session focused on marketing fundamentals, branding strategies, and the use of social media and e-commerce platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and Shopee. Meanwhile, the group discussions enabled participants to share their marketing challenges and exchange practical solutions with peers and facilitators. Results from the activity revealed a significant increase in participants’ understanding of digital marketing concepts. Many participants acknowledged that they had not previously leveraged social media to market their products and found the insights gained during the training to be highly valuable. Additionally, a two-week follow-up session was held to assist participants in implementing their new marketing strategies. This program demonstrates that digital marketing training combined with participatory methods such as discussion can significantly improve the competitiveness of local MSMEs. Ongoing support and similar community engagement initiatives are recommended to ensure long-term impact and to foster sustainable economic growth among MSME actors in rural and suburban areas of Indonesia.
