Abstract

This research aims to examine the utilization of the "Marsikam" folktale as historical learning material in fostering unity and cooperation values among students. The "Marsikam" folktale was chosen because it contains moral messages and noble values relevant to the social life context of society, particularly unity and cooperation values. The research method used is qualitative with a literature study approach and content analysis. Data were obtained from the "Marsikam" script and secondary sources related to historical learning and character education. The research results show that the "Marsikam" story can be integrated into historical learning material as an effective learning medium to instill unity and cooperation values. Through analysis of characters, plot, and conflict in the story, students can understand the importance of solidarity, tolerance, and collaboration in facing social challenges. The implementation of the "Marsikam" story in historical learning can also increase active student engagement and build awareness of the importance of maintaining unity in diversity. This research recommends the use of folktales as an alternative creative and contextual learning material to strengthen character education in schools.

Abstract

This study explores the educational management of Ma’had Aly Madarijul ‘Ulum in Bandar Lampung in implementing a curriculum rooted in the Qur'an and classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning). The primary focus is on examining how planning, implementation, and supervision are conducted to ensure effective institutional governance. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews with administrators and educators, as well as document analysis of institutional policies and administrative systems. The findings reveal that educational planning is carried out systematically through curriculum development, recruitment of competent educators, and the management of supporting infrastructure. Implementation is characterized by a traditional pesantren-based administrative system that emphasizes efficiency and strong coordination among administrators, educators, and students. Supervision is conducted through routine evaluations of both managerial performance and policy execution. However, the study also identifies challenges, particularly in the areas of monitoring systems and resource management, which have yet to reach optimal functionality. These insights contribute significantly to the development of an educational management model for Islamic higher education institutions. Recommendations include enhancing data-driven supervision systems, strengthening managerial capacities, and integrating technology into administrative processes to ensure sustainable and professional institutional governance. With continuous improvement, Ma’had Aly Madarijul ‘Ulum holds the potential to become a leading, adaptive, and competitive Islamic higher education institution.

Abstract

Change management at Pondok Pesantren Madarijul Ulum in Bandar Lampung serves as a crucial strategy in shaping Islamic scholars who are not only well-versed in Islamic sciences but also equipped with adaptive leadership skills responsive to contemporary challenges. This study aims to analyze the change process, encompassing the identification of needs, planning, implementation, resistance, and evaluation within the pesantren's educational management system. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation to gain a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of change taking place. The findings reveal that curriculum innovation, capacity building of educators, and the development of a structured student leadership pipeline are central focuses of the transformation process. Despite encountering resistance from individuals adhering to traditionalist approaches, the use of persuasive communication and participatory methods proved effective in mitigating conflict and enhancing the involvement of all pesantren stakeholders. Periodic evaluations have also played a significant role in aligning implemented changes with the institution’s overarching vision. These findings contribute to the existing literature on change management in faith-based educational institutions and offer practical recommendations for strengthening teacher training, increasing stakeholder participation, and fostering institutional collaboration. Consequently, pesantren can evolve into centers of excellence that produce knowledgeable, ethical, and globally responsive Muslim leaders.

Abstract

This essay aims to examine and analyze the status of women in Islam, their right to pursue knowledge, and perspectives on women's education within the framework of Islamic educational philosophy. The study employs a library research method, supported by content analysis and constant comparative analysis approaches. Content analysis is utilized to explore written and printed materials, particularly those disseminated through mass media, in order to extract relevant insights. The findings reveal that, in the view of Islamic educational philosophy, women have consistently been granted the right to education. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized that seeking knowledge is a mandatory duty for all Muslims, regardless of gender. By underscoring this principle, the Prophet ensured that all avenues of knowledge were accessible to both men and women. This study contributes to the ongoing discourse on gender equality in education within the Islamic tradition and highlights the inclusive nature of knowledge pursuit in Islam.

Abstract

Moral and religious (aqidah) education plays a significant role in shaping children's behavior. Morality, as reflected in ethical conduct, and aqidah, as a belief system, are interconnected elements that influence personal development. This study aims to examine the impact of moral education and the application of aqidah on fostering positive behavior in children. Children who receive moral and religious instruction tend to develop a more positive worldview, form healthy relationships with others, and grow into individuals who are kind, patient, and tolerant. This education provides them with a solid moral foundation, equipping them to face challenges and resist negative influences in their environment. The integration of moral and aqidah education into religious or character education curricula within formal educational settings is essential. Furthermore, a comprehensive approach involving families, communities, and educational institutions can effectively reinforce these teachings and shape children’s behavior. In conclusion, moral and aqidah education significantly influences children’s behavior, helping them grow into morally upright individuals who can contribute positively to society.

Abstract

Multicultural education in Indonesia plays a strategic role in managing the nation's rich diversity of cultures, ethnicities, religions, and languages. From the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy, it offers a normative and ethical foundation to foster harmony amid differences. This study views multicultural education as a conscious effort to cultivate awareness and tolerance by appreciating the values of pluralism in alignment with core Islamic principles such as justice, equality, and respect for human rights. Islamic educational philosophy emphasizes the importance of tauhid (the oneness of God) as the foundation for shaping inclusive character that respects diversity. Through this approach, multicultural education aims not only to develop students’ intellectual competence but also to nurture their moral and ethical capacity to live peacefully in a pluralistic society. This study recommends integrating multicultural and Islamic values into the educational curriculum to cultivate a generation that is tolerant, socially just, and capable of embracing diversity as a national asset.Keyword : Pendidikan, Multikulrural, Filsafat

Abstract

This study examines an empowerment program designed to develop a digital entrepreneurial mindset among Generation Z maritime students by strengthening self-efficacy and cognitive flexibility. Responding to the accelerating digitalization of the maritime sector, the program aimed to shift student perspectives from traditional seafaring roles toward innovation-driven, technology-based entrepreneurship. Adopting a Participatory Action Research (PAR) model, the intervention involved 118 second-semester students at Politeknik Pelayaran Sumatera Barat and comprised stages of preliminary assessment, socialization and motivational seminars, two-day training workshops using Creative Problem Solving and Design Thinking, digital business idea simulations, mentoring, and reflective evaluation. Data collection included pre–post surveys, direct observation, written student reflections, facilitator notes, and triangulation across sources; qualitative descriptive analysis identified thematic changes in self-efficacy, cognitive flexibility, and entrepreneurial orientation. Post-intervention findings show notable increases in students’ confidence to express ideas, make decisions, and assume leadership roles, alongside enhanced cognitive flexibility manifested in multi-perspective problem solving and creative solution generation. Participants produced viable digital maritime business concepts (e.g., vessel-tracking applications, online seafarer training platforms, and logistics services), and demonstrated improved communication, teamwork, and pitching skills. The study recommends curriculum integration, establishment of a campus digital maritime incubator, stakeholder engagement for industry linkage, and longitudinal evaluation to sustain and scale outcomes. Overall, the intervention advances a replicable model for preparing adaptive, innovative maritime graduates capable of contributing to Indonesia’s digital maritime economy.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the implementation of the Discovery Learning strategy in teaching Islamic Cultural History to tenth-grade social science students at MAM Lakitan. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The primary data sources are religious education teachers who have applied the Discovery Learning strategy, while the secondary sources include the school principal and administrative staff. The results show that while teachers attempt to apply Discovery Learning in the classroom, several challenges arise, including low student motivation, lack of interest in Islamic Cultural History, limited use of instructional media, and poor student discipline. Despite these issues, teachers make efforts to motivate students and diversify the use of teaching media. The study concludes that although the Discovery Learning strategy holds potential to improve student engagement and understanding, its effectiveness depends greatly on student readiness, teacher creativity, and institutional support.
