Abstract

Islamic religious education in the modern era must be informative and transformational, namely, to be able to form students' religious character completely and sustainably. One of the key factors in the success of this transformation is self-efficacy, namely, students' belief in their ability to carry out religious values in everyday life. This study aims to examine how the role of self-efficacy is built through Islamic Religious Education learning that is designed contextually and applicatively. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The study subjects consisted of Islamic Religious Education teachers and senior high school students implementing transformation-based learning in Bandung. The study results show that students' self-efficacy is formed through 1) a religious and supportive school environment, 2) a meaningful and contextual learning model, 3) consistent character guidance and habituation, and 4) disciplinary policies that support student self-control. Therefore, transformational Islamic Religious Education is effective in forming students' religious character if it synergistically involves all elements of the school to strengthen their self-efficacy in carrying out religious teachings consistently and consciously.

Abstract

This study presents the outcomes of a community service initiative conducted by Informatics Engineering students of UIN Jakarta, focusing on the enhancement of digital literacy—particularly digital safety and digital ethics—within the cultural context of Indonesian educational institutions. The program engaged nine schools across Jakarta, Tangerang City, South Tangerang, and Bogor, regions characterized by diverse educational and socio-cultural backgrounds. Emphasizing culturally sensitive approaches to digital interaction, the program provided participants with knowledge and ethical frameworks aligned with local values and community norms. Post-program evaluations revealed a marked increase in digital literacy, with an average score of 4.28 on a 5-point scale. Furthermore, 47.1% of participants rated the module on data security at the highest level. However, cultural barriers were also identified, including hesitancy from some institutions to adopt formal digital supervision structures, often due to traditional perceptions of trust and authority. Despite these challenges, the initiative proved effective in cultivating culturally-aware digital behavior, preparing participants to navigate the digital era while remaining rooted in local ethical standards.

Abstract

Religious traditions are integral to character education and the preservation of cultural values. This study examines the haul (annual commemoration) of Abuya Uci in Pasar Kemis, Tangerang, as a medium for shaping religious character and preserving local cultural heritage. The annual event at Al-Istiqlaliyah Islamic Boarding School in Cilongok attracts tens of thousands of attendees, facilitating socio-religious interaction. The gap identified in this study is the lack of research on religious commemorations as tools for character education and cultural preservation. Using a library research approach, this study highlights how the haul of Kiai Uci transmits values like humility (tawadhu’), service (khidmah), love of knowledge, and social solidarity. The results suggest that the haul is more than a ritual; it serves as a hidden curriculum for character education and a strategic tool for preserving cultural heritage. It underscores the role of the kiai as a guardian of values, even posthumously.

Abstract

This article discusses the interpretation of Q.S. 2:233 in the context of exclusive breastfeeding and childcare through a maqāṣidī tafsir approach. The research integrates analysis of the Qur'anic text with modern psychological theory and public health policy to highlight the relevance of Islamic teachings to contemporary issues, such as reducing stunting and children's right to optimal growth and development. The results show that Q.S. 2:233 not only provides spiritual guidance but also reflects the principles of maqāṣidī sharia, particularly in safeguarding physical health (ḥifẓ al-badan) and offspring (ḥifẓ al-nasl). In addition, this study explores cultural and traditional challenges in child-rearing practices, particularly in balancing religious obligations with modern societal changes, such as career-oriented motherhood and shifting family dynamics. This interdisciplinary approach offers a more holistic understanding for policymakers and society in promoting the importance of breastfeeding and parenting based on Qur'anic values.

Abstract

This research explores the role of affiliate marketing in preserving Islamic traditions within Indonesia's digital economy, particularly from the perspective of Sharia economic law. The problem addressed is the lack of clear guidance on Sharia compliance in modern affiliate practices, which are increasingly popular among the Muslim community. The study aims to identify how affiliate marketing can align with Islamic values and contribute to ethical digital commerce. Using a qualitative approach and literature study method, data were collected from journals, books, DSN-MUI fatwas, and relevant regulations. The findings reveal that affiliate marketing, although modern, can uphold core Sharia principles such as honesty (ṣiddiq), justice ('adālah), and responsibility (amanah). These values are crucial for avoiding unethical practices like gharar and deceit. The research concludes that affiliate marketing can serve as a medium for Islamic da'wah and economic empowerment if managed by Sharia. It recommends developing specific guidelines and promoting digital ethics through Islamic education.

Abstract

This study explores applying deep learning technology to enhance the teaching of local wisdom values in Islamic education. In the artificial intelligence era, integrating its capabilities in education is on the rise, but teaching local wisdom has not yet kept up with modern technology. A qualitative approach with a literature review focused on the application of deep learning in Islamic education is addressed in this study. The survey results show that deep learning can create adaptive learning systems that tailor the materials based on students' characteristics. Such systems can enrich learners ' experiences, enhance understanding of Islamic values, and improve younger learners' character development through local wisdom, Islamic teachings, and ethics more efficiently. Other possibilities include automated analysis of students' learning behaviors for personalized instruction, easy interaction with the educational materials, and learning through experiences. Therefore, integrating deep learning technology into Islamic education could offer innovative approaches to guard and disseminate teaching local wisdom in light of modern technological advancements.
