Abstract

Household waste management has become a significant challenge in maintaining environmental cleanliness and improving community welfare. This community service program aims to implement waste processing based on the 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) with added economic value in the Community Self-Help Group (KSM) Paguntaka, Tarakan City. The activities include education, training, and mentoring in managing organic waste. Organic waste is processed into compost using a simple fermentation method.. The program's results indicate an increase in community understanding of the 3R concept and the ability to process waste into economically valuable products. Furthermore, additional income from the sale of recycled products has contributed to improving the welfare of KSM members. This program also positively impacts reducing the volume of waste that ends up in the landfill, thus supporting environmental conservation efforts. In conclusion, the 3R-based waste management approach involving community empowerment has proven effective in generating economic and environmental benefits. This program is expected to be replicated in other communities to support sustainable waste management.

Abstract

The financial literacy program is an effort made by the Financial Services Authority to direct the community to manage their finances better. This is expected to improve the welfare of the community itself. Meanwhile, community service activities that overlap with the program, including organizing capital market education activities, particularly for students of Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang, are still very lacking. Therefore, the community service team of Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang took the initiative to carry out the capital market education activity. This activity was held online on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, and attended by 68 students of the university's Bachelor's degree in Management. The method of implementing the activity used a general lecture format. This activity provides conclusions regarding the motivation of students to invest in the capital market. The message that can be taken from this activity is that anyone (including students) can start investing in the capital market without limitations, anytime and anywhere, with any nominal amount. The key is that students must possess a strong willingness and the ability to analyze investment products, ensuring that opportunities for optimal returns remain open while maintaining a well-managed risk profile.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of environmental education programs in fostering environmental care character in Kebonan 2 State Elementary School students, Lumajang Regency. The research method uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through participatory observation and documentation during the implementation of the program. The results of the study show five main programs implemented: (1) Clean Friday to familiarize the cleanliness of the school environment; (2) Canva Digital Poster Training to increase students' creativity in conveying environmental messages; (3) Natural Disaster Mitigation Mini Seminar to strengthen students' understanding of disaster risk reduction; (4) Making Waste Recycling Crafts as an effort to manage waste based on creativity; and (5) Environmental Poster Competition as a medium for environmental awareness campaigns. The implementation of this program has successfully increased student participation in cleaning activities, graphic design skills, and an understanding of recycling and disaster mitigation. However, students' enthusiasm still needs to be increased through more interactive approaches such as using environment-themed games. The conclusion of the study underlines that the integration of environmental programs based on direct practices is effective in forming the character of caring for the environment. It is recommended that schools strengthen collaboration with local communities such as the Lumajang Children's Creative House and use digital technology such as publication of the results of activities on school social media to expand the impact of the program.

Abstract

This community service activity, conducted in the form of technical training, aims to enhance students' understanding of various conflict management styles possessed by each individual. In this activity, participants are given the opportunity to identify the conflict management styles they use in dealing with different situations. Once participants understand their respective conflict management styles, the speakers provide an in-depth explanation of the advantages and disadvantages of each style. Additionally, participants are given insights into strategies that can be applied to effectively manage conflicts based on their conflict management styles. This activity was attended by 118 participants from the railway sector. Its implementation consists of three main stages. The first stage is a pre-test aimed at identifying participants’ initial understanding of conflict management styles. The second stage involves measuring each participant’s conflict management style using the Rahim Organizational Conflict Inventory II (ROCI-II), a valid and reliable instrument for categorizing individual conflict management styles. The third stage is the material delivery session, which focuses on a deeper understanding of the characteristics, advantages, and limitations of each conflict management style. Based on the measurement results, it was found that the majority of participants, specifically 97.5%, tend to use the collaborating conflict management style, which emphasizes cooperation and finding mutually beneficial solutions. Meanwhile, 2.5% of participants exhibit a tendency to use the avoiding conflict management style, characterized by efforts to evade conflicts in certain situations. These findings provide an overview of students’ preferences in handling conflicts and serve as a foundation for developing strategies to improve conflict management skills more effectively in the future.
