Abstract

Pondok pesantren (Islamic boarding schools) plays an important role in religious education and the character development of young generations in Indonesia. However, the times demand a transformation in pesantren education policy to integrate classical religious traditions with modern learning approaches. This study analyzes the policy of modern pesantren education focusing on the integration of tradition and modernization in learning practices. The research method employs a qualitative approach with content analysis techniques on scientific literature from 2020-2025 sourced from national and international journals and official policy documents from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis techniques encompassing reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Findings show that government and pesantren policies have adopted an integrative approach, including strengthening the national curriculum, improving teacher competence through training, and applying information technology. Nonetheless, challenges such as cultural resistance to innovation and limitations of resources in traditional pesantren remain. In conclusion, the success of integration heavily depends on responsive policy synergy and strengthening of human resource capabilities.

Abstract

The persistent problem of long waiting times in Indonesia’s National Health Insurance (JKN) services has raised concerns about the fulfillment of the right to health guaranteed under Article 12 of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR). Although the AAAQ framework Availability, Accessibility, Acceptability, and Quality does not explicitly mention timeliness, delays in medical services directly affect accessibility and quality. This study aims to examine whether service delays within JKN indicate potential non-compliance with Indonesia’s international human rights obligations. Using a normative legal method supported by targeted case illustrations, this research analyzes the alignment between ICESCR standards and the implementation of JKN policies, particularly regarding disparities in service delivery and prolonged waiting times. The findings show that unequal distribution of health facilities, inconsistent service quality between insured and non-insured patients, and extended queues at primary and referral facilities undermine the substantive elements of accessibility and quality. These conditions may constitute a potential breach of the core obligations outlined in ICESCR, despite the absence of a binding enforcement mechanism. Strengthening facility capacity, improving digital service systems, and ensuring equitable distribution of health personnel are identified as essential measures to ensure timely, non-discriminatory, and rights-based health services.

Abstract

This literature review aims to analyze and synthesize the findings from various studies on character education policy in Indonesia and how it affects student academic achievement. Within the national education system, the Strengthening Character Education policy has been a major focus. However, the relationship between character implementation and academic achievement remains debated. The research method employs a qualitative approach with content analysis techniques on scientific literature from 2015-2025 sourced from national and international journals and official policy documents from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis techniques encompassing reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Overall, the results indicate that character education policy has an indirect positive effect on academic achievement. Mediating variables, enhanced character traits such as discipline, responsibility, and integrity, increase student engagement in the learning process. The reviewed studies emphasize that consistent policy implementation, character integration in every subject, and comprehensive school environment support are critical components determining success. Nevertheless, there are significant research gaps in terms of standardizing credible character evaluation instruments and measuring long-term impact. According to this research, character strengthening is a prerequisite for creating a good learning environment, which in turn improves academic achievement. Therefore, in the future, more in-depth longitudinal empirical research is needed.

Abstract

The rapid expansion of digital learning ecosystems has reshaped instructional practices in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), raising concerns about how adab (etiquette) and akhlak (moral character) can be effectively nurtured in Distance Learning (Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh, PJJ). National education policies including the National Education System Law, the Character Education Strengthening Program, the Pancasila Student Profile, the Merdeka Curriculum, and Religious Moderation provide a strong normative basis for integrating moral values into online learning spaces. The purpose of this study is to analyze how these policy frameworks support and direct the strengthening of moral and ethical formation in PAI PJJ. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research design, drawing on educational regulations from 2020–2023, complemented by academic journals and books. Data were examined through content analysis. The findings show that policy guidelines encourage the incorporation of character-based competencies into digital pedagogical practices, such as the use of learning management systems, moderated online discussions, and affective assessment strategies. However, implementation remains constrained by reduced face-to-face interaction, digital literacy disparities, and challenges in observing and evaluating moral behavior in virtual environments. Despite these obstacles, the study identifies opportunities in ethical digital literacy, constructive e-moderation, and teacher digital exemplarity as strategic pathways for value internalization.

Abstract

Education is widely recognized as a key driver of human capital formation, yet many studies still treat its economic and social impacts in a fragmented manner. This article addresses that gap by providing an integrated review of how education functions as a long-term investment that strengthens skills, productivity, and social well being. The study aims to examine the value of education as human capital investment and to synthesize its socio-economic impacts based on recent empirical findings. Using a structured literature review, data were gathered from national and international journal articles published between 2015-2024, selected through relevance, credibility, and thematic alignment with human capital theory. The analysis shows that investment in education consistently enhances individual productivity, widens employment opportunities, and increases lifetime earnings. At the macro level, higher educational attainment contributes to economic growth through better utilization of labor quality, increased innovation capacity, and improved social cohesion. The review also highlights that education reduces unemployment risks, supports poverty alleviation, and strengthens community welfare. These findings reaffirm that education serves not only as a social responsibility but also as a strategic economic instrument that generates long-term returns for individuals and the state.

Abstract

The increasing demand for sustainable business practices and the growing attention to corporate fiscal strategies have made Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Tax Planning central issues in evaluating firm performance, particularly in the agricultural manufacturing sector, which is closely associated with environmental and social impacts. This study aims to provide empirical evidence on the influence of CSR and Tax Planning on Company Value in agricultural-sector manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2019–2024 period. This research uses a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The population consists of all agriculture companies listed on the IDX, from which 18 companies were selected through purposive sampling, resulting in 70 financial report observations. Data were processed using SPSS 25 and analyzed using multiple linear regression. Hypothesis testing was performed at a 5% significance level. The findings reveal that CSR does not have a significant effect on Company Value, indicating that CSR initiatives in this sector may not yet be perceived by investors as value-enhancing. Conversely, Tax Planning shows a significant positive effect on Company Value. Additionally, CSR and Tax Planning simultaneously exert a significant influence on Company Value. These results underscore the role of effective tax strategies in enhancing firm value within the agricultural manufacturing industry.

Abstract

The rapid growth of online shopping in Indonesia has created significant potential for tax revenue, prompting the government to strengthen the regulation of taxation in E-Commerce transactions. However, efforts to optimize state revenue face several challenges, including taxpayers’ limited understanding of tax regulations, perceptions of tax rates, environmental influences, and varying levels of taxpayer awareness. This study aims to analyze the effect of these factors on taxpayer compliance among individual taxpayers engaged in online shopping activities. This quantitative research employed a survey method and was conducted at the Primary Tax Office (KPP Pratama) Tangerang. A total of 200 individual taxpayers were selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through the distribution of Likert-scale closed-ended questionnaires and processed using SPSS 25. Multiple linear regression analysis was performed to examine both simultaneous and partial influences of the variables. The findings indicate that Understanding of Tax Regulations, Tax Rates, Environment, and Taxpayer Awareness simultaneously affect Taxpayer Compliance. However, partial testing reveals that only Understanding of Tax Regulations and Taxpayer Awareness have a significant positive effect on Taxpayer Compliance. These results highlight the importance of improving taxpayer knowledge and awareness to enhance compliance in the growing E-Commerce sector.

Abstract

Long waiting times for outpatient pharmacy services remain a major challenge in hospital service quality and patient satisfaction. At the Outpatient Pharmacy Installation of RS Prima Pekanbaru, increasing prescription volumes have not been matched by service capacity, leading to delays that exceed national standards. This study aims to evaluate outpatient pharmacy waiting times using Lean Management principles and queueing theory to identify sources of inefficiency and propose improvement strategies. A qualitative research design supported by quantitative queue analysis was applied. Data were collected through observations, document review, and in-depth interviews with 11 informants, including pharmacists, pharmacy supervisors, hospital management, prescription verifiers, and patients. The results showed an average prescription arrival rate of 1.717 prescriptions per hour, while the service rate was only 0.912 prescriptions per hour, indicating an unstable queue system. The average processing time for one prescription reached 1.09 hours, exceeding the 60-minute standard for compounded medications. Major inefficiencies were identified in the form of overproduction, particularly at the packaging stage, overprocessing due to repeated data entry caused by incomplete implementation of electronic prescriptions, and defects related to administrative and service flow errors. These findings indicate that optimizing workflow, strengthening human resources, and fully integrating digital systems are essential to reducing waiting times and improving pharmacy service performance.

Abstract

The digital change in Indonesia's court system has led to the use of electronic court services, known as e-court, to make the legal process more efficient, open, and easier to access. This study looks at two main questions: (1) how the e-court system is used to handle civil cases at the Kefamenanu District Court Class II, and (2) what difficulties come up during its use. The goal of this research is to check how well e-court is working and to find out both technical and non-technical problems faced by the court and the people using it. The research uses a legal method that combines looking at laws with real data collected from the field. Information was gathered directly through conversations with judges, court workers, lawyers, and people who use the courts. Other information came from books and legal rules. The data was studied using a method that describes what is found in detail. The results show that the e-court system at the Kefamenanu District Court Class II is mostly being used as it should, following the Supreme Court's rules from 2022, and helps make the court system simpler, faster, and cheaper. However, there are still some problems, like poor internet connections, system issues, and not enough knowledge of digital tools among the public. These results show that even though e-court makes handling civil cases more efficient, there is still a need to improve the system and help people better understand how to use it.

Abstract

Unregistered marriage (commonly known as siri marriage) remains a prevalent social and legal phenomenon in Indonesia, despite clear statutory requirements mandating official marriage registration. This practice persists due to a combination of religious interpretations, cultural traditions, economic constraints, and societal pressures that lead couples to prioritize religious validity over legal recognition. This study aims to examine siri marriage from a normative legal perspective and to analyze its legal implications within the Indonesian legal system. The research employs a qualitative approach using normative legal research methods, with library research as the primary data source. The unit of analysis focuses on the practice of siri marriage in Indonesia. Data were collected through an extensive review of legal literature, including books, scholarly journals, and relevant laws and regulations, particularly Law No. 1 of 1974 on Marriage. Data analysis was conducted using a juridical-qualitative method by identifying, classifying, and interpreting legal materials to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the issue. The findings indicate that siri marriages are not legally recognized by the state, resulting in significant legal consequences, such as the absence of legal protection for wives, uncertainty regarding the legal status of children, and difficulties in resolving disputes related to divorce and child custody. Therefore, marriage registration is essential to ensure legal certainty and the protection of individual rights. Increased public awareness and improved accessibility of marriage registration procedures are crucial to addressing this issue.
